Previous months, the calls were after 4-5pm or so on wednesday and then the email acceptances were sent out on friday morning. calls aren’t guarantees, because it’s just if your interviewer had time. so don’t stress yet!

Anyone from the January interviews heard back yet? I interviewed 01/15/26. Statistically ~45% of everyone interviewed should receive a spot based on the past several years of online data. Odd there’s been no word yet this month as a big wave of acceptances happened already this time in years past. Unfortunately, historically yesterday was the last adcom meeting before the waitlist comes out next month.

do we think that maybe they’re just delaying acceptances until next week? it would be weird after they held interviews feb 10 and 12 if they then didn’t send any more acceptancesAnyone from the January interviews heard back yet? (Totally a guess) This is purely conjecture, but I speculate this month’s adcom meeting was pushed one week back to give the interviewers who conducted the 10-12 Feb interviews a full week submit their notes, then an additional week for the committee to independently review them before the meeting.
It seems the earliest anyone gets in post interview is ~two weeks. This one time revised meeting schedule would make sense considering to my knowledge there have never been Feb interviews before this cycle.

I’m totally just guessing based on trends I see, but perhaps. It could be a bit until we hear back though.Meaning it will most likely come out this Wednesday in the evening?
After I interviewed in Jan, I by chance a few days later met a member of the adcom who told me “It will be awhile until you find out, but that’s not a negative for your application.” That was all the info they were able to provide to me due to the rules and such.

All I’m seeing is rejection updates from folks who didn’t get interview offers. The last chance to receive an interview invite was in Jan anyways.Alot of movement on admit.org today
I imagine it was some notification reminder sent out today by admit to update your status.
(Totally a guess) Still no one from the Jan or Feb interviews have heard anything yet. To my estimation it was ~80 people interviewed Jan-Feb, so ~35 spots if you extrapolate using the ~45% acceptance post-interview stats from years past. They wouldn’t have offered those interviews if at least some of those spots weren't still left so we just wait.

I’m hoping so.Are we thinking we'll hear something today?

It was just a guess about today given the unique Feb interviews that were offered this cycle, didn’t mean to get people’s hopes up unnecessarily. Unfortunately they might not send anything else out until the waitlist comes out next month. Sorry folks :/Has anyone heard anything yet?

Did anyone else notice how MSAR says something like “latest notice of acceptance as March 1st”? I’m almost wondering if that might be the next date anyone hears back
Even if they don’t lots of them ppl get in off the waitlist. Also consider they will be losing applicants to uga now that they opened. STAYING HOPEFUL FOR THE WAITLIST!!as in you think they won’t send out any more acceptances?

This is what I’m suspecting now too. It doesn’t mean we don’t have a shot. Last year 30 people were accepted from Mercer’s waitlist according to AAMC. Also last year when the list came out a few a’s were given at that time too.Even if they don’t lots of them ppl get in off the waitlist. Also consider they will be losing applicants to uga now that they opened. STAYING HOPEFUL FOR THE WAITLIST!!

That’s what’s been messing with my head too, that’s why I was guessing they just pushed this months meeting backTrue, i still feel they’ll be sending out acceptances since it would’ve been a waste of time and resources to interview people throughout january and february if none of those people are being considered for an acceptance

No point in worrying about it. Could be today, could be end of March, could be April 😂 They’ve never rly done this before I don’t think, could be wrong…well based on past years when are people thinking we may hear back next ?

Anyone get a call this afternoon? Just wondering, no clue what’s going on this cycle, they’ve broken all the past cycles’ trends at this point.
To my knowledge, based on some future M1 insiders, no one who interviewed in late Jan or early Feb has heard back yet still.

They're on spring break this week. as for past cycles 2021-2022 forums had some previous behavior similar to this cycle. They did a third Wednesday that March acceptances and then waitlist/rejected on the 28th.Anyone get a call this afternoon? Did anyone hear anything today? Or are we all assuming the third Wednesday as usual?
The last day is going to be this third Wednesday now. Obviously it can trickle into Thursday and Friday, but this next Wednesday will be it. After that, go ahead and expect/prepare for wait list and rejections, they normally release it around the 27th 28th but they have till the 31st. There's also no specific time as it happens throughout the entirety of the day. And time receiving the wait list notification does not appear to indicate ranking on it either. Good luck! God be with you all, Hopefully we get in.Did anyone hear anything today? Or are we all assuming the third Wednesday as usual?

Good luck everyone as we head into what should be the big decision wave on Wednesday! The waiting has been brutal and confusing this cycle, but we’re getting close to the end.
Regardless of what happens next week, remember this isn’t the end of the road just the next step. Excited to see who here gets that A!
On the bright side, there should be more waitlist movement this year with UGA. Last year there were 30 waitlist As, so hopefully we can expect almost double.

