I also tried calling Tucson early and late afternoon (just now). I think one more try today is worth it.

Congrats Brahms2010!

Kinda sucks not being able to reach Tucson before the weekend, but hopefully that means there will be big movement come Monday!

Anyone doing anything fun for their moms for Mother's Day?
 
How about them Suns? They came from down 18 to win by 14, and they're averaging about 110 per game vs the Spurs. How do you guys think we'll fair against the Fakers? Err...Lakers...whatever they suck only slightly less than the Spurs

It appears that the Suns have really caught fire 😀 If they continue to play like this, I'm not sure anyone could beat them in 7 games. The Suns might not match up well with the league's best teams (I don't really know though), but if you have surprise performances by one of the deepest benches in the league every game, that's tough to beat. Assuming they continue to play this way, they will beat the Lakers.

It may sound weird, but I'm taking her on a date 🙂 Of course, a Mother-Son sort of date. Even for the daughters out there, you could always have a Mother-Daughter outing - doing something you both enjoy.
 
I will formally withdraw this upcoming Monday as I finally got my papers for BCM and sent in my deposit today.

Here's an updated post. Monday night or Tuesday morning, once we find a current number for the beginning of the week, I may post the first real 2nd trendline for this year. Hopefully we don't flatten out this next week like 2009 did. If we keep up the pace, we'll be nearly on track with 2008.

A reminder of historical precedence: To reach 49 we need a May 15th number of 28-29, and to reach 61 we need a May 15th number of 35-36. A May 15th number of 33 would yield 55-57 total WLers pulled. Again, I'd say 50 and below is a sure thing, and even up to 55 has a very good chance.

Thanks for the updated graph MadeIn! I'm rooting for 36 by May 15th! We have jturkel's spot coming on Monday, so that is just six more. I think it can happen! 🙂

Keep in mind that #29, 30, and 31 could have been OOSers who have already withdrawn from the UA waitlist, so jturkel's spot could result in a movement of 4 WL spots. Like I said before, I think this is why we have seen some big jumps on the WL this year, so 36 by May 15 is certainly within reach. Erik getting accepted on or around the 15th also seems within the realm of possibility as well.

Oh and did anybody else get their brooms out last night after that sweep? Damn that was nice to watch the Spurs go down in 4. Now we lose home-court advantage against the Lakers (unless Utah pulls off a miracle).

I think you're absolutely right - and keep in mind that Indiana06, #34, is planning on going to Phoenix (I believe). So we know that when it hits 34, it automatically hits 35 😀

On the Suns: True that 🙂 Though I personally would prefer to see the Lakers get squashed, especially by the Suns. I'm hoping Utah can take it at least five or six games. Suns-Lakers should be a really good series - hopefully Kobe gets clothes-lined again! JK . . . sort of . . .

Accepted to Tucson today! I'm #34 on the WL, but as Made mentioned, I'm pretty dead set on Phoenix so I will most likely be withdrawing shortly. Seems like they're flying through the list today.

Sorry about that, I was working on some homework. I usually plan on calling closer to 3PM just to get the whole days worth of movement.

Also, only two or three more spots this week and you're set MadeIn! We exceeded the upper bound trend line today. I think it's gonna happen that we reach the 60's!

Wow! I'm cautiously excited 😀 I know things could flatten out, but I'm grateful for anything and everything we can get!

Because of paiger's comment, I decided to check out when each year (2008-09) passed their respective halfway points. 2008 passed halfway on 5/12, and 2009 passed it on 5/14. If we assume we've passed our halfway point today, on 5/10, we'd land in the upper 50's and 60's . . . 😀

This is the first second trendline for this year (assuming we stop at 34 today) - I made one supposing we had stopped at 31 today, and it basically matched the lower bound trendline, landing in the low 50's by mid June. What I'm saying is, this can definitely still change. That said, we've had some AWESOME movement in the last week! It's been GREAT! 😀 And yes, we are officially deeper into the WL than any other year at this time (5/10)! And Erik, you're basically just 11 away; MedHopeful, just 14! With 5 days still to go to the big day 🙂

I will still be excited if I get in on/around the 25th. Any earlier than that and I will be elated, much later than the 1st and I am going to have at least some anxiety building up again.

I get more and more excited about going to UA! I feel like I already have friends there, aside from the ones I had before this whole process, which is a fantastic feeling! 😀

I am gonna say tomorrow we hit 36, and we will hit 38 by Friday. Then, hopefully, next week could maybe be my week 🙂??? PLEEEEEEEEEASSSSEEEEEEEE

I think it's definitely possible 🙂 We'll have to see what this week brings us! If you do get in next week, it'll probably be Thursday or Friday. Let's hope it's sooner! :xf: :xf:

In the past 6 days we've moved 11 spots, nearly 2 a day - !!! That's BLAZING! If it only levels out to match 2008's trendline, I'll be happy 🙂

This would be AWESOME! And I have already spread the word to my roommates and friends that if I get in I am for sure going to do this as my happy dance: :soexcited:. You will be able to recognize me on the first day of med school because I am pretty sure I won't have stopped dancing by then!

If anyone comes down to Tuscon let me know! I was so sad that I missed the big meeting a couple Fridays ago in Phoenix, so I would love to hang out with some of you if you are in Tucson!

I would guess that most of the Phoenix students that have been accepted have already choose between to the two schools. I remember that the Tucson and Phoenix select around 70% of the same students, but the that may leave students that have only been accepted to Phoenix and have been WL'd at Tucson. So, maybe it will yield minimal movement; however, any movement is good. The best bet for movement would be with those who are WL'd at OOS schools. Agree or disagree?
 
Just called for an update and it was still at #34. The day isn't even half over yet though, so I think there is still hope for more movement today! I have to go to some study groups this afternoon, so won't be able to call again till tomorrow. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!!!:xf::xf::xf:

Yeah, I know it is SO tough to choose - I had such a hard time deciding last year that I called and asked them for more time! You'll be happy with whichever you choose; looking back on it, it seems like the easiest decision in the world, but I just wanted to make sure it was right. I do hope you join our Phoenix family, though. 🙂
