Thank you! 😀

If you're going to take Bolt Bus, choose the option to get dropped off at the 34th st and 8th ave stop. Then you have to walk to Madison ave and 37th (which is a bit of a walk if you're holding lots of stuff, it would be a quick and cheap cab though), where you'll see a sign for the BxM10 bus. The ride up will take about 45min-1hr, and exit at the Morris Park Ave & Eastchester Road stop (where you'll see all the buildings with EINSTEIN and a double helix logo on them).

Here's the pdf of the schedule:

+1

I took the BxM10 bus and it wasn't bad at all: seats are nice but the express bus costs $5.50 not the usual $2.25.

I will definitely look into this as well. Thanks and happy new year!

Hey guys, I apologize for not keeping up with the forum. But how is Einstein with financial aid? My reason for asking, is that I got accepted to my state school and have an interview at Einstein in January. I'm wondering if it's worth going.

+1 wondering the same thing. It would cost 350$ to fly rto NY, plus taking a day outiea

COME! EINSTEIN IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE TRIP. This should not be the time to save money. You might end up having a great financial package from Einstein. You never know! Einstein is very generous.

I'm interviewing at Einstein in a couple weeks and will be traveling from Philadelphia. Does anybody have any suggestions on whats the best way to go about this?
My interview is in the afternoon and don't need to be on campus until 11:30. Right now, I am considering buying a megabus or bolt bus ticket to the city and then cabbing from there.

I would take the Megabus to Penn Station, from that, take the 2 train to 180th street and then take the Bx21 which drops you right off of Einstein. This is the cheapest way!

been complete since around late july/early august, and still no word.

does anyone think i should email a letter of interest? thanks for the help.

Hopefully ~10 more days until first acceptances go out! It'll have been a long four months of waiting haha 🙁

I really thought I'd love NY and have a friend at Einstein, but I have found my heart entrenched with a recent acceptance.

I wish one of you guys the spot in place of my withdrawal! 😍 :luck:

I posted on here earlier about traveling to Einstein and got some great advice to take the express bus. I still plan on doing this, but need to get to NYC from Philly first. I was planning on taking a Bolt Bus. I booked a 6:30 AM bus (from Philly) which is supposed to arrive near Penn Station at 8:30 and I would take the express bus from there. Someone who lives in the city told me that the Bolt Bus is notoriously late and might not arrive until closer to 10.
Does anyone know this to be true? I'm on a really tight budget so I'd prefer to avoid taking amtrak which is closer to 70-80$ each way.
And even if it did get in around 10, is it more than an hour and a half cab ride to Einstein?
Thanks in advance for help as I'm pretty clueless when it comes to public transit. Improving though!

For those that interviewed this year. Were there questions about Obamacare? Was the interview mainly focused on your achievements and experiences? Any thoughts would be helpful. I am excited to interview here this Friday!

no questions outside my application no ethical q's, nothing weird...i think my interview went well, although, the topics of discussion vary from interviewer to interviewer.

Interviews are mostly about application and if you don't bring up anything outside of that, neither will your interviewer.

But for those who don't know what the basics of "obamacare" you can read about it here: http://www.reddit.com/r/explainlike...i5_what_exactly_is_obamacare_and_what_did_it/

My interview at Einstein in October 2011 was one of the most conversational I've ever had: almost like we had just met up for drinks or something. Didn't end up getting in though haha. Perhaps I didn't seem serious since I felt so relaxed?

Uh oh I hope thats not a trend! My interviewer and I kept veering onto tangents about airplanes and even trips to DC/Asia. It was the most random interview 😕

It's so hard to predict how interviews actually go. I've had 16 individual interview over the last couple years, and my single "worst" interview (the one I left with the worst feeling) actually resulted in an acceptance to University of North Carolina. Keep your chin up kid! 🙂

You can't generalize an interview - every single interviewer has a different style.

Some of my interviews they asked nothing about my application, others were solely about it.

My Einstein interview was a mix of conversation (skiing, plus other randomness) and some was about application.

Just be relaxed, don't stress out. The interview is like a date and job interview rolled into one. Be calm, collected, and thoughtful.

My interviewer did ask me about the new health care laws, but just my opinions, he didn't quiz me or anything. And I wouldn't call it obamacare during the actual interview 😛

Just got my interview invitation was complete on november 26. I am extremely excited its my first interview invite.

Does anyone happen to know if there are designated "interview for waitlist" spots? I received an II over a month ago, but was scheduled for a March interview. I've been trying to push it up to February because I'm going to be in town then, but I keep getting told that March is the earliest they have.
Yet people are confirming interviews in January?
Anyone have any input with regard to this? Or maybe, anybody plan on dropping their interview spot in February and want to give it to me
you can PM me for that one 😉

I was looking over last year's thread and someone said that it doesn't seem like people that interview in the new year get accepted right off the bat. That was just one person's post though, and I didn't go back and check to see if it was legit or not. If you're feeling uneasy you can look at last years thread and see if it has any merit.

This school takes LOIs right? Do you just send it to the admission's email?

im not sure i got II two days ago..sent in email yesterday this morning they sent me the time and date

So my interview is this Friday and I have a quick question. Previously in this thread, people have said take the BxM10 on Madison ave and 37th. However, this address is not given on the official schedule of the bus, which was also posted earlier...so what should I do?

Pretty sure the bus schedule has a map that lists all the stops. Just plant yourself at the stop nearest you and it'll be there 🙂

Edit: Just checked for you and Madison and 37th is a pick up stop.

And just making sure. A regular metro card with 6.00 dollars should get me there right?

You probably want more that $6.00 on your metrocard. The bus/subway fare is $2.25 so unless you are going there and back without riding any public transportation you're going to need more

And just making sure. A regular metro card with 6.00 dollars should get me there right?

As per your earlier post, assuming you're taking the express bus (BxM10), $6 will be enough for just one way (the fare is $5.50), so you might want to put $11 if you want to take the bus both ways. If you're taking the subway/non-express bus, then you'll only need $4.50 for both ways.

And just making sure. A regular metro card with 6.00 dollars should get me there right?

I don't know how you're planning to get around the city, but when I was there I threw on 30 bucks on my metro card and had a mini-vacation exploring haha

Do you guys think acceptances will come out on the 15th?

Hey Guys,

An Einstein student here just wanting to wish all of you that are waiting for application decisions good luck :luck: ! I still remember how nerve wracking this time period was for me - please feel free to msg me any questions about the school. Hope to see some of you guys next year 😉

Had my interview. Think it went really well. Really chill like everyone says!!! Thanks for all the navigational help!!!

When should those who interviewed very recently (and into next week) expect the committee to make a decision? I know the 1st batch of acceptances come out on the 15th, but is it regular rolling admissions after that? Or is their a predetermined rate for the 2nd round of acceptances?

I heard around 2 months!

Have any rejections been sent yet? I've haven't heard anything since the beginning of August.
