However, because this is on the main USF undergrad campus, I feel like you could also take advantage of the resources there like their bigger gyms, libraries, more eating places, etc.

I feel like a medical student can describe USF better than me.

The library is currently being renovated so it will resemble the nicer areas of the interior of the campus (i.e. group learning areas). A dining facility/coffeeshop is planned for the WELL area which should improve the food options directly on campus. Although they have food trucks visit daily to the campus (some of which are delicious!), there still limited prepared food options on the campus at lunchtime. The anatomy lab is renovated and new with big screen tv's and good ventilation.

Downtown area is a very exciting development but it's still a bit unclear how it's going to change the medical school experience. I had a faculty member tell me recently that he thinks the anatomy lab would still be on the old campus.
 
Has anyone who has been accepted gotten the background check email yet, or know when we are supposed to get it?

Not yet, I was actually starting to wonder if I missed it myself haha. Oh pre med neuroses...

I take it you didn't get it either?
 
Recently received a SELECT II, OOS LizzyM 72. I will likely be declining the offer as I have already been accepted to a higher choice; best of luck to everyone else and I hope the II goes to one of yall!

Hi everyone! I just did my SELECT interview on the 12th in Allentown. I just want to let future interviewees know that the experience was wonderful. Everyone was really nice to answer your questions....which I had ALOT >.< mainly because I think the select program is quite unique and interesting. The surgical simulation during the tour was incredibly fun. Everything just made me really want to attend this program! so if you have an interview coming up, don't sweat it! I think you'll enjoy the experience just like I have.

On another note, I did have a follow up question to one of the host doctor robert D. barraco. Does anyone have his email address? He told me to email him right before he left but I totally forgot to get his email address. OPS!
 
The people who interviewed on January 6, we were supposed to hear back today right? Anyone heard back yet?
 
Is there a portal status change if your application is reviewed?

Ah I see, well either way I think the turnaround is still somewhat fast looking at previous years' threads. I hope everything works out for the best for you. Maybe they will let you know by end of January, the meeting times are probably different for the programs although I am not 100% sure.
 
I had a core interview on 12/8 and heard back on 12/22 I think. I would expect to hear soon because as said they seem to move relatively well
 
Does anyone know if USF has a second look day? I haven't heard anything about it and was wondering if they even have one.
 
Yes they do! I emailed asking them last week and it will be 4/23 and 4/24. They said they'll send more info as it gets closer!

Congrats on your acceptance! The current MS1s will be making a Facebook page for accepted students in the near future. I believe I was invited to my class' page around early March last year, so you guys should be hearing from us soon (provided your fb is searchable) 🙂 We're looking forward to meeting all of you!

Just received a voicemail but didn't get a reply when I called back after work. Is this likely an acceptance? For those curious I interviewed 1/20.

I got an II in November and interviewed a couple of weeks ago for SELECT. I was an MSP3'er last year. Haven't heard anything official but there have been rumblings of wait list letters mailed last Friday. Im assuming the recent blizzard in New England has delayed my letter's arrival.

Oh boy...this makes me nervous. I interviewed for SELECT just a few days ago. How was your friend feeling about the interview afterward? I wonder if they're still actually evaluating candidates at this point or just blanket-waitlisting everyone.
 
Any current MSP3'ers getting any attention from this school? We're almost to February, and I feel like my chances are dwindling.
