I got the survey in the mail - Nashville - but how do we know if we are accepted, rejected or wait listed???
If you had a final decision made, it would've come with your survey. It appears they haven't made a final decision on you yet. Hang in there.

I know they said final decisions have already been made... Maybe another letter will come tomorrow? Would there be any clues on this survey to give me an idea on my status? I'm one of the last batch of interviews...

My survey letter came 4-5 days before the acceptance letter. They'll make their way to you - just hold on.

Oh, that's right, I forgot how late it is. No, the survey won't tell you anything. You have to wait for an official letter. 🙁

As for everyone else waiting, I received my official scholarship letter today. But that's probably because they know I'm trying to choose between two schools and needed it in hand to accept. I haven't even received the official financial aid package yet. I think we're getting that via email.

Anyway, hang in there peeps. You all should hear very soon. (I know, I know, far easier said than done.) So, to break the monotony and suspense, here's a funny bunny:

After seeing that bunny, all my anxiety and frustration went away. Thanks.

Just received my letter saying I'm an alternate to anyone who is waiting on theirs.

I'm still waiting on mine. Did the letter tell you your position on the WL?

....to be more specific, 225 are on the waitlist and the average they take each year is top 63

EDIT: Nevermind, previous posts answered my question.

Thanks for letting us know about the waitlist stats! I appreciate it.

Still no letter.

This is getting ridiculous.

Got my letter. Time to play more of the waiting game haha

I saw this in last year's thread and thought it would be helpful to track waitlist movement.

***EDIT***

List updated: Please see posts below

If you find out what your waitlist position is and want to be added to this list, post in the topic and I'll add you to the corresponding category. I'm going to call later today to find out my position on the list.

Thanks!

i just withdrew my acceptance this morning, so hopefully it goes to one of you!

I called admissions today and was told that UTHSC doesn't give out relative waitlist position information like top 1/3, top 1/2, etc. to alternates. I've read here that they will, though. Who do I need to call or email?

Diane Harris is your best friend and tends to act as your "little birdie" advocate. I'd speak to her directly unless she was the one you spoke to earlier.

P.S. Props on the username!

The waitlist is shorter than past years (225 vs. 240+). Wonder if this is good news or what.

so i've heard from a friend who was waitlisted in the past that they rank their list solely by mcat/gpa numbers. can anyone corroborate this theory?

also, any out of staters on the waitlist? does it work the same if you are out of state, since they may only accept a maximum of 16?

I am wondering if they prefer to max out their out of state offers, or not necessarily.

Hey, I was on the wait list here last year, and I can tell you they definitely don't do it by GPA/MCAT. Also, there are separate wait lists for the in-staters and out-of-staters. For those of you on the waitlist I would definitely try calling because they normally will give you an idea of where you are at on the waitlist. Good luck you all...I know what you're going through! 🙂

Accepted Off Waitlist

Top 30

Top 60

Upper Third

Middle Third

Bottom Third/Bottom Half

Thanks!

I was told top 25

I was told "top 65." Does anybody know the actual number of how many they have accepted off the waitlist in the past few years? I feel like #65 would be cutting it close. So, if you have multiple acceptances, PLEASE pick the other school so I can get in here!!!!! haha

good luck everyone!

Dean Strother also said they were almost 20 people into the list!

the nice list ya'll are making is for in-staters I guess... anyone else out of state and want to have a couple of data points of our own? ha

I was told I am "in the top 10 of the non-resident list". But who knows what this means or how many there are on the list.... especially considering only 17 are allowed to matriculate by law and my chances depend solely on one of those accepted OOS students choosing another place.

Sure, I'll edit the list to include OOS.

Guero, are you a Tennessee applicant or California applicant?
Although born and raised in Cali, I'm a TN resident and thus a TN applicant.

Also, for those waiting for the financial aid package, I just received mine via my UTHSC email. It just says that an award was updated and directs you to sign into your bannerweb.

Is there a Facebook group up yet? My friend, who just got accepted, is trying to find it. Thank you!

On average, how many out of state students do they accept off the waitlist?

Accepted off of the waitlist, received a call from Mr. Strother yesterday during graduation 🙂
Born and raised in Cali, TN Resident as of sophomore year of high school. I was told I was in the top 30 a week ago. Let me know if I can give any more helpful info!
Interview: 4/1/13, I honestly thought I had a very small chance because my interview was so late in the year!!

So, I am withdrawing my acceptance today because I got accepted at ETSU. I hope one of you all get it!

Hi all, sorry if this question's been asked already, but are there any other days when the waitlist typically moves (besides May 15th ofc)? I remember someone saying that the waitlist moves again in June, but I wasn't sure why.

On average, how many out of state students do they accept off the waitlist?

I'm using studentdoctor waitlist movement data from the last 2 application cycles (small sample size lol), so don't put a lot of faith in these numbers. Admissions reached the top third of the in-state waitlist twice. Meaning, they reached positions below the top 60 of the in-state waitlist.

If the average is 63 students accepted off the waitlist each year, you're looking at single digit acceptances from OOS waitlist (conservatively 1-3). Then again, this number also depends on how many OOS students withdraw their acceptances, and I don't have any data on this.

Hope this helps.
