Do you know if the interview is literally something that goes on for a few hours? or does that itme frame include a tour and stuff?

Most schools have 1-2 interviewers, at most one hour each...I can't imagine being interviewed for 4-5 hours straight...?

I would imagine it includes the tour and all that jazz. It would be ridiculous to have to endure a 4-5 hour long interview. What will we talk about?! :laugh:

I was told by a couple friends now in M2 at UIC that the day consists of either one interview with a panel of three, or three individual interviews with two faculty and one current student. I have heard that Peoria has a panel and that Chicago has individuals. I don't know about Rockford or Urbana. The rest of the time is taken up by a mini-orientation and campus tour designed to sell the school to us, as they assume most of us will have other interviews and other offers. All in all, other than the actual one-on-one Q & A, the day is fairly stress free insofar as you are not being constantly scrutinized by every school affiliated person you come across. Though while you don't necessarily always have to be "on" while you're there, it can't hurt.

NOOOO I'm on the 4th at 11:30AM! 🙁 *sob sob*

There's only one benefit I see with this schedule....seeing the city for the weekend and not missing class..other than that, I don't get to meet AvoidtheTiger! 🙁

I scheduled the early session on the 4th. When scheduling the interview, she said 11:30 PM, but I had assumed she just spoke incorrectly. Is the late session really 11:30 PM? Wow

shoot - at 9:30EST the webpage said the 4th was filled... so I didn't even ask about it. bah. I feel like such a dummy now I assumed you would come the 8th with me. 🙁((((

Sorry...11:30AM ..I'll fix that lol. Did y 'all get any information from her about the day? All she told me was be here at 11:30am, we'll have a tour/luncheon/actual interview...a letter will follow with the information. No actual student hosting unless i want to call Housing office myself. I think I'll just get a hotel for a few days and enjoy the sights myself..for a 2nd time lol.

So sorry again. 🙁(( was there really OCT 4th interviews available this morning? I feel so silly now.

The L is super easy to get to boystown. Just take the red line to belmont or addison.

I've been having alot of friends stay at the hostels in downtown chicago -- which might be an option to look into for cheaper housing. (Just be careful about bedbugs)

I believe so. I called this morning and scheduled for Oct 4 at 9:00am. Though it sounded like there weren't too many more spots left for that date.

Thanks for the info! I was going to say, you oculd call and beg!! 🙂 I am probably going to stay at Travelodge..really close to the stop for the Pink line and blue line to the aeroport.
 
Applicant in process as of this morning!!!!! 😀 So happy, this is my #1!
 
Apparently an interview was offered on 09/03 but I didn't check my status until today. A bit surprised to hear this soon, considering how I'm OOS with no ties.

Booked appointment for 10/21 in the morning. Could have gotten as early as 10/06 but the day wasn't convenient for me.

I got this same email the day I added this school, and my status says that the secondary has been sent. However, I have not gotten a secondary 😕

I emailed them asking where I could access the application, but no response yet.

yeah, I've had "applicant in progress" for what feels like weeks now (and considering 1 week real time is like 1 month obsessive-checking time, that's long! 😀)

Let's hope we get some answers soon - good answers!!! :luck:

I would call if it takes more than 10-15 days, some people get stuck in a void and won't get letters marked complete until they call. It happened to me last year, I was in letter review purgatory for 30 days before calling, then was complete within minutes.
 
OMG! How did I NOT know about the status check website?? I kept checking the supplemental website for anything. I even have the email where they sent the link of the status website, and somehow I didn't read that part...

So what does "Application is in progress" mean exactly? Does it just mean your file is complete and under review? I just checked it now so I have NO idea how long it has been "Application is in progress." I submitted the app on 8/15.

I think application is in progress means you're complete and in line to get reviewed, then "applicant in progress" means your file is being reviewed (based on what I read on SDN) However, some people - including myself - have had "applicant in progress" for weeks so I'm not sure what it's worth.

I remember getting the supplemental e-mail the day after they sent me the info about how to check on our status. You'll probably get it later today, though I don't know why it's ordered like that.
 
I was just verified on AMCAS and got the initial email from UIC with my password to the area to monitor my app, but I didn't get the secondary.

It just says
"Contact Medical College Admissions at 312-996-5635 for Further Information"
What does that mean? My MCAT score is not yet in btw...but wouldnt it just say "app not complete"??​

I also had a weird incident millee--the e-mail for the password was sent to my parent's e-mail address 😕 I also found a secondary for MCW there (excited about this one but sad that it has been sitting around for a month 😡:meanie:) How weird. Better late than never I suppose 🙄

I think they've been having problems with it...I've noticed several people on the board who got the secondary weeks later. I applied 8/31, got the status check email on 9/1. It said that the secondary had been sent 9/1; but it wasn't. I called the admissions office, and they sent me the secondary invite today......
 
Does UIC send everyone a secondary?

I received one today, but not sure if I should be happy because I thought maybe they send to everyone 🙄😕

but i'm filling it out anyway!!! : D Excited : ) now 🙂:laugh::xf:

Complete: 8/23, Applicant in Process: 9/01, OOS, stats on mdapps.

I got the " Applicant in process" today!!

I don't know if it means anything, but I'm just praying that I'll get an interview!:xf:😀 so happy, this is definitely my first choice of school.
But my stats are not fantastic and i'm OOS 🙁. Hopefully they give me a chance !

for AMCAS application, it was verified on 9/08 (i turned the application on 8/10). As for the secondary for UIC, I turned it in on 9/12 and was marked complete 9/15/10

Congrats congrats!! Gosh I wish I would get an interview here. I know my chances are slim to none but I'm still Applicant in Process so who knows lol.

Does anyone think it's too late to submit my primary here? I've been verified since the beginning of august, and I am complete at every school that I've applied to thus far. However, I'm getting a bit nervous and thinking about applying to another school. I'm OOS 3.5/29P, if that helps.
