IS, Interviewed in October. This is my second application cycle, and my second interview at UACOM-Tucson. Last year they provided us with the "hold" email POST-interview as people have posted above. This year however it seems that they're not even sending that...just silence. I haven't heard a thing since my interview yet people who interviewed 11/21 have been accepted. Seems that they've changed the way they communicate. It was bad enough to begin with, but I didn't think it could any worse...
 
Not generally an SDN user but I lurk here. IS student 1st time applicant. Was accepted 2wks post interview! Hang in there guys. Also, does anyone know about the FB page?

The admissions office does not allow/care for addendum letters. I think they basically toss them. Not sure about intent letters

I don't think they accept them even if you're on hold unfortunately :/ When were you complete/when did you receive notice of the hold if you don't mine me asking?

I called to ask the same questions a couple weeks ago and they told me that they don't accept any updates 🙁
 
Sure Arizona, I'll do the post-interview survey, just let the tachycardia that email subject line induced resolve itself first, lol
 
Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster here 🙂
I called this morning and was told that they will ONLY be sending monthly-ish update emails to people post-interview. I interviewed last cycle (in January) and this cycle (in October), and last cycle we got regular emails every time acceptances went out to let us know that although we didn't make the cut that time, we were still in the running. Just wanted to pass that info along since it's scary to call in 🙂

Ahhh thank you! It's been driving me crazy not hearing anything post interview at almost 10 weeks out haha.

Completed September 10th, got pre-ii hold 11-25. Does anyone know where the abbreviation II for interview comes from, btw? hahaha
 
Accepted!!! OOS. Interviewed December 5th.

I'm blown away, I LOVED this school and the area and really didn't think it was going to work out for me (I'm sure we are all having self esteem issues at this point in the cycle, lol). Everyone still waiting- keep your head up! We are all going to make it where we are supposed to make it and become excellent physicians.

OOS. Interviewed Nov 13 and loved it in Tucson. Thought I bombed it and went home thinking oh well. Got an acceptance earlier. Do not lose hope!

So I interviewed Nov 21. They just emailed me that I'm under review, does that mean they just started reviewing or is that like the "you're not selected yet but we're still reviewing your application"?

Not at all! Got that two days post interview and 2weeks later I was in! All the best
 
Having already been placed on pre-interview hold back on 11/25, I just received two status update emails, both identical to the original hold message. Pretty strange, huh? I'm sure this is just some glitch in the U of A's system. Still, I feel like I'm being trolled by the adcom.

I got the exact same series of emails, really strange
 
Anyone know how many interview slots are still open? I applied awhile back but its been complete silence!

Yea, I just got the same "we're still considering you" email that I got on Nov 25. I think it is along the lines of what @Jessicabpc was saying:

Got the same two hold emails today as well. At this point, I'm wondering how many interview slots are even left.. February is definitely approaching fast!
 
On hold but "Still considering" email for the 3rd month in a row today 🙁

I got the same email this morning. I interviewed in August. Weird thing is...I got an email in late October saying that they had sent out a round of acceptances, and I was still being considered. I'm not sure how to take this new email....wasn't my application under review this entire time?
 
does that email mean a final decision has been made (and it isn't an acceptance) or they are still reviewing our file?

It means they're still reviewing our file... or at least I hope they are lol

Just to clarify, does Tucson outright reject anyone pre-interview, or do they just put everyone who doesn't get IIs on hold?

I got it two days after my interview and then I got accepted two weeks later. Also, I asked around and got information from 1st years that I knew when I got it.

I actually found this doc that is pretty helpful in understanding the process http://medicine.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/u7/AdmissionsCommitteeReport2014_0.pdf. It looks like, at least based on 2013-2014 cycle, if an applicant's file is considered by the full committee, they have a 77% chance of being offered acceptance, with half the remaining files being placed on the waitlist.

How do you know if your file is being considered by the full committee? I got the "under review" email again this past Saturday, which I thought was weird because I interviewed in mid October and got an "under review" email back around halloween time. (Hopefully good news soon, but I'm careful of not getting my hopes too high)
 
So I see second look day is 3 days, anyone have any word on what the schedule and itinerary looks like for those 3 and if it is family friendly (i.e. Can I bring my spouse?). I know it's not for a few months but can't wait to meet my fellow future medcats!
