Really confused as to whether or not I received an II... I just got an email telling me to open the secondary back up and it's telling me to list interview date preferences.

I was rejected after my secondary, sent in an appeal but have yet to hear back regarding the appeal.

Only one way to find out! Fill out your interview preferences and see if you get the interview confirmation email. 🙂 I got mine the same day I filled out my preferences.

Submitted application and sent in photograph. Now we wait!

I think it means you got the interview! I just got the final rejection email. It was expected, ah well good luck !

Added this school to AMCAS about a week ago but still haven't gotten a secondary. I was verified forever ago. Did it take a bit for you guys to get yours?

I was verified July 9th and received their fee request July 10th, confirmation email July 14th, "Secondary" July 15th, II confirmation July 16th.

I submitted amcas a few days ago only for unmc as I am a nebraska resident and UNL grad and doing an 11 month smp this fall in kansas city. Should i pretty much expect a rejection with a balanced 27 mcat? I am applying all DO except for here but saw that ~90 in state applicants receive an interview.

I wouldn't expect a rejection right away, I guessing they will at least interview you. I think the according to the MSAR, a 28 or 27 is the bottom 10% accepted.

Rejected, appealed, II
Super excited!

I was informed that I am missing the genetics requirement though. I need to complete it before matriculation If accepted. Anybody know of a school that does it online and is relatively organized. I have seen berkely and Oregon state from years past, but was wondering if anyone else had another option.

OOS?

Well... got my mcat. UNMC is likely out of the picture now... wish they had MCAT distribution for in state residents only, but they told me they don't really have a figure that is separated. I got a 24 🙁

+1
I live 1 hour from this school, but in a different state, and they still didn't even give my application a chance. If you are OOS and don't have a GREAT connection, I wouldn't attempt this school. They will just steal your money.
wowwwwwww, that is even more messed up than my situation. So sad. Warning everyone: Do not apply here!

I'll be honest, it's not looking good. Is there anything unique you can add to the class? I know two people who were accepted with low scores. male/22 mcat and a female/24 mcat. They both were VERY unique. My suggestion would be to study your ass off and take it again. From the time i began studying and taking practice tests i improved my score substantially.

A "great connection" to one person might be different to another. I'd say if you have at least had family live in nebraska for some point in time and your numbers are in line with their medians, give it a try, especially if you're financials allow you to do so.

I'm October 10th![/QUOTE]

I haven't chosen an interview date yet. I actually plan on doing it tonight. October 10th will be my first choice!

no not really. i mean i was a spanish major, studied abroad, and did two mission trips to a spanish speaking country. i did a summer research project at UNMC and will be getting a letter from that PI. i know the dean for student affairs for the COM but of course she has to recuse herself from my app. i am getting a LOR from the head of a department at UNMC. i have volunteered at UNMC. i have hundreds of shadowing hours (some with the dean i mentioned) both in the OR and clinics at UNMC. my mom has worked at UNMC since before me being born, and the same department (OR) for like 15 years of my life so naturally i basically grew up in the OR.. always there or calling there/paging her for something. then she spent another 3 or so in sterile processing and since then she has been in another department for about 7 years which i visit almost every week and the head of the department that is writing my LOR loves me and actually asked my mom if he could write me a letter before i even asked him.

i feel like i have shown so much commitment to them, but without a secondary, i don't know how i would express that unless i got an interview.

Most PI's don't have that much pull unless you're talking about Gendelman or Fox. What' s keeping you from retaking the MCAT?
i am retaking. i wish the dean could have input honestly, i have known her for about 10 years

Does anybody know how Nebraska looks at OOS applicants post interview?
I notice on MSAR that 19 OOS people matriculated of the 167 that interviewed. Are OOSers still at a significant disadvantage, or are these numbers low because most OOS people want to avoid the high COA and choose other schools?

I've wondered the same thing. I feel like it's more the latter.

My app has been verified since Monday and still no word from UNMC. I'm IS applying EDP so I'm sure I'll get an interview...but still, the suspense!

I am waiting on a transcript from a college that I am taking courses at currently (haven't taken classes there before). If it doesn't come in soon I might just submit a transcript exemption since they are current courses and I want to apply EDP. Thoughts on this? The app just has to be submitted by august 1st correct? Not actually verified...

I am an OOS applicant here as well. On the secondary status check it says that "A letter has been sent confirming your interview date.", and Interview Scheduled. Does that actually mean I got an interview here? I am excited if it does haha! 😀

My last transcript came in so my app is officially submitted to UNMC for EDP. Kind of late in the process since it will still take a few weeks to get verified, but exciting nonetheless!

When you apply EDP it gets verified quickly - mine was the same day.

Ahh got the official email today! I am soooo surprised at how fast UNMC works! OOS received first interview invite of the cycle!! October 10th! 🙂 I'll see all y'all else who are scheduled for that time then! 🙂

Wait where is the secondary status page!? 😕

How soon after your application was verified did you receive a II? My MCAT won't be in until next week so I'm wondering if I won't get one until then. I'm IS

It was a week after it was verified before I heard from UNMC. They might be waiting on your MCAT score, but since you're IS I would think you'll get an interview no matter what it is

Has anyone received the letter confirming the interview date yet?

See ya there!!!! OOS and first II as well!!!

How long after submitting secondary did OOS applicants hear back?

I submitted my AMCAS to them last night and got a secondary(payment request) first thing in the morning. There's no such secondary
