Has anyone that has not received an interview invite received a rejection?
I haven't.Has anyone that has not received an interview invite received a rejection?
Still surprised to not see more waitlists on SDN...isn't mercers waitlist supposed to be around 100?! surely more than 5 on SDN were qualified.
I received this email this past week and did not even email them. Kind of confused as to what this really means. After sending them an email, I got this as a reply:
We would like to inform you that your application to the MD program at Mercer University remains under consideration. Due to the unpredictable nature of the admissions process, at this time we are unable to provide information in regard to the likelihood of acceptance. Thank you for your patience.
To help prospective applicants and re-applicants strengthen their application to the MD program at MUSM, the Admissions Office has scheduled a session that is intended to provide information to each of you in this regard. This event is scheduled for Saturday April 18, 2015 at 9:30 am. We encourage you to register this event if you intend to re-apply to the MD program next year.

Please follow the registration link on this page if you wish to register for the event.
Total waste of my time!!! :-\
As cycles go by...they get more competitive as more and more students are applying for (relatively) the same number of slots. Its an unfortunate truth :/
Do you think your interviews usually go well? It seems like you've applied several times and you have improved your application a lot, so I understand how this must be discouraging. I'm just wondering if they're not "advocating" for you the way they do for the people who are accepted, and wondering what kind of impression you make. I'm WL'd at a few schools and accepted to none too, so I think my interviews were not as great as I thought originally.
I'm fairly certain both of my interviewers had not looked over my app. Prior to the interview we were told this was commonly done in order to prevent bias.I'm sorry to hear that. That one interviewer was very offensive and I would also be offended if they did not look at my application at all. :/

Well as everything they wanted to see an increase on was increased, plus I have about 4000 hours specifically in rural health care and everything I have is mostly higher than their average, but not high enough that they autoreject obviously as I had an interview.
They just haven't rejected me though but I remember how they did this from year before last.
Oh well both my interviewers admitted they didn't read my application anyway. Sigh.
Yes.Do you think if at this point we haven't gotten a response, that this is one of those silent rejections?

So I called the mercer office and they said that if you haven't received any communication from the office and you interviewed that you are still under consideration for the waitlist and have not been rejected but they're encouraging you to reapply... so not much help. we're just in limbo. here's to the MCAT 2015!

I would assume so... We're kind of waiting for a waiting list spot is how I interpreted it...which doesn't make much sense to me but hopefully they have some kind of logic behind it. I guess it is better than being rejected? I don't know. she did recommend me going to the seminar they are having so regardless of what that other guy said I feel that it wouldn't be a total waste of time to meet some committee members and talk to them.
Most movement will probably happen shortly after April 30th. That is the deadline for when applicants can hold an acceptance and get their deposit back if they decide to go to another school I believe. I think most people will probably try to pick a school by this date to not lose their deposits at other schools. There may be some movement when financial aid offers go out as well. I think a lot of that movement happens around the beginning of June. Basically by July, most of the waitlist movement is done except for maybe a few more acceptances. When should we expect most of that Waitlist activity to occur? I'm going to have to pull the plug on another school if they make us wait too long. I know they say up until the day before classes start but come on. What's realistic?
Here are the AMCAS traffic rules:Any way to confirm if April 30 is the last date to pay the deposit? How long after the deposit date can we expect Waitlist activity to occur?
Hey I was wondering if anyone was going to this MUSM Strengthening Your Medical School Application Seminar tomorrow? I am wondering what the attire is and if anyone has gone in the past and found it helpful.
Thanks from me too! I was wondering this as well.Hey! I was asking myself the same question so went ahead and emailed to ask a few days ago. They told me business casual would be alright. I'm sure it isn't the end of the world to be overdressed, but I won't be wearing a suit and tie or anything like that.
Has there been any movement on the waitlist? Has anyone heard anything?
