Any idea on how full the class is at this point in the cycle? I was complete at the beginning of august, and it has been radio silence since then, should I assume a silent R? I reached out the office of admissions expressing my interest and was told that my application was still under revi

Don't count yourself out yet. 🙂 VCOM accepts people throughout all of the spring and even into the early summer as seats free up. I just declined my acceptance, so I hope it gives you opportunity to interview soon!

They told my interview group that we’d here back by the end of the week, but it’s bow been over 2 weeks and I still haven’t gotten an email/phone call. Has this happened to anybody else?

Hey guys, if I’m mailing my deposit out now for the Jan 7 due date, but the office is closed for the holidays, am I still good?

I think you’re good! I sent mine in Monday and I was good to go yesterday.

Same I interviewed early December and still waiting to hear back

I was wondering is all VCOM have a regional bias?

Just wondering what you all think - I was complete 10/9 and haven't heard anything since. My MCAT wasn't that great but I have a lot of medical experience and good grades (non-science 3.88, science 3.75). Waiting to hear back is making me a little crazy at this point! How long are interview invites sent out?

I think a lot of it depends on how “not great” your mcat was

Yeah, it was sub 500. But on a positive note, I worked as a medical assistant for 10 years and as a medical translator/interpreter for 10+ as well. Keeping my fingers crossed but starting to lose hope...

Can any OMS-2 or above who's taken immunology PM me?

II today. interviewing 2/3.
Does interviewing here mean that I would attend campus here? or do we rank at the interview?

That means if you interview at the Carolinas campus, that is the only campus you will be considered at. After your secondary has been matched to a campus, no other campus can consider your application.

Thank you for this clarification!

For those that interviewed here, did you upload your photo in the portal prior to your interview?

It doesn't say anything about it on the email, but it is in the portal. I tried to do it but the system kicked me out overtime so I wanted to double check with y'all

Howdy, y'all. Anyone know how long it took before you received a secondary? I was complete mid November... do I still have a shot?

Withdrew my II here on Monday. Hope it goes to anyone that has this school as top choice. Good luck!

Withdrew my II here just now. Hope it goes to one of you guys! 🙂

Just got an II the other day! Can anyone tell me how the interview day went and how they prepared?

I spoke with Admissions the other day and they said that it is open-file and three 30-minute traditional 1-on-1 interviews

Current first year, if anyone has any questions, ask away.

Also, I saw some chatter about interviewing at one campus but being considered at another campus. I have a few classmates that interviewed at other campuses but was accepted here off the waitlist, if that helps.

Thank you so much for this offer! Could you tell us a bit about yourself? Like stats at time of acceptance and your path through the acceptance process? Ex waitlisted?
Also if there was anything you wish you asked about during your interview? Do you receive any scholarships?

I won’t share specific numbers, because the school truly does look at the whole picture and it would be pointless. I will say, I was not a top applicant in my own view and was worried I wouldn’t get in due to poor stats, but I had a post graduate degree, a good amount of direct clinical hours and a few years in the work force before applying. I was waitlisted then was pulled off the waitlist for the following year. During my time on the waitlist, I made sure to stay active, then updating the school with that info. Being active on the waitlist is something I feel is important and volunteering doesn’t stop, even when you get in. As far as questions, I wish I spent more time getting to know my interviewers during my interviews. The school has some amazing faculty who really care about you which is refreshing. Ask about things that are important to you but take the time to find those out, it will come off more genuine, and they can sniff out cookie cutter questions. Whether it’s about clinical rotations, residency preparation, board study or whatever else.
Lastly, if you don’t get in this cycle, don’t fret, continue to work hard like you did to get here and keep trying. It doesn’t get any easier when you do get in, but you can do it. I was personally worried that I would be scraping by based on my undergrad performance, but I’m doing well, way above what I expected and I am involved in a lot of stuff here. So don’t worry, it will work itself out. *I apologize for the grammar/spelling, I’m working on just an hour of sleep and an small phone. Direct message if you have anything more specific. I will also say, I’ve seen a few post that are defaming but I want to clear up, the school faculty has been amazing and they really try to make our lives better via mental health and accommodations. Dean Cannon has hand delivered pizza to us when school was canceled for a tornado while we were stuck there studying and Dr Fadel is amazing to talk too. Every faculty has open door and Is more than willing to help if you ask and some will even become your friends.
