My status has been "Recommendation(s): 4 received from AMCAS, expecting a total of 4, awaiting Admissions Officer letter review" since 10/5. Does this mean that they haven't even certified my file as complete?

Call right away. The same thing happened to me. I was complete on 10/12, but since they never reviewed my letters I wasn't marked complete until 11/09. Kind of a crappy move on their part, but I guess there is nothing to do about it.

Yep, she completed it over the phone. What a lame way to be put 1.5 months behind in the review process.

how long does it take for UIC to get back to us re: which campus we got?

Got my thin rejection envelope when I came home from Thanksgiving break. Good luck to everyone who is still in the applicant pool!! Happy holidays too! 🙂

Is a date added to the additional correspondence tab when UIC receives the papers that they sent us?

hey folks,

i'm a second-year med student in peoria (was in urbana last year)... i know most of you who are already in are hoping on chicago (can't blame ya)... but i just thought i would put in a good word for the UPR program. even though urbana/peoria/rockford don't have the same entertainment and social opportunities as chicago, these cities also don't have the crime and astronomical living expenses either. also, the faculty at urbana and peoria are fantastic (can't speak for rockford since i've never attended there, obviously, but i'm sure they're great too).

anyhow, if any of you are planning on UPR and want some advice on living there, etc., feel free to PM/ask me.

congrats to all those accepted and good luck to those waiting. if you got an interview, you're in good company, UIC admits like 60%+ of those interviewed.

a separate table below for "pre-enrollment requirements" will show up that displays whether they have received something (Y/N) and the date...ie. immunizations, transcripts, deposit, and acceptance forms I believe

is anyone else still just "Decision Pending?" i was expecting one of those 'we will continue to review you' emails, but haven't gotten that either. what is going on, UIC?? I interviewed six weeks ago!

when does it tell you which campus you've been selected to?

In the same boat as you. No email yet and still decision pending I interviewed like 6 weeks ago too. Maybe they just did not get around to it yet. Im farily certain we do have a chance until the January/February decisions when they fill up the class.

By the way I have seen you post a lot from UIC/MCW. You have a great app I am surprised you did not get like 20 interviews. Im still in MCW small pool since August hoping to get some love before its the waitlist interviews. Congrats on the acceptance and good luck with the other schools.

when does it tell you which campus you've been selected to?

About a week after you turn in your campus placement card (in your acceptance packet). If you live in Chicago, I'd recommend you hand deliver the card to the admissions office as it's already December and Chicago campus spots started filling up last year around December.

Just received my thin letter in mail today.
Good Luck to everyone that's waiting.

Sorry to those who were recently rejected. 🙁 May I ask when you were complete? I've had nothing but silence since early September (status has never changed), and am wondering if I should be expecting a letter soon as well.

Is your site placement conveyed by email or status page or what?

Question...

- - Recommendation(s): 4 received from AMCAS, expecting a total of 6, awaiting Admissions Officer letter review-

My current status has been this for about four weeks now...all my letters have been in for about that long. I've read other people with somewhat similar statuses...but mine's different because I had to cancel two of my letters. I should probably just call, huh. Or should I give it another week just in case they are just really bogged down?

lol. i wish i had 20 interviews, i only applied to 15 schools 🙂 thank you though.

don't give up on MCW, and if you get a waitlist interview I would take it, especially if you are from the area and don't have to fly. I can understand how someone would not want to spend the money on a flight just to be waitlisted. But they do pull from it.

Anyway, in order to make this post relevant . . . my "Decision Pending" status remains unchanged! 🙁

Anyone know when UIC meets in December to review people? Im assuming with the holidays it mixes things up a bit...

does anyone know how to check your status. sorry if this has been asked before. i go to the secondary application site and all it says is that i've submitted my application. should i call them and ask? thanks

When did you receive the site placement? I sent mine in fairly early and am still waiting...

It took me about 2 weeks. Check your status page to see if they have marked receiving your acceptance forms and deposit. They marked receiving my forms the day my site placement confirmation was postmarked.

can anyone else not even get to the status page to log in? is it down?

... also hoping ill get my site placement today. i thought the nervewracking part was over...

Think positively! Perhaps they are updated status ie. interview invites :xf: and loading up the most recent group's pre-enrollment requirements check list.

