Congrats! I remember you from the interview day. Are you going to the second look in LHV?

Just curious if anyone has heard back that interviewed on February 19?

haha JackNicholson I don't think they've given out ANY core acceptances/decisions for quite some time. I'm still here waiting from my March 5th interview. I'm assuming a big batch of decisions will go out fairly soon...still hopeful!

any new acceptances? also anyone from April 8th select hear back yet?

From what I can gather, SELECT interviewees are still hearing back within 2-3 week time frame. Core is on a hiatus since mid-late Feb. I think we (core) might hear back near the deadline of May 15th. This is all speculation though, I have no idea what is actually going on in the adcoms minds...if only.

I got an email saying, "We are working to provide decisions soon," when I contacted them.

Interviewed core back in feb, acceptance call about a week and a half ago.

When did you interview in Feb? I don't think they would retract an admission lol

hey is anybody interviewing for SELECT this monday, Im flying in tomorrow to Allentown and staying at the Wingate by Wyndham
Let me know if anybody wants to grab drinks 🙂

Got a wait list email today. Interviewed 2/26

Waitlisted today--4/26 interview, will be headed elsewhere so I withdrew my application.
Good luck to all of you playing the waiting game (was tortured with the waitlist ordeal last cycle). Keep your heads high, all will be well 🙂 👍

was it via snail mail or email?

So has anyone from the 02/19 interview date been accepted??

Anyone in Allentown for the revisit day today?? 🙂

Has there been any more SELECT acceptances? Hoping to get the phone call soon.

Just made the very difficult decision to withdraw my acceptance for the SELECT program. USF will forever hold a special place in my heart since it is the first school to accept me. Hopefully, the spot will go to one of you.

Hey all,

I haven't posted here yet but I interviewed back in February for the SELECT program and was accepted shortly after. I thought I'd swing by and say hello.

I'm coming in from OOS, for those that are curious.

Where did you decide to go? And hopefully one of us gets it.

Congrats! Which state are you coming from? Tampa's a nice place, especially the beach and the weather 😀

Waitlisted via snail mail. Interviewed 4/8 for SELECT. And the waiting continues

Coming in from the Pacific NW! Wooo! I used to live in FL for many years so I know about the beaches and weather 😉

It's surprising how quiet the USF thread compared to some of the other threads I've been following. But one thing is for certain, I'm getting those pre-matriculation butterflies about now!

I'd like to know more about Tampa though. I don't know much about the city itself, and I'd like to get myself excited about the city and the type of people I will be surrounding myself with.

Don't know that much either. My parents have lived there for over 10 years now. My dad was born and grew up there and made his way down there as his parents were getting older. I grew up in Virginia.

I don't know why it's quieter in here in than other places, but I'm excited about starting. Up here in Allentown, right now. I'm going to tour the hospital tomorrow. 😀

Oh! Could you post on here your thoughts on the tour at Lehigh Valley? I never got to see it, and I really want to know more about it 😀

I toured LeHigh Valley during the 2nd look and it's AMAZING. Being from CA, the idea of moving to PA after the admirable FL didn't make me very happy but LeHigh Valley makes it worth it. The system of all their hospitals is absolutely crazy fascinating, and the community is just a nice as it is back as USF. They strangely maintain a really close relationship it seems. Of course, there's no way to know how all of it works out for the students yet, unfortunately.

Allentown as a city is mehhh but Bethlehem ~15mn ish away is BEAUTIFUL and worth the move 🙂

I'm actually excited about PA. Paint me insane, but I have a special place in my heart for the cold and rainy 😛

PS-- bulbasaur > squirtle 😉

Second the hospital being amazing. The technology is first rate and they really do have a culture of caring for the patients. I definitely felt appreciated there, we even got to sit down with the CEO of the LVHN for about 15 min. Cool guy, very down to earth. The hospital community was very friendly and welcoming to us.

I didn't get to check out Bethelem, but I didn't mind Allentown too much.

I saw one student getting instruction from a resident during our tour (he actually gave me my tour of the USF campus, lol) and he seemed happy and said everything had gone smoothly with the move.

I will not mind going up to PA too much either. My sister lives in DC and there's skiing nearby in PA. 😀

same, interviewed 04/29 Allentown, waitlisted this morning.

yeaa that was me lol, I remember you as well. Hopefull we hear back soon!

Just got wait listed yesterday, and accepted today off the wait list, SELECT MD Program with a phone call from Mr. Perez. What a great f*&%ing day. beyond ecstatic!

Awesome!

Congrats to all those accepted and those of you still waiting dont give up hope yet, it's still early. One of our classmates was accepted into the program Day 3 of orientation!!

Class of 15' just finished our first week in the Lehigh Valley and all I can say is the network is every bit as wonderful as we were expecting, even more so if that's possible.

That's great to hear! I'm hoping to get off the waitlist and be part of the 2017 class! :luck::luck::luck:

Anyone know % OOS and % IS for the CORE class, and for the SELECT class? Just curious 🙂

is the tuition for this program $55,000 a year, with no possibility for in state tuition after one year?
How are some of you accepted SELECT applicants justifying this?

It's pricey but for myself (and many of my classmates), the other schools we were considering, even those "in-state" cost just as much, if not more. Some states just don't care about their residents (PA)

Either way, I say use cost as a factor but don't let it be the first on your list.

are there many students from the Midwest in your class? Because Im from Chicago, and would most likely love to return back here for residency. It appears that most of my classmates would be from the East Coast and Florida. This is a difficult position, trying a new school/area, or stay closer to home/with lower tuition? 😕
