LOL.

Aw man, I'm so hoping to hear from them! Good to know that it's not over yet. Congrats to you! How did you hear?

Got it via e-mail. Complete in early September. The earliest date was next week. There were still like 10 interview dates available over February and March. Good luck! I may not take the date since I've been accepted to another (personally preferable) school. About 50% of interviewees are eventually accepted, though!

Do you guys think this is going to be the last wave of II's?

Is tufts a school that is receptive to pre-interview letters of interest? thanks

I have my interview next week 1/31. Any one who's been accepted or current students have any tips? I'm OOS non-traditional.

Do they match students (trad/non-trad) or is it mixed?

I'm an M16 @ Tufts, and it does feel like there is a substantial portion of non-traditional students. I'm non-traditional, and it's very nice. The average age is closer to 25, and those few years make a biiiig difference.

Also, for people who are panicking, I didn't even interview until 2/10/12. I submitted by stuff pretty late though (secondaries weren't complete until Nov.)

True, but you are an N=1 case 🙂

I will always panic until I have an acceptance in hand...

Everybody during my interview day had 2 faculty interviews (30 minute each). They'll have your application in front of them on a laptop while they interview you. It was relaxed, although some people had an interviewer that gave ethical questions/scenarios.

Just received an II. Complete 10/28. Guess I'll be making another trip to the east coast!

how many dates are available?

Just booked my date and there are a couple of slots open in March. They only have Tues and Thurs interviews so all Tues and Thurs in March seem available with the exception of the 1st Tues.

how many dates are available?

the only one in february was valentine's day, which was the one i chose. i didn't look closely and can't access the calendar anymore, but it looked like there probably 5 or 6 throughout march, then i didn't look past march.

II today, complete early September. Going to withdraw so hopefully one of you guys get it. Good luck!

If I were choosing between Tufts, BU SoM, and Harvard (doubtful I'll get into Harvard though), why should I choose Tufts? My gut is telling me Tufts but I can't justify it.

Thanks so much! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Accepted for MD/MBA. Interested in Ortho and heard that Tufts matched 15/15 last year, which is crazy. I've also heard that there is a pretty decent chance to match into Harvard residencies. Does anybody have the match list for 2012?

I'm having a hard time picking this school vs. my Texas schools which would cost 200k less for the combined program.

As a nonbiased pre-med looking to get accepted at tufts, I suggest sticking with Texas😀

For that much money, I would stay where the stars are big, and bright at night...

yeah...but sometimes "you get what you pay for"

Well Tufts is one of the most expensive/most indebtedness medical schools so maybe that is one of the reasons that many feel that they may be forced to do a high paying specialty. Schools like georgetown and drexel had 14 and 15 orthopedic matches last year and temple had 9. These school also lead in debt.

:wow::smack: uuuuuuhh....I would save 200k

yeah....

Someone once told me that all things considered a guy who went to a less prestigious med school with better board scores and grades will always get into a better residency than someone from a more prestigious school.

I also read somewhere that med school prestige is very much a "pre-med" thing. They also went on to say that in the end, as long as its a US school, most people won't care where you came from but your banks want their money back.

+1 Accepted for MD/MBA as well.

This is not what I expected, after one poster posted how "Tufts match extensively to Harvard (12% of the class)". Still a very good match list, but it's just not "extraordinary" by any means. What was this guy talking about? Somebody please tell me what's going on. Here is the link btw.

You have to realize that matching to Harvard doesn't mean it'll say "Harvard University Hospital" (not sure such a thing even exists?) Harvard has a number of affiliates, so count all the ones who go to Mass Gen, Brigham & Women's, Harvard Longwood, Beth Israel Deconess, etc.
Just quickly glancing over the 2012 match list, I count at least 23, which I'm guessing really is about 12% of the class, so that dude was absolutely correct

Any idea when the next round of acceptance phone calls are going to go out?

When I interviewed they made it sound like we'd hear End of Jan/Early Feb. Becuase of that, I've been holding off on sending an update letter (figure I'll save it for if I get WLed, so they have something nice and new to look at when they reconsider me). But if we're not going to here for another month+ I'm just going to send it now.
