Super-long-time lurker. Has anyone heard anything yet? May 15th is coming up but I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything in the meantime, I feel fairly certain that someone must have withdrawn before now!

Also, do you think there's a difference between ED applicants and RD on the waitlist? I had called and asked a while ago and they said that an ED application plays a part but I don't know how it would.

Congrats!!! Were you ED or RD? And did you apply to Savannah or Macon? But yay! Your wait is over!
 
I originally applied to Macon. Still curious if savannah is an option. I think it would be really cool to live there, and I think those students do just as well as the ones in Macon
 
Alright waiting on my phone call today! Come on already! There has to be more than 2 spots. How many people do you guys and gals think will get in off wait list?
 
I got an email. Still haven't received a phone call. It was pretty brief and said that the acceptance packet would be coming soon.
 
To the two who just got accepted, did y'all submit any "substantial updates" to your application after you were waitlisted?
 
I sent an update letter in November before my interview, but I haven't sent anything since then. I am from super rural Georgia, so that definitely played a role in my acceptance.
 
I just received the acceptance packet. Looks like all of the Savannah Seats are taken up. Says I can do Macon all four years or Macon for 2 and Columbus for 2.
 
I just got an acceptance packet!! Sent at 6 pm today! I never sent any updates letter and I was RD!
 
Accepted today (well, technically yesterday) at 6:30! MCAT 32 cGPA 3.8. I did not provide updates but I did go to their seminar. This whole admissions process is a mystery.
 
I know I'm probably just being neurotic, but of the people who are on the waitlist, do you have a waitlist tab online? I thought I did but now I don't. I don't know what to make of it :/

Mine said wait list when it originally came out but as soon as the time of dropping the wait list happened, they disappeared I think?

SO ANXIOUS.
so we know of like 5 people who have gotten in already off the list?

did you lose your deposit by withdrawing this late? or is the deadline May 15? I have heard some people say it was April 30th and some say it is May 15th!

It is April 30th this year and yes I will lose my deposit, but I am not too bumped about losing it.
 
So I got a call at 4PM today for an acceptance off the waitlist!
I did send in a letter of update and letter of intent.

I do not see a waitlist tab online, either. Is everyone, including those recently admitted, experiencing this as well?
 
I called Mercer a couple of days ago and asked how many people were taken off the waitlist so far, but they said it's not information they're allowed to give out. Don't understand why! Could've sworn I saw so many posts from last year about how many were being pulled throughout the process... Has anyone else asked and gotten an answer?
 
do y'all know if there are any spots still open for the savannah campus?
 
The only option available right now is 2 years in Macon and 2 years in Columbus.
 
Admissions emailed me yesterday and told me that was the only option I could be guaranteed at this point. They said I could be granted my preference if people withdraw in the future
 
I got a spot at the Savannah campus this week. It seems as though there are some spots available but it is much more likely to get Macon.
 
So it seems waitlist movement has slowed down a ton? There hasn't been a post on here about somebody getting in for a while 🙁 anybody know anything about how many people have been bumped off the waitlist already?
 
I got acceptance packet 5/7, sent it back 5/12 (with campus pref sheet), and then called on 5/20 because I had not heard anything and they told me over the phone!

Oh okay! I turned mine in the 15th and got an email the 19th saying I could only be confirmed for Macon the first two years and Columbus the last two. Congrats on getting Savannah!

I don't mind sharing. My stats are a balanced 32 MCAT and a 3.77 GPA. I have about 200 clinical and non-clinical volunteer hours and about 50 shadowing hours. I've done research in 3 different labs with no publications yet, but I have a primary author pub in the works. I graduated from UGA in 2013.

what labs out of curiosity? anything related to UGA?
 
I gave up my acceptance to the Savannah campus and I hope it goes to someone who dreams of attending Mercer! I liked the school but it just wasn't the best fit for me. Best of luck to those still on the waitlist!

Just got switched to Savannah. Anybody know how we can find other students to share apartments with? Savannah is crazy expensive.

Wendy Gaskin, the student affairs specialist, emailed this after I asked about this same:

August 10-14, 2015: Orientation, MS1, Class of 2019

August 15, 2015: Savannah campus White Coat Ceremony

August 17, 2015: First day of class

August 29, 2015: Macon campus White Coat Ceremony

Sorry I can't give more detail, I already emailed her back regarding times/places but she has not replied yet.

Yeah, the lack of communication, relative to other schools, has me less than optimistic at this point.
