They might have kept a longer waitlist this year than what they typically do because they don't know how many students will choose to go to UGA over them. When I was looking on MSAR is said that typically the MUSM waitlist is only about 100 people, but this year it is 160.

This was so beautifully written and I relate so much. Those verses are so fitting to what we’re going through in this cycle… and I just read Isaiah 40:31 recently, wow! I have to submit the desire daily as well 🙏🏾 stay encouraged in Christ, future Doc! ❤️
Girllll, that was nothing but the Holy Spirit giving me those words to say lol. Nevertheless, thank you for the encouragement. We will get through this. May the Lord continue to order our steps and be with us. Have a great day!

is there a particular order on their waitlist? i know MCG releases quintiles and wasn’t sure if mercer lets people know where they stand on a list of 160 people

Hey everyone! I wanted to share an update after digging into this over the past week to make sense of this cycle.

From what I’ve gathered speaking IRL with a few recently accepted students (accepted as of last Thursday), it sounds like several people received acceptances the day after the waitlist was released.

Our working theory is that some of these acceptances may have come from a late AdCom meeting that occurred after the waitlist decision had already been posted, meaning those individuals may not have actually come off the waitlist, but were part of a delayed last round of direct acceptances.

I also heard (from a source with some insight into the process) that, as of this past Monday, there haven’t been confirmed acceptances pulled from the waitlist yet.

If that’s true, it would suggest that we could still expect a similar amount of waitlist movement as prior cycles (roughly ~30 acceptances), since that movement may not have started yet.

One other data point: those of us accepted last Thursday haven’t yet been added to group chats or assigned campuses even after submitting deposits, which may further suggest some timeline irregularities this cycle, although they stated it could be up to 15 days before we receive that information after paying the deposit.

Obviously take all of this as informal info, just trying to piece things together and share what I’ve found. This has been quite the mysterious cycle. I just like to try to make sense of things and hopefully give some possibilities to those waiting.

I talked to admissions on the phone this week a few different times about all the acceptance paperwork. They have been slammed due to graduation this week, and finalizing the latest wave of direct acceptances (There’s so much paperwork after you’ve been accepted). Then it’s finals week next week at the school.

I imagine all that could possibly delay waitlist pulls a bit too.

Thank you for constantly checking on admission for us on the waitlist even after your acceptance!
