I just got a call today from Eileen. She wanted to confirm my desire to stay on the waitlist. Not sure when waitlist movement is going to happen but I hope it's soon!!

Thank you! I have two weeks to confirm my "intent to register" on the application portal. They will be sending the official acceptance letter via snail mail in a couple of days.

Spoke with Eileen today too, seeing that voicemail was a heart stopper haha. Is everyone on the wl getting similar calls?
 
Nothing for me. Although I did send an email letting her know about my continual interest in the program and she did respond back. It may be that she's only calling those on the waitlist that still stand a chance to get in Hahaha

Cheer up, I'm only speculating. Judging from the Facebook posts, most of the accepted individuals are from California or have ties from California. As an OOS applicant, I'm not too hopeful at this point. It'd be a beyond nice surprise to get an acceptance to a CA school but I know the chances of me getting in are slim. Especially with a LM of 68.
 
Also on the alternate list, didn't get a call. For those of you who got calls, had you sent in any updates/LOI recently to show you were still interested? And anyone else get an acceptance after talking to Eileen?

Like many. I am on the WL anxiously waiting for some good news. Did she happen to say if movement is expected soon? Are you IS? Wish we knew where we stood on the list for some type of expectation to get in or not.....

congrats waitlistguy !! Do you mind sharing when your initial interview was?/how many updates you sent/ did you get the acceptance call from Peterson or Eileen?/ as well as the phone call asking to stay on the waitlist? 🙂

Thank you! Interviewed December, WL January, sent one LOI, one update, and one additional LOR, and got an acceptance call from Dr. Peterson. However, no call about staying on the waitlist.
 
Congrats to those who have gotten accepted! 🙂 For those of you who submitted additional LORs after being waitlisted, did you have the writer send them directly to UCI admissions?

My letter writer sent it in to interfolio and then from there I had them send it to the UCI admissions email.
 
I was told via phone that additional LOR may be sent as an email attachment to their medadmit email address. Also important was a statement by the recommender that you have waived your right to review the letter.

I also asked my recommender to include my AMCAS ID as an identifier just in case. Hope this helps!

As in, your letter writer needs to state in the letter that you have waived your rights, or should there be a waiver form of some sort with a signature, etc.
 
Wow, so many people are hearing back for the waitlist! It's ironic that before I was so eager to see activity on this thread. Now it's the reverse. The more I see, it seems less likely it is that I will have a spot.. :hungover: Really wish things could work out for me here, but if not, then it wasn't meant to be. congrats to all of the new acceptances!
 
Accepted off the waitlist earlier today!! Sent in a LOR and LOI during late april, and an update letter a couple of days ago! Irene also called on Monday asking if I was interested in staying on the waitlist, although she said that she shouldn't have called, because she saw my update letter in her email, and should have put two and two together haha. So I don't think that getting a call necessarily means something important! Also, in state applicant!
 
For those of you who were accepted off the waitlist, how long did they give you to accept/reject the offer?
 
Just wondering, for those of you accepted off the waitlist, did you receive any emails? Like setting up uci email/student accounts, anything like that? thanks! 🙂
 
does anybody know what percentage of med students get an on-campus housing offer?
 
has anyone tried emailing their interviewer in addition to emailing the committee?

I sent a thank you after my interview if that's what you're asking... otherwise, in regards to post-interview status, I haven't sent anything. What is it exactly that you would want to send them?

honestly, no idea. just trying to think of things that we haven't been tried yet to advance off the wait list. do you think at this point our interviewers advocate for us or its just Dr Peterson selecting?

Tbh I'm not the best person to ask. At this point it seems as though the waitlist order has been decided and they're going to cycle through them in the order that they decided on (Dr Peterson and the others on the admissions committee), also given the pending work load they will go through as they cycle through applications for the upcoming cycle . I don't think our interviewers can do much advocating from here on really.
