People say it is 80%, but if you read past publications on their websites they say how many people got accepted and how many they interviewed. The last one is from 2016 though, you just have to look through them. I believe when I made the math from the number they gave on the publications, it was something like 50% chance of getting accepted after the interview. Again, those are "old" publication, so it might be different now.
The is the website for you to look at these publications:

Do you think the Knoxville campus addition would mean a higher acceptance rate?

That would make sense, but it's hard to say for sure. Too many variables.

For the incoming class in 2017, they had 4832 applicants for about 225 spots, so 4-5% of applicants got in and wound up going - but that doesn't say how many were accepted, just how many wound up going. Their incoming class now is 375-395, assuming that they're keeping Knoxville at 125, so if the number of applicants remains the same, that number goes up to 7-8%. But I suspect they've gotten more applicants this year due to the new campus, which would drive the number down again.

If they are interviewing the same number of students that they did pre-Knoxville, the post-interview acceptance rate will go up. If they are interviewing 50% more students to account for the 50% increase in the number of spots, the acceptance rate will stay the same. I don't think anyone is in a good position to say if the interviews going on now are that much larger groups than they were before Knoxville, because anyone who was around then is probably not in Harrogate anymore to see current interviews.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter - knowing the percentage of students that get accepted won't change whether or not you do, so I'd just give it your all if you're applying.

if you've been accepted already, how long did LMU give you to complete all of the castlebranch package from the date you were accepted ? (ie, immunization, drug test, background check)?

Previously they have given students until May to get everything done, unless you were accepted late, and then you have 30-60 days from your acceptance or something like.

I also heard students saying that in past cycles, it used to be around 17/18 students competing for one spot. But again, every year it gets more competitive.

Despite the concerns that have been addressed in the forum, the match list from the past year seems to be quite impressive with a significant amount of matches into more competitive non-primary care specialties. Is this due to students own personal initiative alone, or is the school doing a good job with its students to help them place well?

They’re increasing the class size for next year. I don’t remember exactly how many additional students, maybe like 25%?

Also, only students who put Knox as their top choice will get to interview up here and it’s only a small group because of the limited staff they have to help.

Disclaimer not a student, but from what I hear from students: The school's mission is to graduate doctors that want to serve Appalachia, but if you seek help and do what you need to, a lot of the faculty will help you succeed. If success for you means practicing Derm in California or getting into a competitive residency, and you're willing to put the work into it, they'll help you. They have every reason to help place their residents well - your success is reflective of their own. But, most of your success in medical school is going to be personal initiative. It's not really an either/or - the school is doing something right, but the students are successful because they put the work in. If you want something competitive, you've got to compete. Maybe some medical schools have the prestige and programs to give their graduates a leg up in the competition, and LMU may not have that, but their graduates do place in competitive residencies every year.

Good to know. I found the number on the website - Knoxville will be bumped up to 150. Says Harrogate will be 225, but they've been overenrolling to 240 or so for the last couple of years. Students still have the option to switch preferences for Knoxville/Harrogate after the interview - I wonder if that will play into admissions decisions. I have been hearing mixed messages about interviews in Knoxville - the admissions website says that they weren't going to have any interviews at Knoxville, but clearly they are doing some. I heard from a recent interviewee that they were given the option to tour Knoxville after their interview in Harrogate. You must have interviewed at Harrogate last year, right? Can you share some of the differences between your interview and the ones they host in Knoxville? Do you know how often do they interview in Knoxville, and how many in a group?

I was told that originally they weren’t going to interview up here but our dean really fought for it to happen. I think they’ll try to have separate ones next year but idk for sure. I think the group is only like 11 people, every friday. They’re pretty small groups. And you’re right, everyone can come tour the campus after.

I honestly can’t speak to how they interview in Knoxville, the 2:1 style is the same as harrogate. All of the presentations etc are done up there before the students drive down. I’d say the biggest difference is just the splitting of time. We even have student ambassadors now who give the tours. 🙂

Received this email yesterday and it has me feeling a little anxious. Has anyone else gotten this email before or know if something happened to cause a delay in decisions?

No reason for concern, probably has nothing to do with you in particular. The committee meets on Wednesday, so they probably either couldn't meet yesterday, couldn't meet as long as usual, or didn't get through all of the decisions. They send out the emails to alleviate anxiety - they don't want students thinking, 'They said I would hear on Friday or Monday and I haven't heard! Why haven't I heard!'

Thank you!!! This makes me feel much better!

Does this school notify if we didnt receive interview??
Not sure, but I don't think so. If you don't get invited for an interview, they'll probably send a rejection letter eventually. But again, I hope that's not the case. Hopefully, you'll get invited soon.

I hope we both get it soon. Hope you get it before me. I'm also waiting on couple schools more than months or so. It kills to wait tbh.

Is this school more holistic review??

They have sent rejection letters pre-interview, but it's rare. I would think there would need to be some major red flags with your application. They seem to be pretty holistic - big into applicants with strong ties to Appalachia, and definitely willing to admit nontraditionals with some experience, and applicants with low MCAT scores. But I guess it depends on what you mean by holistic.

I believe that in terms of GPA and MCAT, one usually balances the other. For example, a "low" MCAT but a very high GPA with greats extra curriculum activities should get you an interview, or vise versa.

The MCAT is really good. I think if you have very good extracurricular activities and community involvement you would have a chance to get an interview.
I'm starting to feel like I screwed up something else, or that my sgpa is getting me screened hard. I have lots of research, scribe experience, have been working with the homeless for awhile, etc...

But it's okay-- head held high with high hopes 🙂

I hope you have better luck than me, but I was "under review" since 8/14/2019 and haven't heard since.

Same issue, 3.19 sGPA 3.4 cGPA and 499 with great ECs and currently working as an ER tech and nothing, starting to get worried

What were you stats if you don’t mind me asking? I’m waiting to hear back and getting nervous.
3.63cGPA 3.61sGPA Sub-500 MCAT with 2000+ hours working as medical assistant and extensive amount of research including top 5 ortho journal publication.

I received a II for Knoxville yesterday as well. Glad to see a couple of us are hearing something back! Have you scheduled your day yet? Its looking like 11/8 for me.
I'm hoping for 11/1. Calling tomorrow morning to set it up.

Update: 11/1 was full, so I scheduled for 11/8.

When were you complete?

Was just put on hold. surprised because this is my undershoot school. 3.57 cGPA, above a 3.6 sGPA and 502 MCAT. Lots of ECs and volunteering. maybe it's because i'm from a larger city but i did attend school in NC.
