Haha you totally stole that from Mizzou's thread

A good joke nonetheless.

Any of the late January applicants receive initial decision yet?

For those like myself on "Hold", when are we supposed to receive our letters?

Has anyone from the last set of interviews inquired to see when KU is sending the decision letters? I'm not able to call haha

nothing here either 🙁 maybe we will just be waiting until mid-march for final decisions at this point?
From what I remember from interview day, Dean McCurdy said that if we don't hear back the first week of March, we should hopefully hear on the second week. But I'm not able to call and ask if that is still accurate haha.

Okay, I had a friend who called today to get an update. Apparently the decisions were wrapped up yesterday and officially sent out this morning.

The Mid-March Official decisions or the late January interview initial decisions?

Almost certainly the late January ones. KU has pretty consistently sent decisions for holds between March 16-18th. But hey in less than 2 weeks we can all stop holding :heckyeah:
I was thinking Dean McCurdy said March 14th or was it just the week of?

I thought it was around the 14th because that is when the campus preference selection starts, as stated on the campus preference email. But it'll come when it comes and be here before we know it.

Wow I was wrong 😕. I just got a letter with my alternate list # so it looks like hold decisions are already done! Alas the wait continues for me :bear:

For those that are curious, the letter says within the last 5 years 5-36 alternates have been accepted.

Wait so you were someone on hold?

Congrats on alternate list though! You can PM me if you want to talk about it more.

Yes I was put on hold after an early January interview. I'm far back on the list that odds are against me but maybe this'll be a lucky year. Good luck to everyone else still waitin'!

Congrats!!! Alternate list is way way way better than what it could be!! Would you mind sharing your stats??

510 MCAT, 3.8 GPA, 3.9 science, volunteering since middle school, and did some shadowing and scribing after college. Interviews were admittedly not great. I got so anxious . Alternates don't get contacted until May-ish so it's another wait, and I'm past the 20s on the list so I'm gently placing the hopes on the ground for now. Invites for the postbac program are usually sent last week of this month so I'm hoping for that.

Edit: Born & raised in Wichita, KS, and this is my second year applying. So I'll definitely get in next time right?? 😀

thanks for sharing! Are you in-state? Also, you never know what will happen. Hang in there.

Thanks for sharing!! Were you IS or OOS??

Got my letter yesterday! I'm heading to KU Med!!! Good luck to everyone else - hope to see you in July!
Congrats on the acceptances ladies and gents. Still haven't gotten my final decision. Was there an email attached?

No email just a snail mail letter. I interviewed Jan 5th if that helps at all.

Last year I believe people who's letters were delayed were rejected. Darn.

Received yesterday?
yes. I'm out of the state now, but I live in Topeka.... adding a few weeks later... non trad students don't lose hope! I'm older with a background in critical care as a RRT. MCAT was 28, gpa a little low, interviews went very well. Military. They really do look for well rounded people.

Rejected as of yesterday after late January interview. I'm OOS, some ties to Kansas City and Kansas. 512 MCAT (34ish) and 3.83 GPA. I'm guessing they probably did not like my lack of relevant medical and/or research experience. I was a division 1 athlete throughout college so not a lot of time to do much else! Maybe next year though!

I'm sorry to hear that. Those are great stats! Keep trying for sure. I'm still really confused why some people received letters and others didn't.
