Hmmm... should I be worried if I was verified on 7/10 and still haven't received a secondary invite? 🙁
 
I dont think so. It took about a week to deliver mine. But the thread last year said it took some people a month
 
How long did it take for your LORs to be marked received? It's already been a week for me and they still aren't...
 
For listing the "School Activities" did you guys list work during the school year?

Also, what does it mean to be socially or educationally disadvantaged? Neither of my parents went to high school, so does that make me educationally disadvantaged? And if I'm a first-generation immigrant, does that make me socially disadvantaged? I'm confused about these terms. 😕

For those of you guys who got secondaries, was there a Letters of Recommendation page in the secondary app? The instructions say there is a a letter of rec section, and apparently this is the only section on the secondary app that you can view after you submitting. I didn't see this section anywhere, so I just submitted.

The only thing I did for letters was just assign it through AMCAS. Is there anything else, I need to do? ... like list the name of the letter authors somewhere?

If I was verified before June 29th, and UCI sent me a "receipt of application" email on July 11th, am I still in the running for a secondary?

There seems to be no LOR button anywhere. However, I submitted my secondary and the next day I checked my status and had updated my LOR status to received. I had sent my letters through AMCAS on 7/19 and they updated my LOR status the day after they received my secondary, so it should be automatic.

I just checked 2011-2012 thread. It seemed quite a few people had to wait a bit before their letters were received too. It's been a week for me too. I think we should just wait and be patient.
 
Can everyone see the "Instructions Interview" button on the check status page? I don't remember seeing it there before!

Note: I'm still under review and when I click schedule interview it says I can't. Just wanted to see if the buttons were there for everyone else too.

it's on there for me too? Hopefully it means something good! It also says "Congratulations on being selected to interview at UCI School of Medicine!..." when I click on "Interview Instructions" ..hmm..

I have that too but unfortunately I think they're just teasing us, at least in my case, cuz I only became complete today so I don't think they've even reviewed my app yet.
 
Should I be worried if I haven't received an interview yet? It says I'm still under review. No hold or anything. Do they do silent rejections?

gpa bcpm 3.59 total: 3.56 (low, but there is a upward trend)
mcats: 36 (p: 13 b: 12 v: 11 w: r)
ec: church-related mentoring, home building in mexico, 400+hospital volunteering (hands-on patient care), honestly nothing to spectacular

i dont know how i got an interview, but praise God.....

anyone else?
 
For all those who found out about their interview invite by checking your status online, did you eventually get an email to that effect? If so, how long was the delay? Thanks.

Really? That's so weird and it stinks... I don't wanna have to go check constantly.
 
are any of you getting interviews doing mstp? Just wondering if theyve sent out mstp apps yet?
 
They don't always send out interview invite emails (I never got one back when I applied), so definitely be sure to check online regularly!

Is that common for most schools or is it just UCI?

Just fyi I think it took around 5-7 business days for them to add my LORs.
 
Regarding the disadvantaged section: Does anyone know how important it is to list the addresses of our parents and siblings? All of my siblings are over the age of 25 and I either can't get a hold of some of them or they are reluctant to give me their address.

With everything else is filled out, do you guys know if this bit of info is crucial?

4.0/ 3.95 and 35R...with decent EC's too. AND I live 10minutes away from the school 🙁

and yes, it said "interview not granted"

edit: i just got the rejection via e-mail. good luck to everyone else still in the running!

WTHeck, that is just absurd. The process is so random so don't take it personal. You may even be too high of stats for UCI. I was complete 7/18, so I should be getting a status update soon.
 
Thank you, Lord. I just logged onto the website and noticed that I received an interview invite! This is my first invite and my first time applying so I need some help. I was wondering if there is a discussion on this site or elsewhere that might help me prepare for the interview. Sept. 17th is coming quickly! Thanks in advanced.