Probably not aLot, as most seats are filled at this point. As we get close to waitlist typically 170 are waitlisted and 30 are moved off for acceptances.Does anyone know how many seats are left in the class as we go into this last decision day?

If our interviewer does not have time to call us Wednesday if we do get accepted, it won’t be updated on our portal either that day? Or will we also get emailed Wednesday of the A or just wait for an email Th/F?

I heard through the grapevine that there were actually a few A’s in January. That doesn’t change the fact that there were none from Feb though.with there being no acceptance emails all of January and February, hopefully there’s a chance more spots are open at this point than past years

I wonder if they were interviewed in January. I saw some January acceptanances on admit from November...only can keep praying at this point!I heard through the grapevine that there were actually a few A’s in January. That doesn’t change the fact that there were none from Feb though.

The two I know about interviewed 1st week of Jan. I don’t know anyone who’s interviewed since that’s heard back, not to say no one has but I’ve certainly asked around multiple sources and insiders.I wonder if they were interviewed in January. No one really knows for certain, we’re all trying to piece things together from past cycles.I am asking this question in the gentlest manner since I know emotions are a little raw...why do folks think we will hear back today? I noticed here and over on admit that folks think we'll hear something today but based on the 24-25 admit cycle, and 24-25 and 23-24 SDN cycles, it doesn't seem like there is any movement until late March, followed but some more activity in early April.
Again, I know folks are raw and I'm not trying to take hope away, I'm just wonder why folks think this year will be different? Unless I read the tea leaves wrong and there was more activity last year that just isn't reflected in these online forums.
That said, this cycle has already been different. Interviews into late Jan and early Feb, which hasn’t been the norm in the past, thus it’s hard to assume the past timeline will hold.
But if you look back at 2021–2022, there was a similar delay where a larger wave of acceptances came 3rd Wed of March before the waitlist.
On top of that, there’s the new in-state UGA school sniping admitted students so it wouldn’t be surprising that timing and movement don’t match previous cycles.
At this point, I think it’s fair to say we’re all just waiting to see how it plays out rather than assuming one specific timeline. May the odds be in your favor!

It just feels so weird they’d offer the late Jan early Feb interviews if they had no intention of giving those folks any spots at all right? Better luck next time I guess, hope the waitlist treats us well.

I’ll pour drink to that, team neurotic. At least we can agree this cycle has been brutal 😂You could still be correct. Based on that 21-22 cycle it seems like decisions came out the next day?
The fact that they admit half their class from ED means they care about yield. I wonder how UGA opening will impact that…
In any instance, I appreciate every one who is active here. It’s nice to not be neurotic alone.

Do you all mind sharing when you interviewed? I almost want to say that it won’t be that big of a pull from MCG though. UGA will post grades, has mandatory class attendance, and has a dress code (from the UGA informational zoom). Since MCG is pass/fail with optional attendance, and is a much older medical school with established connections, I can see more people choosing MCG over UGA.I saw the 21-22 trend but I didn’t give it as much weight as the more recent cycles due to 21-22 being the last of the COVID cycles.
I think I assume the UGA effect will be a trickle down and not take place until April when UGA makes their admissions decisions. As in, UGA will definitely pull some of the top students but I assume the pulled students will probably come from MCG at which point MGC will pull some from Mercer but that we wouldn’t see the impact of this until April after UGA makes its admissions decisions.
Good luck to you as well.
That’s very true!I think that is a really fair take. But…
1. When I talk to folks IRL and look at many of the folks applying to UGA on admit, many of them already have an MCG “A”…are they applying just to see? I can’t say what it is for folks on admit but the folks I’ve talked to IRL see UGA as more “prestigious” with better name recognition outside of Georgia. While I don’t know how much this matters in medicine, as it seems like residency PDs would value a more established program, the folks applying there seem to think there is value there.
2. MCG had some serious culture issues for quite some time and many of the students I know that went there disliked it; quite a few members of staff were let go not too recently. I don’t know how much that factors for folks but it is definitely something I’ve listed to more than once from current MCG students.
3. In Georgia, UGA is UGA.
Again, I also attended the UGA info session and think your take is a very rational. I just think that sometimes the soft stuff, the ego stuff, matters more than is rational.
Personally, myself and a few others from my SMP chose MCG over UGA and didn’t fill out the secondary for UGA after the information session. It felt like a riskier decision for me personally with UGA’s grades being posted and it being a brand new school; but that’s just me, and I’m sure others would definitely disagree with me. I know that the UGA name definitely holds A LOT of weight (especially in the southeast). It’s definitely true that some would choose UGA over MCG because it’s Georgia and it’s UGA.

Do you know where to find more information about the culture issues at MCG? I think I saw 1 post a couple years ago alluding to an issue with a staff member, but didn't hear much else elsewhere or at visit day, so I don't know if there's more widespread things I should be aware of.I think that is a really fair take. But…
