I haven't heard of this before, but I just wanted to chime in that October is a very holiday heavy month in Judaism. I think the students there said they had an extra day off almost every week or something.

Yeah, I have some Jewish friends so I know that both September and October are absolutely full of Jewish holidays. My guess would be that this is a significant reason as to why interview season may be a little later at Einstein as opposed to some other schools.

Haha, after I interviewed at Einstein last year I remember one of my favorite things about the school was the abundance of both Christian and Jewish holidays built into the schedule. 🙂 Also, for those of you who might be curious, I interviewed in October and was rejected in January.

II this morning, but the dates available are in March. 😕 Do I even have a shot?

+1 Same here. I really don't get it, isn't March like the VERY end of interview season? I feel like all the spots will actually be full by then...

does anyone know if einstein is receptive to LOIs pre interview? Ive been complete since mid july and am still waiting for an interview invite. Thnks all!

I got an interview invite this morning for March also! So excited!
Stats: 3.6
MCAT: 30 R (Balanced)
Complete: Sept. 20

Are there any current einstein students who interviewed late also?

Also got an II this morning. Are we interviewing for the waitlist ? Complete 08/10

I submitted a month ago and have yet to receive a "complete" email. I've called twice to see what the hold up was and was told that the system hasn't updated my file (there was nothing else for me to do on my end, since my letters had already been assigned on AMCAS). I don't understand why the system is taking forever to update my file, but something about "a lot of holidays" etc was the reason I got.

Now I'm seeing that the earliest interview dates are in Feb 2013, which I've heard is vaguely disadvantageous. Sigh. Did anyone else experience this?

Call them again. This happened to me and IT dept had to get involved because my file was not marked as complete. Thus even though I submitted 07/19 they didn't receive it till 08/09, then I was marked complete 08/10. PM me if you want the phone number I called to get it fixed.

So what's the word on interviewing for waitlists or not getting an interview? Does anyone have any insight as to what we can expect in the coming months?

Einstein interviews until the beginning of May, and I know people here who interviewed in March who were accepted. Einstein doesn't just fill the class early and then waitlist everyone else. There's still hope!

I second that. My boyfriend is a third year here and I know many of his friends & classmates who applied late, interviewed late (i.e. March and later), and were accepted. Einstein is one of the few schools that really is friendly to late-appliers.

was complete exactly a week after you. IS...any chance? I am just going nuts now. This is one of my top choices and my hope is fading away 🙁

I don't think they necessarily looked over you. They may need to work out more available interview dates before they send out more invites.

It seems to me that they're spreading out the interviews a lot more this year, the number of applicants has increased and they realized that a lot of great applicants apply later in the cycle.

Im signed up for the March 5 interview 🙂 I can't imagine how much will have happened between now and then though lol. It's so far away!

No worries, I have plenty of classmate who interviewed later and got accepted. They don't give away all their seats before then..

NOOOOO!!! My interview got canceled due to the hurricane alert.........I don't want to be moved to the late interview batch!!! 🙁 Why..............

That sucks! Did you try telling them that you wouldn't mind taking your chances with the hurricane? Jk, no seriously I'm sorry to hear. Hopefully you won't be pushed back that far.

The interview was extremely friendly and laid-back. Everyone says so, but I felt especially lucky with my interviewer, who was all smiles and kind words. It really made it easy to say everything I wanted to say. I don't think this is conventional, but at the end he told me he would be writing very positive reviews, and that he has a strong feeling that I would be accepted. I've never heard of that being said before during an interview, but I'll take it! Enjoy the day, and make sure you join the group when they check out the student housing - it's pretty sweet for the amazing prices!

That's pretty much what my interviewer said last year and I got accepted!! YAAYAY!!

Between the end of Sept. and the 3rd week of Oct. we didn't have a full week of school. We had 3 day of classes and then a 4 day weekend for 3 weekends! I think because of that, the interview season for Einstein is a little pushed back since they don't do interviews on those days!

Note for those that interview early, don't be too over confident that you will get accepted as well. I had a friend that interviewed a week or 2 before me and he got rejected while I got accepted. I think Einstein really find students that are a great fit for them!

You are not interviewing for a waitlist spot! Einstein is one of those schools that do interview late and accepts students late in the process as well!

NOPE! COME AND VISIT! YOU WILL LOVE IT HERE!

Like many of you guys, I will be interviewing late as well. It is a consensus that there will be a slight disadvantage of interviewing late at Einstein right?

Slight. You're still interviewing for spots in the class (as opposed to the waitlist), but some of those spots will be taken already.

Thats amazing! You only have to wait a month or so before hearing back from them then. I've been waiting since early September for a decision 😕

i was complete in august 17...so it was about time 😉

So this was kinda addressed earlier but I didn't quite understand. So, correct me if I'm wrong, Einstein will do non-rolling until sometime in January. At that time they will let people know their decisions and then from January until whenever they do rolling admissions. Is this right? Doesn't seem like it.

I'm not too sure about Einstein, but thats how UCSF does it. I interviewed early September, and Einstein said they won't let us know until late December at the earliest. I haven't heard anything about admittance dates like some other schools, so I would assume Einstein is rolling? I can't seem to find anything in their booklet about it and I can't navigate their webpage at this time.

A spot might've just randomly opened up. Congrats on it!

Last year, I heard back right around Christmas! It was unexpected because I expected to hear back from January. The letter in December isn't an official notice of acceptance. The official notice is at Jan. 15.

So my interview is for Dec. 12, should I be expecting something jan. 15?

Anyone interviewing on Friday and trying to get through to them? My flight just got canceled and the office is closed today, email is down. Should I try to get there? Anyone in this situation?

I have friends who live in the area. They told me they'll be lucky to have power back by Friday. They'll understand if you need to reschedule. Who knows if admissions will be operating by Friday anyway

Hi, I am in the same situation I have an MSTP interview for Thursday night (social) and Friday (interview). My flight has not been cancelled yet. From what I hear, La Guardia airport is non-functional until Thursday most likely due to flooding (CNN). Also if you go to this link you can get updates (the next one is at 4pm) http://einstein.yu.edu/. I am sure they will understand about your cancellation, but I know the feeling, you don't want to leave it for Jan/Feb. I hope my interview is still on as well. Any MSTP updates? I emailed, but no response yet.

My flight was cancelled, and still no update even after 4:30pm so I am going to email them about rescheduling my MSTP interview. Btw, are they rolling or no?