Has anyone from the second round of acceptances received site placements yet?

I was in the first round of acceptances, and I still have not received anything regarding my site placement. 🙁

I would contact them. The paperwork says once all your forms have been received they will notify you of your placement...

The interview feedback page and this thread don't reveal much about the Peoria interviewers/ questions. Apparently they are not organized, but that is all I really found...
Anyone who interviewed there want to give a little more insight?
Thanks!

I heard it's 3 on 1 for 45mins. That's according to my friend who interviewed there.

so i just called re: site placements and they said they haven't sent them out yet. i didnt even tell her my AMCAS # which makes me think that they send them all out together... which makes sense i guess, they probably want to see how many people want which campus.

still... my forms were due by dec 8 so they should have everyone's by now that were accepted in november...

they sent ours (or mine at least) the day after our forms were due. I would imagine they would send them all out together too, however Quinn was w/ the first group as well and still hasn't received hers...

Anyone get an interview lately?

Nope- Just went to "applicant in process" a week or so ago. Any idea how long you stay in this phase, or does it just depend?

I'm not really expecting an interview though with my average or below stats and late app

Does anyone know what the RMED average MCAT/GPA is? If I have to reapply next year, I am thinkin about applying to RMED.

Well I was applicant in process for a LONG time, few months, I just now switched back to application so guess I got some time but glad I got some other choices already haha

Been applicant in process since September. They meet only once a week on the third Thursday of every month, so I'm assuming that's the reason for the hold up. Correct me if I am wrong?

So I was "application in process" for a while then went to "applicant in process" a couple of weeks ago and now am back to "application in process" - What does this even mean? They looked at my file and put me on hold? Should I be expecting a rejection letter soon?

No, this does not mean a rejection. If a "final decision has been made" pre-interview, that is rejection. Going from "applicant in process" to "application in process" just means that they have decided not to give you an interview at this point and will come back to your file at a later date.

What about those of us that have been applicant in process for months? Going on 3 now... never switched back to application...... Am I in limbo as I am everywhere else?

After about 2 months of being "applicant in process," I just checked my status and it has the interview options displayed. It says to choose an interview date carefully, but doesn't tell me how to do that. Do I need to wait for the letter to schedule an interview?

In the same boat as you. No email yet and still decision pending I interviewed like 6 weeks ago too.

do you think it's possible they just had too many to get through at their last meeting, and didn't get to them all? i can understand if they didn't want to accept me right away, but the fact that neither of us got that 'continue to review' email makes me think they haven't even reviewed us yet . . . ? maybe? 😕

So I finally called them up to ask why I was rejected but the guy couldn't really tell me anything. The best he could give me was that I didn't have "enough" clinical experience. I told him that surprised me because I've held a job in the hospital for a year and I volunteer every summer. All he had to say was that they're looking for "consistant/continued volunteering in the 12 months prior to applying".
This process is nuts.:eyebrow:

No email yet for me either... I see what you are saying, but maybe they just did away with those emails this year. I would really hope that they did not get to our applications last month, because this would greatly improve our chances of getting in this month. The only thing is, that I interviewed earlier than others who got in and I think it would just be crazy to review the applications backwards from date interviewed.
Maybe someone left our apps in their car :xf: and forgot to bring them to the meeting. LOL,,, maybe something else crazy happened.

Either way good luck next Thursday, because I think its the 3rd Thursday of the month again !!!

I received the site placement confirmation in the mail today (Chicago campus), dated for yesterday, 12/9, and I was part of the 2nd round of acceptances just for everyone's info.

"Applicant in process" since late september, interview invite today. Schedule for the 18th. Is there still hope for Chicago placement if I get accepted?

i got placed at the chicago campus too, yay!!

also, herewego: i think that they have committee meetings every 3rd thursday of the month, so it looks like your interview on the 18th will have just missed the december meeting. this means that at the earliest, you will have a decision in late january. from what people have said in this thread, it seems like the chicago track fills up in december/january, so you might still have a chance, but it might be a slim chance... HOWEVER, in the past, people have gotten chicago placement much later in the game (sometimes due to people with earlier acceptances/placements withdrawing their acceptances).

keep in mind, though, that this is just speculation on my part. good luck to you!
