Yeah, use SDN as a place to obtain some information but not as a website that knows all. People said with my mcat score I would not receive any ii but I have already obtained 3. So pursue your dreams and keep a positive attitude about this whole process.

PS. if you are stressing about getting into medical school than maybe you should reconsider your profession. Medical school and being a doc is a lot more stressful!

I was worried and I still am. I still plan to take a prep course just in case (Plan B). I think SDN makes everything seem dire and extreme. I'm praying for more interviews, so I have been returning secondaries within 1 week or less.

Overall, I have a strong application, except the MCAT score. Apparently, they saw something that they like. Come on Howard it's your turn to take a chance. LOL.

If medicine is your dream, I hope you get in whether it be at Howard or to the school of your choice!

Hope everyone's week went well. Seems like a great majority of the people on this thread are complete. The next big thing is the interviews. I hope and pray that we get those interview invites to Howard. 🙂
 
Got my application complete email a few minutes ago. Sent in the materials in the mail about 2 weeks ago
 
Congratulations! Details: Verified? Complete Date? Interview Date?
 
II as well! Got it by email. Sent in my secondary on the 9th, complete email on the 14th, interview offer today!
 
Looks like the interview invites have started, and hope that we are able to get it!

Hey guys. I sent in my application on Tuesday and just got the "complete" email today so pretty quick turn-around. Does anyone know how receptive Howard is to in-the-area emails? I'm going to be at GW in November so it would be great to have them close together. I just dont know if since they literally just got my email that it might look a little pushy lol.

I would wait a couple more weeks since you are not in the area till Nov. Give them a little time to settle down. I still haven't bought a plane ticket for an interview in two weeks because I am hoping to do another school with it (sent the in the area email just a couple of days ago). So yeah I think you have time...Nov seems so far away 😀
 
i wonder how they decide who gets the interviews. could really use one..
 
To all the people that got an interview, what were the earliest dates to pick and how many dates was there to choose from?

To those waiting for interviews, keep up the good attitude, hopes, and prayers! Hopefully we will get that invite soon from Howard Medical School!
 
ii, about a week after sending secondary. One day after complete.
 
Got the complete email few days ago as well but no interview invite or anything. When should I start freaking out?

interview invites are from now till April. would have been nice to get an interview early. 🙁

been following Howard's forum for a while....I've read every post on this forum....hopefully we all get those II's next week...Howard rocks!

Congratulations to all who received interviews! I'm taking the last of my prerequisites this semester and I received an email saying that I need to email my final grades to admissions and bring a sealed transcript to the interview if I am offered an interview, which implies that I probably won't be interviewed until December or later (if at all). So, if anyone knows whether students have been interviewed before finishing their prerequisites, I would love to know.
 
FYI just because you got an email that stated your secondary application was received doesn't indicate your application is complete. I got two separate emails. One stating my application was received and one stating my app was complete.

Yup I got the same thing the say after I asked on here. I got the complete email Friday.

Hoping for interviews this week! It seems like they only go out on Fridays.

Has anyone who's gotten the "application received" email on 9/14 also gotten an "application complete" email yet? I'm on the 9/14 boat and still am not complete.

Received on 9/14 and completed on 10/1
 
I guess I'm waiting on the complete e-mail since I just received the secondary one last week.

I also got the secondary received email on 9/14, and I didn't get the application complete email.

Same here, I'm waiting for that complete email as well.

I remember someone also mentioned that within their secondary acknowledgement, it also said that if AMCAS has received you letters of rec, than your file is complete.

Yeah...that was me, but someone said above they received a separate complete email.

Well, it is good to know that some got a complete email. I think though if you gave the secondary and also AMCAS got your letter of recs then pretty much you are complete.

One email I really hope and pray to see is that interview email, where get to pick the dates. Basically from now until April any one of us could get it. And may it come 🙂
