Wow, I cant believe you were waitlisted with those stats. Sorry, good luck. It was a no go for me this time.

I was rejected this time around as well...but the reasons given to me when I called for feedback on my application were not significant at all. I didn't have enough research? hmmm. Anyway, good luck to the rest of you. It wasn't meant to be.

IS accepted yesterday. I think all the acceptances have been sent out. I do expect there to be movement on the waitlist though. I know a few people personally that haven't decided whether their going or not.

...you should convince them to go elsewhere 🙂 I promise I will be a better classmate than them....

I was told that when there is movement from the waitlist they will call you to inform you of your acceptance.

Also, I was told that in past years a good deal of movement happens on the waitlist. For example, it's rare for only 4-5 people to get in off the WL. Apparently, it's usually more than that.

On May 15th, people who have been accepted at several schools must tell the schools they don't want to go to that they won't be attending. Therefore some movement may happen prior to May 15th, but the big movement will happen after the 15th.

Agreed with the above few posts. I was told by Pat that all acceptances have been given out and that movement should occur after May 15th. So does anyone know when the movement typically "ends?" Also, should we assume that nothing is going to happen on April 15th? The waiting process sucks.

anyone heard anything lately? I have tried calling the office for the last couple of days and keep missing them. Probably going to send an email to see if any waitlist movement has begun.

I can answer your questions Martij... I called the office a few days ago and Cathy informed me of the following:

There has been some movement on the OOS wailtlist (OOS and IS WL are seperate) but not a ton - most occurs around/after May 15th.

Movement can continue all the way through the Summer up until a week before class starts.

If accepted we will receive a phone call, if rejected we will receive a letter in the mail.

Hope that helps.

That does help, thanks. Im top third so the faster this thing moves the more hope I have for finally getting in (3rd time on waitlist for me 🙁 )

Hey everyone!

I'm on the bottom 1/3 of the OOS waitlist... so chances aren't too hot for me this year. Does anyone know if I can call them and get feedback about how I can improve my application for the next application cycle or will they take that as me withdrawing my application? Also does anyone know if Nevada offers exit interviews?

Thanks and best of wishes to all of you.

Martij, this is your third time on the waitlist at UNR? If so, what third were you in the previous two waitlists?

bottom third both times. Upper third this time. I so badly want it to work out, i cant handle another year of this...

Im assuming nobody has heard anything lately, but I am just checking in to see. My birthday is May 16th so maybe I will get a sweet birthday present? Too bad it is still a month and a half away...

Yeah, I haven't heard wind of any movement. I've decided to give them my mom's number and go traveling. I'm going crazy waiting... Figured I may as well have an adventure in the meantime.

Hey everyone I am new to this forum and it's nice to see everyone going through this horrible process together. I got waitlisted and am too afraid to ask where I am on the list. Here are my stats.

IS, 38 MCAT, 3.64 Biomedical Engineering/Psychology

I got into another school but i would be nice to go to Nevada to save some money

Where did you do BME?

Just call, it won't hurt you. Nobody blames people for wanting to know their WL position.

I did BME at Northwestern in Illinois and I was gonna call sometime this week

According to Pat, there has been a small amount of movement on the wait list but not a ton. I called to see if my position had changed, but they don't recalculate your position in the various thirds, nor will they tell how many have moved off. The usual cryptic-ness.

Does anyone know when fin aid will go out?

anyone called lately. I have called a couple times and feel as though I sound like a broken record so I have given it a rest for a couple weeks. Hopefully the middle of may brings good news!

I called a couple days ago. Same thing... "some movement, but most will happen after May 15th." On a more positive note, a friend of mine who is already attending UNSOM talked to Pat recently. She told him that there is a lot more movement than usual prior to May 15th.

just got an email from pat, as im sure many of you did, stating that they are going to decide whether or not to eliminate the WICHE state assistance that Nevada gives by giving an averaged tuition to students to those states. Pretty bummed. It would up tuition for me to like 41,000 if I get accepted. I will still pay it, but just kinda sucks.

Well may 15 has finally come. Let the waitlist movement begin! I hope...

Got a phone call about a week ago, accepted!! WICHE certified applicant, placed on the OOS waitlist in February.

I am middle 1/3 IS..from all the info I can gather there is about 25 on IS WL and 20 on OOS WL...also on the IS WL there has been already 4 or 5 people off of it pre May 15, which is a lot since there is usually only 1 or 2. I think there is going to be a lot more movement by early next week.

Any word on if they upped the tuition to "rape you" levels?

No, I guess they won't know for sure until the middle of June. I kinda wish they would do it now if they are ultimately going to do it. It might convince some individuals to go to their state schools and give more positions to those on the waitlist. Its going to suck fitting the bill, but tons of loans and actually getting to be a physician is better than never getting the chance to become one.

Dang that's a hard position. I'm sorry amigo.

I'm on the top 1/3 of the IS waitlist and still no word. Has anyone heard of anybody else getting off the IS list?

ya I think there was 2 people who got off the wait list this past week. So that makes it about 7 now, you must be next wknott

I am pretty sure all hope is lost. I just cant really fathom people moving off the waitlist after the 5/15 deadline, even though when I call they say there is usually a lot of movement in June. To me it just doesn't make sense. Either you accepted or rejected your offer by now right?

I called yesterday and from what I gathered most of the movement has already passed for IS and it doesn't seem very likely that there will be anymore.

Just talked to Pat this morning. She told me that she still expects there to be some movement and to not give up hope.

WL movement doesn't even start until the end of May for most schools. Although I guess UNR is a ranked WL so it's a little different. Either way, some people wait for financial aid etc. to make their decisions, or might be taken off of waitlists at other schools.

I just heard from a friend of mine that they did waive the out of state tuition average for incoming students. This isn't official but he is a pretty reliable source. Might mean some movement for the OOS list...I hope...
