Hello everyone! does anyone know where most of the med students live and how much we should be expecting to pay?
 
I just went to get my status update and it sent me to a interview scheduling screen, but does not show any available dates. I have not received an II email so before I get too excited does anyone know what this means?

they probably dont have any spots currently open..i assume youll be getting your II email soon though. maybe try calling? congrats!!!!!!!!

Congrats! You will get an interview soon=]

Mind telling us the change in status and it's time slot? For example, applicant in process (4 weeks) --> applicant is in process. Etc

Thanks for all replying so quickly, it has settled my shaking hands some! I was complete on the deadline (cutting it close) and to be honest I never noticed the small changes in phrasing but just today my status was "Applicant in Process". I hope this helps and good luck to all of you! ... I just got my II email!

congrats on the II! so the same situation happened to me and I did not see any available dates so I called and they had a slew of options with varying locations

Did you just call? The only place available for me was Peoria.

Really? I think it may be because the Chicago spots are filling up... They commented on that during the interview (in Dec).

The Chicago track spots do fill up first, but they do give out UPR track spots to people who picked Chicago for first choice even before Chicago track is filled. I have heard of people getting Chicago spots off of the wait list.
 
For those of you that have been to many interviews, how was yours with the UIC? Was it different, or was it pretty standard?

It's very similar. Only difference was at Chicago, I interviewed with three people (two faculty, one student) which was more than any other school. Otherwise all my interviews were very relaxed, easygoing.

I was wondering the same thing...I have heard a few different things, someone said they do not seem to be following the third Thursday of every month thing however someone else said they were....I'm really hoping the meeting this month includes the 18th interviewees!
 
Just got an interview invite via snail mail. I was not expecting this at all especially since I didn't receive any email. Is this normal?

It looks like there is only 1 interview date available as of now, but I happen to have another interview scheduled on that day. Does anyone know if the available interview dates change frequently?

they do, i know plenty of people who interviewed in march who are in my class

+1. I sent one via email but didn't get any sort of confirmation or reply that they added it to my file. Someone should call in and ask.

I called last month to ask about updates. I was told that you can send one in if you like, but it wont be added to your file unless you get an interview. So i guess loi's and updates aren't used in the interview invite selection. UGH

Don't worry about status changes at this point.

Word on the street: NO adcom meeting this week (sorry to disappoint, but at least you know not to check the status page).

Adcom will meet sometime in the next two weeks. Wish I could be more precise.

Hi all---interviewed today. the assistant dean said that the admissions com is meeting at the end of the month so don't panic yet...good luck to everyone!
 
Hey guys, does anyone know if the school assigns your campus the same day they receive the deposit? Or how long does it usually take? Still waiting on my assignment here

I think mine took about 2-3 weeks

They usually assign it right away when receiving the deposit, but it can take a couple days to receive the actual assignment in the mail depending on where you live. I had my assignment back about 6-7 days after I mailed out the preference form/deposit.

Thanks for the replies. They received my deposit about a week and a half ago. Hopefully I get something in the mail soon.
 
Well at least no news is better than bad news

Though I haven't commented much, SDN and the UIC status check page have probably the two most visited sites from my network for the last couple of weeks...still not out of Applicant in process!
