That's unfortunate, I was really hoping this week. Oh well, guess their 2 week timeline is til next Friday.

Does this school silently reject? I have been complete since august 1st...
 
I was complete around 8/20 and got my II a few days ago after being "applicant in process" for a while. The earliest dates were the first week of December. Hang in there guys!

Are you IS or OOS? Also did it change from "applicant in progress" to "applicant in process"?

I'm OOS. I only started checking my status about a week before my II, and it was already "applicant in process." Sorry, wish I had more info =/
 
So "progress" means they haven't reviewed you yet but "process" means they reviewed you and maybe decided to send you a II? This is all so confusing

Yeah, I've read through that but it doesn't acknowledge the "progress" status, it only states "process." At this point my guess is as good as anyone else's, damn you UIC!

Hey guys! Does anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the interview? I will be interviewing at UIC on 11/6!!! 🙂

My advice would be to practice the most-asked questions that are almost 100% likely to come up. Questions such as "Why medicine?", "Why UIC?", and be able to talk about your personal statement and secondary essays. Other than that, anything goes and it's impossible to predict so just take it easy 🙂 I'm not sure about everyone else's experiences, but for myself, my interviews were all very relaxed and they all tried to make me comfortable. They're definitely not out to get you or trip you up - they just want to understand you as a person and see your paper application come to life. Hope that helps!

this. my intereviews were closed note so maybe think about strong points of your application they don't know that you would like ot try to bring into the conversation. one way i did this was talking about research/projects i was involved in and using it to explain hte kind of physician i wanted to be.

also look at the interview questions part of this site for UIC
 
Acceptance in the mail today 😀. Does anyone know how long we have to accept? Like do we get to see what site we'd be assigned to before we make a final decision? As far as what I can tell from the packet there isn't a specific date listed, unless I just missed something...

Congrats on your acceptance! 🙂 I don't have an answer to your question, but I was wondering...Did you have a date written next to your "additional correspondence" tab before receiving your letter?

Congrats, I assume you had the additional correspondence tab right?

Now I'm eagerly awaiting the mailman.
 
And according to the MSAR, you have 2 weeks to respond , but the deposit is refundable

Thanks! Yes I had the tab. There was just a small blank box next to it. No date.

For those that live OOS and received II.....
Did you wait for interview dates in Chicago to open up or did you schedule your interview at the other sites such as Rockford, Urbana, etc?
I want to schedule my own interview ASAP but they only have dates available in Rockford and Urbana.
Trying to figure out cheapest and fastest way to get into these other sites for interviews.....
 
I live in the Chicago suburbs, had the additional correspondence tab, but nothing came for me in the mail today. Hoping it comes tomorrow...I hate all of this waiting, I'm not the most patient person lol

anyone know what the process is for campus assignments? i.e. do we have any say in what campus and if so, when do we get this say? The campus i end up at is a major decision i'd factor in whether I'd want to attend UIC or not
 
For those who got their letters, was it sent to your "current address" (on AMCAS) or was it sent to your "permanent address" (parents' address)?

I think you get to rank your choices but it's mostly first come first serve.

My letter went to my permanent address.

A couple weeks after getting an acceptance packet you get to rank your preferences. A couple weeks after that you get a confirmation.

For the campus rankings, is that done online or over snail mail again?
 
Snail mail. You might want to become friends with your postal worker.

Completely agree with this. All three had thoroughly read my personal statement and secondary essays but weren't aware of the rest of my application. It was a great opportunity to integrate my other experiences/strengths into responses to their questions. The why UIC question came up in all three of interviews sessions. If you're OOS, take some time to looking to area and why you would want to move to Chicago/IL.
 
i interviewed early october sometime (first week) and got the acceptance letter today. mine was sent to my 'current' address and not 'permanent' though
 
Wait, so one person says the mail goes to your permanent address and one says it goes to your current address. Anyone else want to weigh in on this? I don't know if I should have my parents keep tabs on things or if I should monitor my mail instead.
 
Completely blanked on a very basic question today about universal healthcate and said "I don't know", how negatively will this affect my application :/

Mine was sent to my permanent address. Had to have my parents read it to me over the phone haha

Good to know! I just called the admissions office and they said the same. Well, looks like I'll have my parents check the mail 3x a day, haha.

It's hard to say - how did the rest of your interview go? Did you and your interviewer connect and did he/she seem to like you? Did you just blank on one question or was it several questions? If it was just that one thing and your interviewer seemed to like you otherwise, I wouldn't sweat it too much.
 
So.....I submitted the secondary around late August/early September but I still haven't heard a word. What does this mean??!!
