Pre-II R

I am going to give this rejection email a 4/10. They didn't add any soothing words to soothe the hurt ego, however, they added a nice video for more info and a nice banner. So aesthetically, it is soothing to the eyes. I do have to knock off some points off due to how late this email was. It ruined the fun surprise of the rejection.

Have you checked the portal and is there an “admissions decision” tab there for you? If there isn’t something there and you’ve also had zero follow up post-interview from them I would 100% reach out to them.

I have, and my portal still just has the interview tab. okay, I think I will reach out to them, I just didn't want to come across as pushy or anything

That’s so weird… I definitely don’t think it’s being pushy! If anything, it shows you care about the decision (assuming you are polite of course haha)

Withdrawing OOS peoria A, I emailed the medadmit email address but they haven't responded. Is this normal for anyone else who withdrew or is there another method I'm not privy to?

Hoping that people who know they won’t attend will give up their seat so we can have some waitlist movement 🙏🙏

Does anyone know if UICOM sends rejections to people on the waitlist? Or is it just either a call and email if you're accepted or silence since you didn't get off the waitlist?

INTL A for Peoria, if anyone has a link to an accepted students gc would appreciate it!

EDIT: A for Chicago actually!!!!!! which I must admit I'm relieved about coming from a different country. Admissions made a mistake w my campus assignment when they sent the email Fri 05/02 and called me Mon 05/05 to confirm I wanted to transfer my file. Only posting to correct the SDN record for any future INTL applicants, pls don't harass adcom w my anecdotal experience! SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY n=1, I doubt this sort of mixup happens ever..??? This is my first A too so just a hell of a way to start off this next chapter LOL

does anyone know, based on last years forum or personal experience, do they do waves like this once a week? I know there was a wave Friday so maybe every friday?

(I know I'm insanely neurotic for this lol):

Last year people reported As off WL on SDN: 5/7, 5/16, 5/30, 6/2, 6/13, 6/21. These were just who posted on SDN so def not a full sample. So it seems kinda maybe they historically give some As each week in waves, but not like on a specific weekday each time (maybe bc of how long they give WL As to accept and PTE). This is entirely just info from last years SDN--they released a wave of As earlier this year than last so I wouldn't trust them to be super consistent with it this time.

LOL this is exactly what I wanted to see—as a lazy, neurotic person

It seems like they’ve been doing waves about every week and a half, and since they’re moving a week earlier than last year, I’d predict the next wave might be around next W/TH?

Of course, that also depends on how quickly this current group accepts or declines their offers.

But also, they might just have more spots to fill from the waitlist this year, which could explain why they're moving early. So the original dates might still hold—just with an extra wave on 5/2 and possibly another around 5/7.

Okay, I need to stop overthinking and go kiss some grass 😂

OOS A to Peoria at 5:15pm!

Super thankful to be in this position, but in all honesty, I really wanted Chicago to be close to family. That really is a dealbreaker for me. Is it worth an email to the admissions committee to try and switch, or do they seem adamant? I do have a DO acceptance I am happy to attend.

They really emphasized during the interview that campus assignments are final but I don’t think it would hurt to ask. Just don’t get your hopes up 🙁

I have had friends try to switch out of rockford and they say no very firmly. she even mentioned she has granaprents in chicago she is the sole caretaker of and they still said no (mentioning it to prove that no matter the cirumstance they dont seem to make exceptions)
