Applying here with a 3.6 and 515. Wondering if this is good enough for Drexel? Also, in response to everyone who hasn't heard back yet or hasn't received a secondary, my friend who attends Drexel med has told me that Drexel is notoriously slow with everything in terms of admissions and communications in general, so I am getting ready for a long wait to even receive my secondary. But, my mcat score just came back a couple days ago so can't say I'm feeling impatient just yet. Good luck everyone 🙂
 
Also got the complete email. Was so hoping for an II 😛
 
I submitted on 8/2 and the portal says that my application is complete but I never got an email... Now I'm paranoid that my email is broken :sorry:
 
also just got the complete email. was scared that it was a big fat rejection. got the secondary on monday, and submitted it monday. quick turnaround
 
I've been complete since the end of July according to the portal thing...but never got an email... cue anxiety 😕
 
That email near gave me a heart attack..and then I realized it was a complete. K cool, thanks.
 
I got the complete email a few hours ago as well - submitted 8/7, and the portal itself said "complete" on 8/10. I think they did just send everything in a batch, haha.
 
Yeah, I'm assuming as long as it's good on the portal, it's alright
 
Their initial email says not to email them about receiving parts of your application- guessing that extends to asking about not getting an email about being complete, but actually being marked complete for almost 4 weeks now? lol :shrug:

And general consensus seems to be just to wait for a confirmation email? I wish they did it like some schools that at least have automated messages about receiving everything.

Yup that was it! It felt quite nice after the long, brutal secondaries I've been going through.
And yes they will send a complete email but you can also check your status online. 🙂
 
This is probably a really dumb question, but does lab experience mean the lab components to core science classes or additional research experience (whether it be volunteer or paid) with a professor. I have both but I want to make sure and was only going to select my experience outside of class but I want to make sure I make the app as accurate as possible.

I believe it says under the explanation for lab experience that it is fulfilled with the lab components to the sciences, so I would check those as well!
 
Do they just not complete people right away?
It makes me so nervous to see a school still "Incomplete"
 
Has anyone contacted the admissions office about not getting a complete email for a while?
Been complete since the end of July on the portal and haven't gotten an email from them. Thanks!

If your portal says you are complete, then you are complete. No need to email them to double check that you are actually complete.
 
For those of you who received II, were you notified via E-mail, or was the notification only on your portal?

I don't think any have come out yet. I could be wrong, but last year they were out on 9/9. However, the secondary came earlier this year so I would expect to see some IIs in the next week or two.

Twins? 3.67 514 here. I think we're competitive enough number wise...I think the slowness may help us out 😉
 
Ok Drexel's secondary is a little confusing. So for each course you put on AMCAS it seems you need to categorize them into the listed competencies but some of my courses are repeats or withdraw soooo does anybody how to handle that? Should I just categorize them because it fits into the competency or should I leave it blank because those courses technically do not reflect 'competency'.

I'm pretty sure it's more related to if the course fits "in" the competencies..so if it's a Bio course with lab.. I would check Bio and Lab. There's no way to determine whether or not you are actually competent in that subject without some form of exam..so I'd go with whatever the course is related to...and what competencies you can categorize the course as.
 
received email stating i was complete...submitted 8/24. That was pretty quick.

I havent gotten a complete email either...just payment confirmation. My portal also says complete. Submitted 8/2

I got an email saying:
Dear XXXX:

Thank you for your interest in the Drexel University College of Medicine. We are pleased to inform you that your file is complete.

Your file will be reviewed as soon as possible. We endeavor to make decisions in a timely manner, however, we have many files to review. Please allow up to three months for an update.
.......
.......
 
Submitted 8/2, portal says 'complete' but no email received yet. They might be sending their complete emails in batches but not necessarily in strict order of application received.

Nah, I wouldn't worry just yet. I am a re-applicant, so that may be why I was complete so quickly.

I'm a first time app and I got the email today as well. Secondary submitted less than 7 days ago. Maybe were special 🙂
 
Kidding aside,
My fiancé works in a building only a few blocks away. GIVE ME LOVE.
 
so my amcas was verified july 1st. kept calling drexel when the secondary started coming out and they were like "yea it's coming don't worry". finally decided today to do something desperate and logged into the portal with the banner id and pin given to me from last year. my secondary is sitting in the portal for god knows how long. I am going to go cry in the corner and while i am at it, also send a letter to the admissions department. this wasn't something i was expecting. -_-
 
Submitted 8/5, no "complete email".... Why do schools do this us 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎. Has anyone called?


edit: I checked my status and it says they received my fee waiver august 25. I submitted everything else on the 5th, ughhhh
