Sorry for the redundancy. I posted that question in the threads for 3 NY schools that don't have secondary essays. I tried finding information on this specific matter, but couldn't, so any help would be very much appreciated.

if they don't explicitly state that they don't accept them (like Albany) then go for it. report back if you have any success.:luck:

Where's my f--ing interview?! Arrrgh wanna go to this school so bad.

My first interview is at Einstein tomorrow! Super nervous, super excited!

Can u tell us more about ur application ? Gpa 3.8+ and mcat 34R. How about voluntary kobs and researches ?? Are you an undergrad or a master student ? You must have submitted very early maybe in july ?
Congratulation 🙂

Everyone is really nice there from the people in the office to the interviewers and the students 🙂 I had a really talkative interview group when I went, which made my entire day go so much smoother! Good luck! I interviewed early last month so I think they were still getting things situated (we all waited around in the lobby for ~30 minutes before our student tour guides came and took us for our tour/lunch), but hopefully it'll run much more smoothly for you! It's a great school!

Yep those were my stats. I'm an undergrad at a SUNY. In terms of research I did absolutely none (really hurts my app overall). I had some great medically related experiences though and I think a good personal statement. I am not a URM. I was complete late July I believe (on my phone can't check sorry) and I think I got my invite like aug 20ish. Hope that helps! Good luck to everyone! I'll let you know how it goes!

When is your interview!?
Not sure yet, I just got word about it today and I may have to reschedule my date for the December/January date :-( I have to call tomorrow. I have 5 interviews lined up during the last two weeks of October and first two weeks of November. All of which are several miles away from each other so it's been tricky to coordinate flights, hotels, transportation, etc., to fit my schedule. I guess that's what happens when you apply "late". I'm trying to get them all done before 2013 since most are rolling admissions. Congrats on your interview! When is your day?

Ill be there the 1st and 2nd of november for MSTP. Well, even if we don't meet, best of luck, and im pretty sure you won't have to "hope it works out."

Looks like we both do quite a bit of hoping LOL. With the MD PhD interviews it's hard to really say you're a shoe-in to any program just because there is a limited amount of seats. I'm still hoping it works out haha. Thank you for the kind words though, this process couldn't be more stressfull. I will let you know if I am able to attend the interview in November, depeding on flight schedules, etc. Good luck to you too!

Are you sure you were rejected because of this? I didnt have a letter from my major, wrote them an email explaining that, and they said it was fine.

I got one email saying we need an sLOR from outside your major, explain to the guy saying that I dont have one and apologize all that jazz. He says sorry but we cannot process your application then.

Sorry to hear that 🙁 was this before or after getting a "complete" email? Did you have a committee letter?

Wow sorry to hear that. They responded to my e-mail thanking me for the clarification and then completed me the next day. But I havent gotten an II (with a 3.9/36), so maybe that has something to do with it....

dont think I got a complete email and no committee since my school doesnt use it.

Ouch, I didn't have one either and had my interview already in September. Seems like they're running a double standard!

I'm sorry, that's a horrible reason to reject someone. Some schools are really strict about LOR requirements. Best of luck to you!

If you have a committee letter, you don't need specific letters from specific departments/subjects. It's only if you don't have a committee letter. I'm assuming you had a committee letter, which is why they didn't have a problem with yours. I could be wrong though

Do LORs from Biomedical Engineering professors count as science LORs????

Seeing as amcas designated my bmed as engineering classes and not bpcm classes I'm going to say no.

Nope, no committee letter from me. Very odd.

So I had my interview on Wednesday. It was my first one and I was pretty damn nervous. The admissions staff was really welcoming. I chatted with some of the other interviewees while waiting for my interview. My interview was at Jacobi (10 min walk from the office), and the other interviewees also had interviews in other places. My interview was pretty amazing. Completely conversational. Believe it or not it lasted over 2 hours. Afterwards we had lunch and a tour. For the morning interviewees this ended up being after the interview and before the interview for the afternoon interviewees. You could request to attend a class or do some other things but I had a bus to catch and wasn't able to. Overall it was a great day, and I'm hoping for the best. People say that you shouldn't stress too much when it comes to interviews. With Einstein this definitely was the case. So dont worry and good luck!

You had a 2 hour interview?!?! That must bode well for you!

Yeah I hope so, I think me and my interviewer really hit it off well. We talked about a lot of different things, and the nurses kept calling her out and so she even took me with her to see one of her patients.

Most of the students that I have spoken to all felt that Einstein had one of the most relax interviews! Most people don't REALLY understand until they get here...but Einsein is so CHILL! Everyone is laid back, fun, and amazing while they all get their work done!

Hey guys I'm coming into Newark airport on Tuesday around 3 for this Wednesday's interview day. On the off chance that a fellow applicant wants to split a cab pm me!

On the interview confirmation page it says we do not group applicants for presentations

What does the day consist of? Are we free to walk around campus but make sure we don't miss our interview or the lunch?

How many interviewers are there? With a faculty member or student?

A little anxious for this Friday

Don't be anxious! It's definitely a very very low stress interview. Basically you arrive on campus, check in and get your folder of Einstein materials. The people at the office show you how to get to your interview. Then you sit around the lobby with your fellow interviewees and talk until your interview (usually 30-60 minutes of time to kill). You only have 1 faculty interview, which everyone completed in around 30-45 minutes. Then you go back to the lobby and wait for the MS1 and 2s to take you on a campus tour/lunch. Thats basically the end of your day. It's a really mellow half day affair.

Hey guys this is kind of last minute but are any AE students willing to host me (male) for the 9th (this Tuesday night)? I tried emailing and calling the required people but it seems like the staff is on break until Wednesday.

Hey everyone, all my stuff was in by mid August and I have heard nothing back from Einstein yet (including a rejection). Anyone else in the same boat? I'm just getting anxious and worried from such a long wait!

+1 I''ve been complete since 7/23 🙁

Complete since 7/10... would be surprised to end up hearing from them ha

I did, yes. I'm a nontrad, married, and we have a dog. Still thought I needed non-student housing. The neighborhood does look like it's very livable; better than I had first imagined.
I'm in the same position. I am married non-trad and I have a dog. I checked their housing policy and it says no pets :-( I can't leave my dog behind ... I think finding housing will be a bit difficult if accepted into the MSTP program with the stipend being about 30 grand. I guess I'll cross that path when I actually get there. For now I just need to get in and I'll live in a tent outside of school if needed 🙂 LOL

In theory if your dog is a "service animal" it may be allowed to live in housing. You would need to look into that but I believe that might be a loophole. Would need to get your dog qualified and registered as one though

But otherwise, ye no animals allowed in housing at all

Even if it was a service animal like a seeing eye dog, I think you can keep it... only if you need the seeing eye dog (i.e. if you're blind).

I have an afternoon interview... will I be able to make an 8:00pm flight out of JFK? (that is the latest flight out unfortunately)

I guess I can register my dog as a Psychiatric Service Dog (it exists) and say that due to the extreme stress brought on by medical school applications/interviews I now suffer from intense panic attacks every time I hear AMCAS and that is why my dog needs to live with me. The end.

By the way I changed my schedule around and will be interviewing at AE Nov 2nd. See you there Hopeful 101.

Seems legit.

Perhaps if you take a cab (~40min)...if you go via MTA, the ride is about 2hrs.

WTH they just rescheduled my interview?! They need to change it from this Friday to next Monday. Is this common among other med schools? I already made travel arrangements and everything🙁
