Rejected. Good luck to the rest of you!
Sorry to hear that 🙁. Seems like they're churning out these letters daily, as opposed to mass-mailing weekly.
When were you complete?

this myth has to stop, i'm sure no school looks for not-great-stats as a plus in admissionsRejected just now. complete 7/12. 🙁
I don't even have great stats either, not sure why I got the early cut.

that being said, chin up dude, the road to a successful career in medicine is paved with BU rejections
yikes....I was complete a day after you guys. that must mean mine is coming soon.....bwahhhhhhh!
I thought that BU was going in order of date of completion, so when people that were complete on 07/08 were receiving rejections, I thought that I was safe (I was complete 07/07). However, I was rejected last night (on a Sunday night, strangely enough). Boo.
Best of luck everyone!
I feel your pain. Why BU Why did you have to reject me so early in the yearHahaha. As a re-applicant, the first rejection of a new season before any invites is like salt on the open wound.
How do they notify you of a decision? Do they email you?

how the heck do they decide to reject a 36 without an interview? If I may ask, what was your breakdown?
Like I said, you will probably get into most of the cali schools so it is moot point. I know a lot of people who'd give anything to go to a Cali school over the ultra expensive BU any day of the week due to many different reasons.
But there are also some 3.5/33s like me!!!!
But if I could name one common quality that pretty much everyone here has, it is to have shown a commitment to volunteerism and/or a commitment to underserved populations and/or an experience outside your comfort zone (like overseas service of some kind).
.
Maybe they haven't given any interview invites yet.
well, he is a "health student."
Haha, correct. It's not like BU, or any school, goes thru and finds the really great stat people and says: "Oh, goody, let's reject them, they're too awesome for us!!"
BU is def not a stats *****, and they are looking for MORE than top numbers. But there are plenty, plenty of 4.0 GPAs here and plenty of 38+ MCATS.

Take heart top-stat people -- if BU isn't the place for you, you'll get in at other terrific places.
My friend and I were both rejected today. He has a 3.8/38 and I have a 4.0/39. I was complete 7/12 or so.
We both have over a year of research and two years of clinical stuff. He has some teaching. I have non-medical volunteering. I don't know why either of us got rejected.Damn. You both are very strong statistically. Any idea why the early rejection? (lack of research or volunteering?)

Nah there are people with those stats who got in but like you said too many applicants to take all the good applicants. I saw that you are also applying to a few other schools I'm applying to. Good luck with them. You will get interviews somewhere down the line.
Is anyone else annoyed by the posts of the gujuDoc guy? He seems to be the know-all person at Boston or something. Until you're a med student, I think you should tone down you opinions a bit.
Nah my experience is most californians are generally competitive enough that they round about with an acceptance somewhere. 😀 😀 Goodat the interviews.
Sooo true. I've not been rejected yet because I'm on hold due to certain reasons. Hopefully won't be this time, but i remember 2 years ago that rejections from BU were far more polite then a couple of the other ones i got 2 years ago or more recently from FIU. The worst was probably from FIU. I feel like my personal experience with BUSM seemed like they were far more fair as a school then FIU or a couple of other schools.
I've been ousted. First rejection of the cycle. ~3.8, low 30s mcat. There goes 110 dollars into the wind!
I was complete 7/15. Maybe i f'ed up my prerequisite grid 😉
