does Mr. Perez still work there? i didn't see his name anywhere

It was by email and then you have to call them to schedule a date! They offered me oct 15th, but I went with the 22nd 🙂 So excited!

Congratulations! Do you mind sharing what date your secondary application was submitted?

Johnny Perez no longer works for USF. I believe it is now Dr Robert Brooks...don't hold me to that though 😉 Good luck!

II today!! Complete 8/1 but didn't get my new MCAT score until 8/13. IS and previous USF IMS masters student 😍

Congrats on all IIs! Could someone who interview on the 1st share how the day went? 🙂

Anyone have interview insights?

USF's interview day is so laid-back. I had a lot of fun and learned so much about the school, students, and curriculum that I didn't know beforehand. While we were waiting to be interviewed medical students would come by and give us advice and encouragement, something I found so helpful. I really liked how the school provided us with information on our interviewers, which gave me the opportunity to ask questions based on their interests and keep the conversation going. You'll have two interviews that are open file and conducted by faculty. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy your interview day, I had a great time 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing this. It's awesome to read such positive comments about the school.

Oh, and congrats on your acceptance! 🙂

Glad to hear the interviewees enjoyed it. I actually get kinda excited to see y'all touring around.

Just finished our last test to for course 1, so we're all pretty giddy right. 10 days of no classes, the break will be nice!

when are/were the first non-EDP, core interview dates?

October 1st was the first day they interviewed for the regular admission; at least for CORE, not sure if the days for SELECT are different.

Anyone else submit their secondary in July and not heard anything? 32/3.7 should we call?

Haven't heard anything either and submitted in July right when I received it. This is my hometown so really would love an II!!!

How long did it take people to get a response after submitting a secondary? I submitted my secondary in early October.

Same here! Well..According to some of my SDN research, a lot of people got Interviews about 20-25 days after they submitted their Secondary. So, I'm hoping I'll hear some positive news sometime next week. And then there are people who haven't heard anything for months. So basically, I just don't know! 😕

Trying to guess when you might hear back is only going to drive you crazy. This whole process is such a crap shoot; there will be people who hear back in a few weeks and people who will hear back in a few months. It's just the name of the game. Sit tight, everybody!

Yeah... but it's all you can do sometimes. I worry that small things might derail my application. It's my first time applying, so there's a fair bit of tension, you know?

I feel like if I got a couple of my applications to budge, I'd at least have some kind of signal that some of the less desirable parts of my application aren't so bad. I won't really know if I'm competitive until I either get some interviews or get the emails telling me I didn't make that cut.

^ I'm also in this waiting game myself! Complete in late August.

II today! Can't interview til December even though late October is still available. Hope that doesn't put me at a big disadvantage

Of course! Totally understand where you are coming from--who wouldn't want to hear back sooner than later? If there's one thing I know, it's that this process can be a very looooooong one. I'm a re-applicant this year; trust me, it doesn't get any less stressful lol. However, at this point, you've already submitted your application, so now all you can do is be confident about it! Try not to stress or worry so much. GL!

SELECT interview dates are Mondays and Fridays. You'll have people interviewing at either USF or Lehigh Valley on the same days.

Good luck all!

Was anyone else at the interview day last week (Oct. 15)?

received an interview invite today! OOS, was complete 8/6. stoked!

Anyone know how accurate the US News Numbers are? It says for OOS, 74/110 interviewed are accepted, and for in state it's 260/299. It seems to good to be true.

ACCEPTED!!!! Interviewed 10/15 and got the call this afternoon 😀 😀

I'm wondering if I should be worried that I didn't get a call yesterday...
At the interview, they said call = acceptance and letter = waitlist or rejection. I hope I don't find a letter in the mail.
I interviewed on the 15th.

Same here. Haven't heard anything yet. They probably don't make all the decisions at the same time, depending on how soon the interviewers get our info to the committee.

I think you're right. I remember Ms. Kinsella saying that it depends on how quickly the interviewers send in their reviews

Did they give you guys a general timeline of how long it takes to get a decision? I interviewed this week and don't remember them mentioning it!

They said 1-2 weeks. Two people above were called in 8 days.

1-2 weeks is an amazing turn around. +100 points to the school for (hopefully) not making the applicants wait for too long to get a response. Good luck to y'all! 🙂

That makes sense. I was expecting a 2 week wait because Ms. Kinsella was saying to expect a decision in 2 weeks, not 1 week. But when I saw the posted acceptance, I assumed all decisions were out.

Spica, looking at last year's thread, USF does not always give decisions within 2 weeks. Some people waited up to 4 weeks later in the cycle, as there are more people to give decisions on.
