"Your application has been reviewed by the admissions committee, and we are still considering you for a possible interview. Your file will be periodically compared to other applications for competitiveness. If you are selected for an interview, we will contact you by email. We started interviewing in August and expect to continue interviewing through early April."

I thought I had a strong application but fingers crossed.

For those of you who received the email below, have you received any follow up emails?

"Your application has been reviewed by the admissions committee, and we are still considering you for a possible interview. Your file will be periodically compared to other applications for competitiveness. If you are selected for an interview, we will contact you by email."

I just got that email also. I guess our apps are on hold. no follow-up emails.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised because I've gotten interviews from my reach schools but maybe it's something specific they're looking for. I am oos and a URM but lack experience in rural areas. I have maybe a few but not plenty.
 
Seems to be alot of movement in the last couple of days. So far, I have received neither an II or a pre-II waitlist email (completed Sept 5th), so now begins the incessant refreshing of my email. I was holding off as long as I could, but I now have multiple schools at the 5 week mark after secondary completion. LMU-DCOM is my sentimental choice so here is hoping for some good news soon.

Got that email too . Little disappointed since I was interviewed and waitlisted last cycle
 
Those who received the 'hold' email, could you please share with us the date you submitted your secondary application? I submitted mine on Sep 16th but I haven't received any email from them other than the "your app is complete" one.

Am I the only one that got that email and didn't immediately consider it a 'hold'? Maybe because they didn't explicitly use that word... I dunno.

I mean, what really IS a hold besides "you're not in the first waves of interviews"... All schools that haven't issued you a rejection are still periodically comparing your app, some just aren't sending out emails about it and making everyone feel sad & speculative.
(Yes I am aware that at some schools it really is a soft rejection but plenty of schools do pull from the waitlist once they run out of high stats or super mission fitting candidates)

I dunno, just my thought process here. Try not to let it get you down!
 
Holy cow at these pre-II waitlist stats. My confidence is not as high as it was yesterday. I hope being a veteran counts for something.

Personally I would say it’s better not to receive them . Pretty much a soft rejection imo. From my experience and based on what I’ve seen on pre interview holds... it doesn’t hold much weight especially if you don’t have any significant updates to give them.
 
I also got the pre-II hold e-mail. Complete 8/26. 501, 3.48 sGPA, 3.49 cGPA
 
I feel like hold is better than nothing at all. Everyone on hold now has higher stats than me and I was complete 8/21, so probably getting the silent rejection.

Complete email 9/23. LizzyM~61. Tons of EC. Thought I got rejected since they got back to me fairly fast and then was relieved to see that it wasn't. Now freaking out because other people are freaking out about this being a soft R. What a roller coaster of emotions haha.

Now I'm worried as I submitted around the same time as yours and haven't received a 'hold' email from them. Not sure if not receiving that email means rejection. I'm a Canadian applicant as well so there is a chance that they don't even look at my application 🙂)

Can I ask what your stats were? I haven’t heard anything and I’m getting nervous.
 
So based on the this forum, the school sent some interview invites yesterday and hold emails today. Does it mean that it will send rejections tomorrow??? lol

I was complete 9/24 and nothing yet smh. So idk if its rejection or what lol. My stats are not high as far as the mcat goes

I agree. Be positive. They might've pushed our apps back maybe for later revision. You never know. There can be chances if your gpa is high and ECs

Have you guys sent an update to the school? If yes, did you email admissions office?
 
Good news for the pre-II hold peeps. I snooped around on last year's thread and found some people getting the same e-mails as us but getting interview invites 2-4 weeks later. Granted, not as many people posted about their pre-II hold, but at least this is something to be optimistic about!

Hey guys, The admissions committee is trying to alleviate stress by keeping you informed and you all are doing the opposite of what the emails were intended to do.Trust the process and trust your stats. Time will tell so dont worry too much about the emails and who got accepted/rejected. If it's your time you you will get accepted. Believe in yourself! I believe in you!

I received the same email yesterday, but within the past 24 hours I received a second email with an II. So stay positive!
