Like me, I'm sure others of you out there have been refreshing your email every five minutes. I finally gave in and called admissions, the next round of acceptances should be early next week. Good luck everyone!

Can someone please tell me how you are supposed to know what your username and password is? I can't find it in any of the past email and I know its the same as the secondary app but is it your AAMC ID? I would greatly appreciate any help!

Thanks, good to know. :xf:

Thanks for calling. I wanted to call them, but I feel like I've already used up my "quota."

Limetime - I can't find anywhere on the website detailed descriptions, list of topics, old syllabi, for the individual courses in years 1&2. Is there anywhere we can find those?

Is it possible to get the entire year 3&4 electives catalog in one pdf document?

thanks.

Can someone please remind me what are usename and password is supposed be?

It should be your AAMC ID as the username and your birthdate MM/DD/YY as the password.

Just received pre-interview hold notification. Does anyone know what the chances are after receiving this notice? OOS average MCAT, above average GPA.

ditto. do they actually reject anyone post-secondary, pre-interview (for real, not that mistake they made back in October), or do they just put everyone on hold?

Some people have been "for real" rejected post-secondary, pre-interview.

Have they rejected anyone post secondary post hold pre interview? I searched the thread and found some inconclusive info. Seems like most get interview post hold, though we are getting later in the season, so that might change things.

It took me 15 minutes to sort this out 😕. I thought the answer was yes, but if your info appears inconclusive, we're looking at the same thing.

So has anyone been on hold for a while (like a month or more) and is still on hold? I'm just trying to get an idea of exactly what the hold status means. I"m assuming most "on hold" people don't get interview invites....

Sorry...that was unclear. I found one or two who claimed rejection post hold pre interview, but I believe I found later posts indicating a reversal of these rejections. The truth remains slightly elusive here.

The only place that I know of that has any information on courses are the two websites: ArizonaMed and the OMSE site. We access all of that information through AZ Med, but it requires a log in. Let me see if I can find another, public site. As for syllabi, I am not sure how helpful they would be. Aside from basic blocks descriptions listed elsewhere, the syllabi contain all of the learning objectives for the whole block, making them huge documents. Accordingly, they are property of the COM, and we are not allowed to distribute them publicly. You may be able to contact the school to get an abridged version.

I can answer specific questions or give you an overview of how things work and what the courses are like.

Crikey! I got accepted to medical school today!

I interviewed on 12/13. Good luck to all who are waiting to hear back!!

No such luck here, just another, albeit polite, "keep waiting" email...

I'm thinking waitlist is looking like my best option.... given, they've historically taken 30-40 off the list.I'm just glad I have at least one acceptance to hold onto for dear life!

GL all!

Same email for me....

I got that e-mail too but I interviewed on Jan 6th. So it's expected. When did you guys interview? Wishing y'all goodluck! :luck:

November 29th for me... GL to you though. Not sure how recent "safe" is for this release (I was eligible for the mid-December round of accpetances, and I interviewed 11/29)

So does anyone know if they will switch to a P/F system for the pre-clinical years? Searching for it online I found this: http://epc.medicine.arizona.edu/node/27

The website states that "in Years I & II, the student will receive a grade of Pass (P) or Fail (F)" but what confuses me is that it says "policies take effect July 1, 2010", yet all the class of 2015/2014 students I spoke to tell me that their grading is H/P/F.

I got the "not accepted this round" email, interviewed Oct 14.

Accepted! Yes! Interviewed December 9th. This was the first round I was eligible. 😀

I can't speak for anyone that you have spoken to, but as it stands, the grading system is P/F. The only change that may be coming is whether or not you will be able to include a graph of your percentiles with your dean's letter. I think they are removing this option for next year's class, but this is just what I have heard.

Congrats to all acceptances and GL to WL! Also, in past years the WL has gone into the 70's, so there is hope!

Ok, so I didn't get a "You're in" email nor a "you're still in the running" email. Did they just not get to the Z's (last name starts with z) before the office closed or what? The anticipation is killing me!

I got the same not accepted this round email too. interviewed 11/29. 3 more chances guys. Patience!

Including percentiles doesn't make the curriculum a true pass/fail then if those internal rankings exist. Do you know who I would contact to find out (for sure) if the internal rankings will be removed starting with the class of 2016?

The thing about including percentiles is that currently you have the option to or not. So, your transcript could just look like a true P/F. I believe for your class you will not even have that option, making it even more purely P/F. I would true the office of medical student education. I also am completely sure they have decided. I am referencing an email from last summer from the old Dean of Student Affairs. We currently have an interim dean, but you could try that office as well.

For CBI, do these occur every week? Are they given in the format: case introduction (Monday) and then case "solution" (Friday)?

Well, they used to be in a given format - get the case the weekend prior, start working through it in the Tuesday session, and resolve it in the Friday session after researching any pertinent topics between Tuesday and Friday to bring back to the group. They are currently experimenting with different formats, so I can't say for sure what the format will be next year.

Hi maseface. I also interviewed 12/9 PM session. Just wondering if admissions told you that this was the first round we were eligible? For some reason I thought we were eligible the 2nd round in December but I'm glad this is the first one ! CONGRATS! =)

We were told that while we were technically eligible for the December accepts, none of us should expect to get in during that round. In my book that makes this the first round for us! Thanks! I'm not sure if you were accepted but were you in the AM or PM group?

Ohhh right. gotcha. I have not been accepted =(
I was in the PM session

Well I personally don't think you have any reason to worry as of yet since this was basically the first round for you. I was in the PM session as well so we most likely met! Good luck!

Did someone mention that they knew what the upcomming dates were for acceptances? I thought I read something but could not find it in the thread... Anyhow...Although I recieved the keep waiting email, I interviewed 01/13, so I am expecting to wait until a late Feb date...so if anyone has any clues when that might be I would greatly appreciate it.

+1....I interviewed last week and was told that I would not be eligible for the acceptances on Monday (even though I received the waiting e-mail for some reason) but would be eligible for the next round.

I called the admissions office a few weeks ago and was told that they did not have any specific dates outlined; rather, they "try to release towards the end of the month."

With 3 more acceptance dates left, I'm not really positive how they will be distributed. Final acceptances / waitlist / rejections are slated to come out in mid-late March. That means will most likely be a "mid-month" acceptance round sometime in February - March. What do you guys think? Good luck to all!

Interviewed Yesterday and everyone was accommodating and nice. I had an awesome time at UA yesterday.. I love MMI.

just received an email saying some prereqs were incomplete... post-interview. 😕 i assumed they checked these things prior to sending out interview invites. going to email them for clarification but i hope this doesn't affect their decision

I got this same email! I had to re-send my prerequisites to them. This made me unsure as to whether or not I have been considered yet, but I interviewed on Dec. 9th. 😕

That sounds pretty weird. I think you should call in just to make sure if you haven't already.
