No prob: 34 (a bit low for pritzker too) , 3.75 gpa, 3 years of ft research and 3 years volunteering/internships at various hospitals, tons of leadership community service etc
 
How do you guys think UChicago would respond to an "In the area" email? I'm not sure if it would be received well, especially considering some of the people that have already been rejected.
 
i've been complete for over a month. do you think they'll take kindly to somebody updating their application (2 of my grades when I applied weren't in yet) and briefly describing why I'm so excited about Pritzker?

I mean, I feel like they would enjoy it, and that sole reason is part of why I'd love Pritzker. Enthusiasm and positive attitudes seem to be so essential to how they function.

For those that had interviews did UChicago specify that they would notify candidates on October 15? I know they call those accepted, but I don't remember if they told us they would call on the earliest date possible.

they didn't make any promises, but based on previous years, they should call the first batch of accepted students on October 15th...:xf:

boo, rejected, after ~a month under review. man, that was a curt rejection email, lol - was expecting one of the nicer soften-the-blow emails that other schools send 😉 good luck to everyone else!
 
i'm sorry to hear that dude. i've been under review for over 5 weeks, so i'm expecting something soon. not really expecting a whole lot, but i'm an optimist. maybe foolishly, but one all the same.
 
Interview Invite - complete 8/30

Does anyone know if they offer Friday interviews? There aren't any showing up on the calendar, should I wait and see if one does?

How do you check the status for the UofC application? Is it through the same portal where you completed the application? Would it be under the history heading? ???
 
How long was the delay between submitting your credit card payment and having the "My Secondary" tab acknowledge that the payment was received?

It warns that "there may be a slight delay between when you submit your credit card payment and when our staff is able to update the system." What's a slight delay? Hours? Days?

It seems odd for this to not be automated.

I think I remembered reading somewhere that the admin office needs to manually input the credit card info, thus the delay. I do think it would be strange for it not to be automated.

All they said on interview day was that the earliest you could hear about an acceptance is October 15th. So if you have already interviewed, I don't think all interviewees are automatically hearing from the office one way or another on October 15th. From what I understand, you are only hearing from them if you have been accepted. (Fingers crossed that happens to me! 🙂)

for what it's worth...i was there in mid-sept and they said we probably would not hear on oct 15. i think i remember hearing that it was likely by early november.
 
It has been 28 days since my application has been complete. Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Also, if you are placed on "hold" does the hold icon light up? It currently says hold under the "MD Only" but it is not lit up.

My application status currently states:

Your completed application has been sent to the Committee on Admissions for review. We look forward to learning about you and your accomplishments.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
 
i've been under review for almost 6 weeks.

i think that hold is reserved for those holding for MCAT scores. if you let your cursor hover over that icon for a bit, that should come up.

my status currently says the same. There's been a bit of movement on this forum recently, so I'm hoping for some news: good news in particular.

anyhow, good luck. i hope we all make it through this process alive.

can anyone verify if they'll actually call today as opposed to monday?
 
I've heard from some people that the AAMC told schools not to release anything until Monday. Is this true? If so, how come?
 
I've been freaking out all morning, especially after seeing that UMich sent out acceptances exactly at midnight.

I'm so relieved that I'm not the only anxious one out there!
 
Anybody heard back yet? This one guy I was interviewing with today said he got a message from them..

It was a voice message. Wasn't me though dude. I'm not even sure how he knew it was Chicago tbh. I feel like if no one from here has heard though it may not be legit.

I called the office to confirm that it's happening today. I even asked if acceptance phone calls will go into the evening, and the secretary said yes.

Haha, if I say the exact time I will be so identifiable, but I'll say it was between 2 and 3 EST.

I thought my interviews went well and I haven't heard anything. They only give about ~50 acceptances in the first batch, so I wouldn't worry too much.
 
i mean i got deferred at michigan too.. so i guess i am in the same situation with both schools

still, i was kind of hoping for scholarships and stuff too, but i dreamt too big 🙁

what does this even mean for us though? i feel like this can't be very good

when did you interview? (or around what time if you don't want to give the exact day). i interviewed in late sept and was hoping to get a sense of how long it might take....
 
Hey SDN,

I know you guys are all probably freaking out right now because it's 10/15, but don't go too crazy! 🙂 I interviewed August 31st, 2009 and didn't get accepted until the end of May, 2010 off the continued candidate list. I was placed on the continued candidate list in October.

Also, I just wanted to let you all know that I am available and happy to answer any questions you might have about Pritzker. Feel free to ask them here on the message boards or PM me.
