2013-2014 University of Central Florida Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I am so thankful that my son got accepted to UCF this week, OOS upper 1/3. This school is awesome! I admire REL for the superb job he is doing. It seems as though I know you all by reading this thread everyday- MrsHopeful,Ionclaws, icecreamboogers,Sb247, Dapi to name a few! Best of luck to all of you as you achieve your dream through UCF. I can tell ,you are all going to be physician leaders. For those of you on the waitlist-never give up.

Out of state, upper 1/3 finally made the cut! Ready to be a knight!

Are OOSers getting some sort of huge scholarship for coming? The OOS people seem to be moving more slowly than last year...

Dont think any one person can answer this so I'll give it a stab. The answer is that it is playing out with regard to monies just like I postulated during interviews. The mark up for non-residents to a public program is about $28k per year more than a resident. We have pretty much stayed on target at the average that I mentioned during interview day as far as scholarship support being able to roughly half the extra charge. Yes it is more that in-state, but in-state doesnt pay that extra ~$28k per year.

Amazingly several of the non-residents have turned down programs in their own state and in other cases in states adjacent to their home area. They seem to understand what is happening here and simply want to be a part of it.

Hello everyone! Is there anyone out there still looking for place to live? If you do, feel free to shoot me a message. I hope to share a 3bedroom house with 2 more students. Message me for more details 🙂

Deferred my matriculation here until next Fall! Good luck to everyone starting in a couple weeks!! 🙂

Well, the M1s and M2s are now done with their respective orientations and will begin classes Monday. I think this thread can be closed now.
