Bump.

Has anyone heard anything from Pritzker? I've been complete for 3 weeks now! Sigh...I guess I should have completed the secondary sooner, or found something to write about in the optional section.

Did people who get interviews write about themselves in the optional section?

It took four business days for my LORs to show as received on the status page.

Well, I am counting. Tomorrow should be the fourth business day since AMCAS sent my LORs....I hope Chicago reports me complete in the next couple of days....

Rejected! Not sure how much of a shot I would have had, but 36S, 3.7 GPA, top 5 US News UG.

Complete 8/19, rejected today. Best of luck everyone!

I used the optional section to talk about a hobby, so yes. For reference, I was complete for about a week when I got the interview invite.

For those who have interviewed or will interview at Chicago in the coming weeks, how long before your interview did you hear back about student hosts? I made a student host request back in July and am still waiting to hear back. My interview is Sept. 14th, so I'd like to know whether or not I'll need to book a hotel. Is it typical to not find out until just a couple days before? (They suggested this could be the case in an email.)

I did not write anything in the optional section and received an interview invite 2 business days after being complete.

I felt I already covered what I truly wanted to say in my essays/love letter to Pritzker, so I interpreted that section for what it is: optional.

I sent an email inquiring about my initial request for a host 3 days before my scheduled night in Chicago, but they didn't get back to me with a host until the night before...

I didn't hear back until about 2 days before my interview date, so DON'T worry at all. I think since this is the start of the process, all the medical students are just getting adjusted right now. Also in case you are worried you can make a reservation at UChicago's international house for a decent price (and it's conveniently located as well). You can always cancel the reservation when you hear back about the student host.

Hi, I've been in the md screen for 27 days...anyone else in there this long?

Complete today (exactly four days after LORs sent by AMCAS).

Anyone take longer than 4 business days for LORs to be marked received. I sent mine in last Thursday night. Maybe things slowed down for the holiday???

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the # of rec letters that we can send?

Thanks in advance! Good luck to everyone!

rejected.
OOS, 3.80/36R, solid research + EC's

good luck, guys.

What type of situation did you all you for your 'challenge' essay? (I'm especially looking at you, interview invitees)

I guess I've lived a fairly "boring" life...no fighting my way out of the ghetto, no instances of prejudice, nada. The only things I can think of to talk about are academic things (which seem to come across as whiney and trivial), and a few moral/ethical dilemmas (which I'm not sure if these are really what they're referring to for 'personal challenges'). Honestly, even the moral dilemmas are a bit 😴. What to do, what...to...do...

I didn't write anything extra, but it honestly might help to do so. Obviously don't just re-hash something said elsewhere though.

So... I've under review for a month now. I was just wondering whether the "Hold" button is highlighted if you are put on hold. Yes, the question sounds dumb, but just underneath the hold button on my page, I have a lock that appears to be locked. I can't remember what it looked like before since I figured it would be best to ignore the page until they sent an e-mail.

This waiting is killing me. 👎

I believe the lock button means that you cannot make additions/edit your application. If you are put on hold, I would guess the hold button lights up.

This is getting nerve-wracking to see people with awesome stats get flat out rejected.

I've been in review for 5 weeks now too...I have a feeling another batch of interviews and rejections is coming any day now..... definitely nerve-wracking!

How long it did it take you all for your status icons (secondary, recs, $$$) to light up (i.e., be "received")? All of mine are still gray, even though I submitted my secondary, paid the fee, and designated the letters a long time ago.

I'm assuming it must take a couple of days for their system to be updated, but I just wanted to be sure it wasn't normally automatic (meaning I did something wrong).

It took a few days for everything but LORs to be received; the LOR icon took a week or so.

My application has been under review for the past 6 weeks and I decided to call and ask the admissions office my status, hoping it would move things along. It did! Except... I was rejected a few hours after I made the call. :lame: I really like this school too!

Now I HOPE that was going to happen anyway, but I just wanted to share with everyone why patience is important!!!

Got my rejection yesterday (9/13).
Was complete on 8/9.
It's really unfortunate since I really like the school and I put a lot of time and effort into the essays, but oh well. Good luck to everyone interviewing here.

Held for later review as of today. *sigh*

Complete 8/9. Some chance is better than none :xf:

gl all

I scheduled an interview some days ago but it looks like I'm immediately going to have to reschedule. My boss is going to get suspicious if I keep disappearing every week to attend interviews. This would be 2 times easier if I were still a student but oh well.

Word. I feel like I should start faking a toothache pronto before he starts suspecting all of my "dentist appointments".

Did everyone who got an interview invite basically get it within a few days, rejected or put on hold if longer? It seemed that was the trend earlier in this thread, but it's tough to say if that's the pattern, or if it was just early in the cycle so they were moving faster.

Interview Invite!!! Within a few days of my new scores being released (on Tuesday), I'm headed to Chicago!

Complete: technically 9/22 (sent in secondary almost 1 month ago)
II: 9/24
Stats: 34O, cGPA 3.68, sGPA 3.65

Interviewing on 11/4!

I'm floored by this!!! So happy! 🙂

I got an invite back in the middle of July and I was complete for over a week first, and everyone else was hearing back within a day or two so I don't think it's a pattern. From what I understand, a faculty member is given your file and however fast or slow they get through it is when a decision will be made. Some faculty members are quick and others aren't so if you still haven't heard anything I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck!

I was complete 8/31 and still have heard nothing. I hope Pritzker doesn't keep applicants around until March before rejecting them.

Come on, Pritzker! I like your school, a lot. 🙂

Wow, now I understand the timing. What's the deal with my faculty member? I've been complete since 8/5. Anyone else waiting that long at this point?

anyone else complete around mid-sept get an interview invite? Please post if so

We're recording this episode in a little over an hour! Last chance to submit some questions for your parents!

Thanks for posting this! I just listened to the podcast you recorded with Joni a couple of weeks ago. I really appreciate the transparency in the interview process and what you look for in a future Pritzker student!

Quick Q, for people put on hold, did you receive an email saying so, or was it just a status change on the app homepage??

Similar question -- for those of you who are receiving interview invites or are being put on hold/rejected, what was the lapse between when you paid your secondary fee and you received notification?

I paid on Sunday night so I am not expecting it for a little while, but I was curious as I noticed people would get feedback in as little as a day or sometimes a couple of days earlier on...just wondering what the turnaround time is now.

Thanks a lot!

Just finished up the interview day and am currently at Midway waiting to fly back home. Prepare to be impressed if you're interviewing!

There are three interviews throughout the day (I had two before lunch and one after, but I don't think everyone had the same general schedule). One is with a clinician with access only to your PS, secondary, and ECs, one is a committee member with access to your entire app, and one is a med student with access to your PS and ECs. At least I think that was the scheme. All of my interviews were really relaxed and very conversational. There's a ~30 minute intro presentation in the morning before the group breaks up for interviews until the lunch/tour.

Lunch was pretty freakin delicious. Everyone gets a small salad, a personal sized deep-dish pizza, a breadstick, a cookie, and a drink. Best lunch thus far for me!

Best of luck everyone.

Nice to put a face to the (user)name. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the day.

Sounds like a great setup. I absolutely cannot wait. Very excited about this school! 🙂

Declined from interview after 4 weeks...

That will keep my confidence up for future interviews...

this school is probably my top choice right now. full month and still waiting for some sort of response for them =/

I've been complete since 8/5 too. Mind sharing your stats? I have lots of service experience and a 4.0 gpa, but very low mcat scores (for pritzker standards, they are pretty bad)
