Lol I was complete 7/10 and haven't heard anything so starting to get worried...
Hey Kirby, not sure if you are the same person i see in some other threads. But it might be best to take a break from sdn for awhile. Please dont take that the wrong way. Take it from a re-applicant. The BEST way to use SDN is to start looking at a thread ONCE you get a II. Take it from me, it hurts ALOT to see other people get II and not yourself. NSU literally interviewed people until MAY last year. It is August 14th. The cycle is another full year. Take it from me, at this rate you will literally go insane. Best thing you can do is log off for a few days at the least. Please!! This is coming from a place of caring -- nothing negative.

Also new drinking game. Take a shot everytime I say "take it from me."

Lol I appreciate the good intention! I'm honestly not that worried in general yet. I just spend time on sdn to procrastinate from secondaries lol not cause I'm super anxious, that'll come in like October probably lol.

I just thought it was interesting that I was complete so early here and have above average stats and seemingly got passed over on the first couple waves, but nbd! I guess there's sometimes no rhyme or reason for things like that.

No, no of course I am sure you aren't going crazy yet! It is just important to remember that DO schools are VERY mission driven. Just because your stats are above average, does not guarantee anything. But like you said the med school process is completely unpredictable. Theres a good chance no one has read your app yet!!

Any current student mind sharing why they like this school? Or why not? What do you think of the curriculum? Do you feel well prepared for board exams? Rotations? How are the rotation sites? Do they require a lot of traveling? What do you wish you knew getting in?

I interviewed here on Tuesday. Curriculum is changing this year to be more board focused and systems based. In the past systems based started second year, now is starting after the first semester. The administration and students must have said the words board scores like 10,000 times. It is on their radar and they are doing everything they can to help students do better. Rotation sites are AWESOME. Broward, miami dade, tampa etc. Flordia healthy system is incredible.

As far as pros to this school go. I have been to a few interviews at MD (i am a re-app). It was by far the best interview day I had experienced. So many opportunities to ask every single question you would ever desired. Everyone there is so incredibly supportive and awesome from the students to the faculty etc. I am not JUST saying this. I really had a great time. And it seems like they are making all the right changes.

Thanks for your answer, it’s very informative. I’m interviewing on 9/10 and want to make sure I can elaborate on my interest in attending this school

What did you think of the interview portion and what do they mean by “Practical Experience”?

Hey guys and girls. I got no less than 20 dms about interview day. I’m currently on vacation and can’t get to all of them. But good luck and you will all kill it. It’s very conversational just know your story and how it fits into NSU mission.

I had a 500 this year and interviewing Tuesday for this school! I also have 5 interview invites so far and two acceptances. You will do great! 🙂

So 3 weeks ago I received a call saying my application was incomplete due to a missing letter from a physician. I called them and they found out it's because I had 2 separate applications and the person I was talking to said they'll combine it so that everything is together and complete. Last week, I got a call and they said I was still missing the letter, I told them what happened before and they said now it really is combined, so they do have everything they need. Should I be worried that this delayed my application so much?

Anyone who has interviewed, how is it??? Do you know if were interviewing to get accepted first and then we choose our location? How likely is it to get in after the interview ?

It was awesome, they’re all very friendly and welcoming. Just know your application and why you’d be a good fit! They assign you a campus with your acceptance based on your preference on the primary and their availability

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay for the interview? TIA 🙂

Stayed at the renaissance and it was great. They have an interview rate if you say that you’re interviewing at NSU.

Lol I was complete 7/10 and haven't heard anything so starting to get worried...
I have also not heard anything from them so at this point I am just looking at re-applying next year as they are probably looking at apps that have been complete after me and probably you as well... idk honestly.

Anyone else interview with someone on Skype? What did you all think? I personally thought it made for a more relaxed, disarming environment.

Y’all gotta chill it’s AUGUST. They interview through MAY
CORRECTION!!!!!!!!!!! It is the END of AUGUST! Last interview invites they send out will be in the next 3-4 months. There is a DIFFERENCE! And for all you that got interviews thats awesome, but please give some advice on tips and tricks you all would like to tell us for future hopeful potential interviewees!

I agree with @Talldoctor96 . They will continue sending out interview invites and are only getting started. The "tips/tricks" are to apply as soon as you can, and make sure all of your transcripts, MCAT scores, LORs, etc. are submitted and made available to the schools. After that, it's out of your hands. I myself was not complete until Monday so I'm likely in your same situation. Only 21 people on this thread have received invites already. There's plenty of time. Don't drive yourself crazy.

They also have their new Tampa campus and will be accepting 400 students this year which is a large increase. I interviewed this week and we had 28 people there. There are two sessions a week.

Dude or dudet you are straight up just wrong bro/ bromiga. In last year’s thread they sent interview invites out in May. Which by my math is 8 months away.

Also not to mention for all y’all MD/DO Applicants the DO and MD cycle are DIFFERENT. Most primary deadlines for md are November and for DO they are February or March. The DO cycle is slower. It’s still early boarderimg on time for MD. It’s literally SUPER EARLY for DO.

Can i just copy and paste the descriptions from my primary for the "list your health-care activity and describe them" question on the secondary?

I personally wouldn’t do that. They’re just looking for a few sentences and it’s a good rule to never copy from your primary. They wouldn’t ask if they could just look at your primary!!

Honestly, that’s what I did and I got an II so it can’t be thaat bad.. I did edit the descriptions a bit, but I’d say 85% was the same as on my primary. I mean, how many descriptions can there be of one job without fluffing it to be something it’s not? And if you’re like me, you spent some time making sure your descriptions were on point with great grammar and not too much passive language.

Yes we are saying essentially the same thing. I personally would not copy and paste it 100 percent but I’m not saying to write something completely new. Just try and summarize it in a sentence or two instead of the 6 or 7 in your aacomas app. Short and sweet— not anything new. Also — congrats on the II! And I mean this is not a mean way— but getting a II does not mean an acceptance and the full admissions committee will read your file again when voting on you vs one or two people for II

I agree. I read the emails stating the same that II does not mean acceptance and I also already knew that as well; however, an II is still pretty significant. Also, no need to get all up tight. I honestly did not even see your response before I sent in mine because it didn’t update on my app soo deep breaths everybody.

Definitely not uptight 🙂 sorry if it came across that way. If you heard how I said it in my head it was nice I swear. II is an incredible accomplishment we’re gonna be doctors!!!! Happy for everyone.

I, for one, do not see how Tall's response came out uptight.
