Is there anyone who has more information on the post bacc program? As an URM who did well at the interview stage, what are the chances of an acceptance to the KUMC post bacc program?

I can't speak to chances aside from what's been discussed in the thread, but have you reached out to the office is Diversity and Inclusion and/or applied? Couldn't quite tell from your question.

I did a different program with the KUMC health pathways program in recent years and they talked a lot about post-bacc, and we got to talk to a lot of the post-bacc people during this time and the director of the programs. They choose people who appear to need help getting into medical school. What I mean is, if you have a fairly decent MCAT and your GPA is 3.7/3.8 and above, you MOST likely would not be chosen for post-bacc because you can get into medical school on your own merit. But if you have a lower MCAT and your GPA is a little lower, they will be more willing to accept you and you will be able to strengthen your science foundations by taking science classes this summer and throughout the next academic year. Hopefully that makes sense.

I am waitlisted but decided to apply
to post-bacc. My GPA is pretty high, and my application is good, but I messed up on the MCAT. So based on how they select people, I don't have high hopes for getting post-bacc :/ but I'm keeping a little hope alive lol.

Has anyone heard back regarding the pre-matriculation program? Just curious since the webpage states admissions should have been sent by 4/30.

...an email came today that, basically, said; because of unforeseen problems the date for receiving final decisions on post-bac status will be May 8 instead of May 5, 2017...

Accepted! Interviewed 1/4. Number 18 on the alternate list. Best of Luck to you all! They are now on 21. Waitlist is moving pretty fast.

For those on the "pending list" for KC/Wichita, I spoke with admissions today and they will be contacting those on the list within the next few days

Is parking really that bad? And if so, is it recommended to live within walking distance of campus?

Similar question, I plan on commuting from Overland Park about 30 mins away, is that doable?

Speaking as a current employee, parking spots can get hard to find only if you arrive between 9am and 4pm. The only issue for me is that it's about a 15 minute walk from the "cheap" parking spots to the center of campus (you get to pick if you want to spend $130 or >$1000 per year depending on where you want to park. Free parking is now limited to 2-3 hour spots).
However, two things to consider are they are adding a few thousand spots this Summer and the new Health education building is closer to a lot of parking areas, so I imagine it will be a lot more manageable to drive if you really want to.

Congrats to all who are getting great news this month! So exciting!

Is this true even if you secure a monthly parking pass?

They usually start making calls late afternoon... I would guess 4-5ish

Here's a neat draft of how parking will look
I park in the orange which is the least expensive. For reference it takes me about 15 minutes of powerwalking to get to the hospital. The new Health Education Building is about 5 minutes closer. As you can see it is conveniently located close to quite a few parking options including the new parking garage (the one with 2,096 spots). Looking at it now, I don't think commuting will be as much of a problem as previous years, but who knows

Got selected for the post-bac program today via phone call!

Thanks - I'm moreso asking if one purchased a monthly permit, is a parking spot guaranteed or is it still a crap shoot? It's probably a question for the parking office, but wondering if you have a personal perspective.

Parking can get bad at certain times but I've never not been able to find a spot (eventually). I've also been told that if your assigned lot is full you can call the parking office and they will grant you temporary permission to park in a different lot. Hope that helps!

Supposedly it'll be sent out after Memorial Day weekend.

Thanks! juggling the end of one career, two trips and a cross country move and my anxiety about something slipping through the cracks is better handled when I have a general idea.
