From what I've heard, they'll send things out around 5pm tomorrow. Think about it, the very last thing they want is to be bombarded with calls from panicking premeds all day Monday.

are they really? man all the other schools are sent out already =(
 
Yes, most of them sent out their emails by 8:00 am this morning.

i'm so nervous about UTMB also. come on UTMB!!!! i tried calling their admissions office, they disconnected their phone line lol

I interviewed at 6 schools too..statistically I thought I might get at least one darn offer..but I guess not..i feel like ****🙁

i only interviewed at two schools. didnt think i would get prematched into UTSW. all my hope is in UTMB! lol

Im with you! I can't imagine how hard it is to interview 900 people and having to pick 1/3 of them.

Do most schools send out at least enough prematches to fill their whole class? I heard that they usually send out more than their class size. I'm getting nervous as the time is ticking down.

Normally schools (Texas more so) prematch more than their class size; because most people who get one offer, get an offer from another school also... But I think UTMB is going to be very careful this year about class size. 😀 I'm sure they do not want to have to deal with deferments again.

Last year they prematched ~400. They announced that during lunch on my interview day. Needless to say, I thought for sure that meant I wasn't going to get in, but I did on Feb 1, first choice, so don't let pre-match numbers scare you. A LOT of people who receive one prematch offer will receive multiple, meaning most of the pre-match offers don't actual result in seats getting filled at any school.

That being said, they'll probably offer less this year since they over-accepted last year.

Just got an acceptance email here at 3:23 PM CST. I am soooo relieved and feeling good now. Best of luck to everyone else!
 
Yessssss, Got prematched here 5 mins ago. So, I guess they are sending invites trickle by trickle in batches today.

I just now received an acceptance email from UTMB. It came in at 3:23 PM. This is my first acceptance so far. I have interviewed at 5 schools in Texas. Congrats to everyone else that received offers today from any of the Texas schools.

3.97 GPA/4.0 sGPA, 34 MCAT, IS, Interviewed 9/24

I've creeped on this forum long enough. Its nice to finally have an informative post for others.
 
Don't worry guys, there might be more pre-matches left for UTMB, since not many have been reported yet. :xf:

Congrats to everyone who got accepted to UTMB (or any other medical school!!) today. Enjoy this moment... you'll definitely appreciate being able to look back on this joyous moment when medical school starts to feel overwhelming... helps you remember why you wanted to be buried under that enormous pile of work in the first place! :laugh: But seriously, congrats 🙂

To those who are still waiting, chin up and keep rocking those interviews. I didn't get a single prematch offer but I got in my #1.

So don't give up!!! I look forward to having you all as future classmates and colleagues! 😀

...Back to studying for my test lol... (procrastinating never goes away...🙄)
 
I just got an interview invite for 12/3 lolllll my whole experience with this school has just been incredibly odd

Is Dec 3 the last interview date? anyone know? i am instate and transmitted 9/30 with 3.89 gpa and 31Q mcat and have not heard anything from this school!

on their website it says its the last...but it does say "tentative" dates. I would call to double check

I was talking to someone on admissions yesterday and he said that there are 3 more dates left but didn't specify what the dates were.
 
does anyone know when the next pre-match batch will be sent? and how many total batches are sent?

Maybe they're going to prematch less because of last years debacle. At least that's what I'm hoping considering I didn't get a golden ticket to UTMB. Guess we're headed to the match.

3 of my friends (one of which is from a different state) and I prematched at UTMB. More people prematched than you think, they are just not posting. I didn't really the see the point of posting either. But keep your head up, UTMB may still send out more prematches.
 
my friend called UTMB. they prematched around 50 the other day. hopefully more offers soon =(

Schools generally prematch more than their number of seats because people end up declining. However, last year was somewhat odd because the majority of the people prematched to UTMB decided to accept. This resulted in an overdraft. They basically had to offer full rides to some people that were already accepted to get them to defer a year and enter in the class of 2015 (our class). I believe there were 20+ people who deferred.

I guess UTMB will either send more prematches later, or would rely on the match like UTH for the overwhelming majority of their seats.
