I was the oldest one at mine too...at the ripe old age of 28. (I'll be 29 next week)
Sorry I have you beat by 2 3/4 years. When it comes down to it though, I think that is an asset.

11 days...
Is time moving extra slow for anyone else??
Well we are down to four more days, so I am just lookig forward to getting an answer either way. If it is a rejection, then I will at least know to invest the additional money in further applications and interviews.
I am so nervous. I can't believe we only have 4 more days. Really trying to stay positive but not build up too much expectation. I would LOVE to see an acceptance in my e-mail Friday! It's so incredible that it's this close.
for the secondary, what did you guys pick for the interview campus and 1st,2nd, 3rd choice to attend?
2 more days
Indeed. Its worse than Christmas!
No joke...every time I think of Christmas, I don't feel like throwing up a little.
1 DAY !!!
Just a few more hours...
I'm in!!!!!!!! hoping for good news around!!
I guess it is 3 for 3! Congrats to the both of you! I got mine too. I had a lot of people to call before I posted here. Looking forward to the official letter!
I'm in also!!
Mine's the 17th.when's your interview? mine's oct 18th =)
Mine's the 17th.
Mine's the 17th as well! Where'd you go for undergrad?
Hey guys, I am debating whether to apply to the University of Kansas or not... I'm OOS but was born in Kansas city, my dad also did his Ophthalmology residency at UKMC - will this have any bearing on getting an interview or are they strictly looking for medical school ties?
I'm doing an SMP at Georgetown which has 6 med school classes, so if i presumably end up with stellar grades will I have a shot? 29P / 3.35ug
THanks in advance! good luck to everyone else.
Given your stats, you'd probably have an easier time applying elsewhere. The secondary application for KU is LONG. Also, I went to a meeting where the dean of admissions was talking about how hard it is for OOS applicants to be accepted - she literally said something along the lines of: "people we accept usually have good stats AND have had some sort of major, life changing experience".
That said, if you have Kansas ties and good ECs, I think it'd be worth a shot! Hope that helps 🙂
ahh ouch... Will having a relative (father) who is a physician that went to KU for his residency count as a "good kansas tie?" Thanks for the responses
Didn't you say you were born in KS too? How long did you live here? You can talk about how much you want to come back to this area...i mean you can try. KU took about 8% out of state this year i believeahh ouch... Will having a relative (father) who is a physician that went to KU for his residency count as a "good kansas tie?" Thanks for the responses

Also, I am currently a second year here at KU so if you guys have any questions about anything feel free to send them my way. I am a student ambassador and help out with lunch and tours for the interviews so I may have met some of you EDP applicants and will probably see a few of you for your upcoming interviews so I am more than happy to answer just about anything. Good luck to everyone and I will try to check back every week or two.
I suppose this is a question I could ask during the interview, but I was wondering if you could tell us a little about the new Cancer Center. Has it impacted your education as a medical student? Has it provided students with more exposure to things like research or clinical experience? If so, how?
If not, what other programs/facilities contribute to the education and medical experience of the medical students here?
Sorry if that was a loaded question 😛
Did your dad do his residency at KUMC (Kansas university) or at UMKC (university of missouri) because those are two very different things. Couldn't tell from the original post as the letters could be either of the two.

I've been complete for about 6 weeks now. How long does it usually take for interview invites?
Mleefuturemd and nightowl09, congratulations to you both. Do you mind sharing your stats? Are you both IS?
Thanks!
