Accepted off of the WL yesterday! Juliet and Dr. Lynch called and later emailed me! I absolutely love their energy and enthusiasm!
Could you fill us in on whether or not you sent UF any post-interview updates or letters of interest/intent? Thanks!Accepted off of the WL yesterday! Juliet and Dr. Lynch called and later emailed me! I absolutely love their energy and enthusiasm!
^Congrats! Does anyone know if UF releases position on waitlist?
You can do research starting day 1 if you'd like. I do research 10 hours a week (less during exam weeks) and began this my first week of school. Over the summer between years 1 and 2, you can do a 10 week (that's the length of the summer break) research project that is sponsored by the college. You'll choose from a list of projects or create your own and receive a 2000 dollar stipend. The research can be in basically anything. Additionally, you can join a research "track" and complete the track requirements over the course of your degree and graduate with recognition. There are tracks for bench work, humanities, medical education, health policy, etc. Check out the website for more info. You can do both the 10 weeks summer project and be part of a track, just one or the other, or neither. It is not frowned upon if you choose to do none of those things nor will it affect your status or advancement through the program. What percentage of med students also do basic/clinical research during first and second year, and does the curriculum allow time for that? Thank you!
How do you know this?UF will be offering positions to those on the current wait list. I can't say much more other than that people on the wait list are receiving invitations, but at least you know it is still possible that you'll be admitted if you are currently on the wait list. Good luck to you all!
Does anyone know if there has been much waitlist movement?
Has there been any waitlist movement? I know it's late, just curious.
And when does the school year start? (I'm assuming this would be the definitive deadline for people getting off the waitlist)
I emailed them a week ago and they responded saying that waitlist movement is very slow and they don't expect much more movement. They mentioned that they would not encourage anyone to delay plans while waiting for the waitlist to move...which is unfortunate...
I'm a student at UFCOM and was told this directly by someone from the admissions office face to face. How do you know this?
Did you interview with UF? UF is my IS school and obviously much less expensive. I'm currently wait listed (for starting this fall - 2016) but have not interviewed. If I get accepted from one of the schools that I'm interviewing with and respond before the April 15 deadline, then get a call from UF, I guess I can't do anything about it, huh?Accepted off of the WL yesterday!
