I just graduated in May, making me a Post Baccalaureate student, but my medical advisory committee is making a committee letter for me. However, that option is only for Non-Post-Baccalaureate student. Anyone know how I should fill this out? This is Step 6 on the Secondary in case you don't know what I'm talking about.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you're a "Post-bac" unless you graduated a while ago, and then returned to a school to do pre-med pre-reqs that you didn't do in college. I graduated six years ago but haven't taken any extra classes, and I don't consider myself "post-bac." I'm still using my undergrad committee.
Like I said, I could be wrong. But it sounds like you're okay. Just say you're Not a Post-bac and then it gives you a place to name your premed advisor.

You're not a postbacc. A postbacc must have taken classes after graduating college.

Side Note: does taking time off just imply you haven't been a full time student only or does working full time count as time off?

am i a postbacc even if i just took one class (physics) as a non-degree seeking student and was not in a program?

Thanks for the clarification!

yeah i got the page could not be found page also after submitting my application. dont know what the deal is with that. also i got worried when i previewed the secondary after submission my work info wasnt included in the preview. did anyone else have that issue?

Yes. You and I have the same story. I think it's fine, seems that only one item you appears in your history no matter how many you write in.

Yeah, same thing happened to me too. I thought maybe because I wrote too much...? But I wrote exactly 100 words and that's the limit so I don't know what it is.

Also, are you only allowed to access the printable version of your secondary once? That seems a bit weird...

I have taken off at least a year since college graduation

I'm a non-trad, started work right after graduation. Just recently decided to switch careers after 5 years. I don't really consider working full time as "taking off time" but not 100% sure if I need to answer this question. Any insight? Thanks!

Anyone else have an opinion on the pixels of the picture? I thought 160x125 were the exact pixel specifications, not just the estimation of the ratio. Im sure it doesnt matter much but just wondering what everyone did. It seems small but large enough to see what the person looks like if its a head shot.

Only one of mine is showing up too, hopefully that's okay!
One down :-D

Hey everyone,
Did anyone have a problem uploading a picture? I browsed for the file and clicked upload, the page refreshed, but the picture has not shown up. When I try to click save&continue, it says I forgot a required field (aka the photo). Any thoughts? I'm using Google Chrome and I tried Firefox, but the problem persists.

I just submitted.

However, I answered two of the questions on the history section ([1]if you are taking time off this one year while you apply and [2] if you have any payed work during undergrad) and only one of the questions appeared as completed on the printable version of my application after i submitted.

Did anyone else have this problem 😕

For the time taken off during undergrad questions, I took off about a month of school after a serious skiing accident. You think I should include this or are they referring to taking time off to pursue other interests/programs/activities?

YUP. Exactly what happened to me. I think a few other people above in the thread had the same problem. I wonder if its worth a call to the admissions office just make sure everything was correctly submitted?

Hey guys quick question.... for the question asking "explain if you have received an F", although I did not receive any "F" for any non-zero credit course, I did receive an F in a pass/fail zero credit course titled "Leadership & residential college." The course was required for students in my undergrad who were in the "residential college program" (which meant we had to do an x number of programs, and submit program hours to receive a passing grade). It was mandatory to take the same course for all the semesters i participated in this res college program, and I received all "P's" for all semesters except one. The semester I received an 'F', I could not submit my programming hours b/c I was sick and got that grade.
SO, I already submitted my AE secondary, and selected no I did not receive any F (I just realized the above situation after submitting). Is it worth it to email admissions with an addendum saying I forgot to attach the explanation.. or should I just let it be ...? I really don't want to blow my chances at this school, its one of my top choices... Please help me decide, thanks!!!

Hmm...I'm glad to hear it wasn't just me. I probably won't call the admissions office, but if anyone does feel free to pass along the information 😛

Everyone has had this problem so I'm pretty sure its fine and we don't need to call. But post to confirm if you do.

Weird. I submitted mine and all the history questions I answered showed up on the printable version.

Really? Did you do a lot of them? It seems like everyone who has 2 has had this problem. I'm just wondering maybe there's a threshold for the display before it increases? Like someone else and I both wrote the working in school and what are you up to since graduating questions and only saw one?

Did you have like 4 questions written out?

1/2 of my mini essays showed up, but there was definitely info missing from mine. I saved&continued all essays together, so that's not the issue. I think the problem is on their side, not ours.

I had 3

Can anyone help me out with this question? After I completed my undergraduate studies and graduated, I finished my prereqs at a local CC. Does that make me a post-bacc? I'm a bit confused because it doesn't seem to ask me any questions about my pre-med committee if I choose that option, even though I did go through my undergrad's pre-med committee.

Same problem for me. I had 2 but only 1 shows up.

Can you not log back in once you've submitted? I keep getting a "Page Not Found"

For those of you who provided an essay because you are not a full time student this coming year and are taking the year your applying off to do something else. It says to follow up on the completion of what you say your going to do. How exactly do we follow up? Do we email them about our plans and how if they have changed or been completed? If so, do you do this before the interview? After the interview? Any clarification on this will help.

I don't have any inside knowledge on this. I imagine if that you put down an event - i.e. running a marathon, attending a conference, then you might update through email them letting them know how it went. I wrote down my employment - I can't imagine when I would be updating them on that.

Well I'm doing a couple of things both big and small. For example, doing research will not change any time soon, However, if I get published I would like to tell them. So I guess I can always email them for that. Also, I am applying for other things on the side that won't be finalized until then end of the summer so I didn't mention them, but if I do get the positions, do you think I should email them as an update to what I'm doing. I would definitely like to tell them, but not sure if it would be appropriate to tell them via email, or mention in an interview.

As a reapplicant who took a year off for the first cycle, do I answer this question for my plans for the following year?

I plan to take off this year, after just having graduated, while I apply to medical school
(Please explain what you plan to do this year and please provide confirmation of your plans when they are complete.)

I assume they want to know what I plan to do the following year, but I don't fall into the category of having just graduated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Since you didn't just graduate, I don't think this question applies to you. There is another one that asks if you have taken a year or more off from school that would probably apply to you.

Yeah but that question doesn't ask what you plan to do during the following year, which is information I feel they want.

For the work during academic year question, should we also mention summer jobs or are they strictly referring to jobs during Sept-May

anyone know when the earliest they could get back to us for interviews after submitting the secondary?

My interpretation of the following 2 questions:

Sept-May

Taking time off = not straight from undergrad to med school. So yes.

I contacted the admissions office, and they told me that if you completed your pre-reqs after you graduated from your undergrad but it was not in an official post-bacc program, then you are NOT considered a post-bacc student. That makes sense, because you wouldn't even have a "post-bacc adviser" in that case.

anyone having trouble uploading their picture? mine is the right size!

I'm kind of in the same boat. From what I have heard the best way to notify the school of anything new that you are doing is to send them an official letter via snail mail. But only send the letter if it is something that would significantly add to your app (getting published would definitely qualify in my opinion).

So slight issue.

I payed the application fee, but like an idiot I went back through the application before submitting. However, it would not let me get to the submission page without paying the application fee again. So I payed it, and as a result Einstein charged me twice.

Do you guys think cancelling one of the payments on my card would affect the secondary?

Don't cancel the payment. Just contact the school about the situation and they will refund you.

I have the same problem. I emailed them yesterday, still waiting for a response.
