Hi friends on the waitlist. Unfortunately there will (probably) not be any waitlist movement because we just got an email about the option to defer admission (with some incentives) and everyone is freaking out. Basically, there's still ~150 in the GroupMe and they cannot accommodate us all. Wishing you all the best of luck!

Absolutely wild, I saw the email now because my SO is in the class, I wonder what they’re going to do if no one wants to defer

They will continue to up the incentives until enough people defer. (Unless people band together and agree not to defer unless it's something crazy like full ride scholarship. Then they'll probably revoke acceptances.) Missing a year of attending salary is what? $250k minimum?

Curious to hear what the current incentives are to defer...

I'll post what they are:

You think they will actually REVOKE acceptances? There is no way their reputation will recover if they do such a thing.

Well they can't have a class size of 150 either. Time to start negotiating with the admissions office for payment in BTC to defer/withdraw. I kid....

Have the upper the incentives at all? Just curious
No and it doesn’t really seem like they will. Here is the most recent email they sent:

“Good afternoon Class of 2025,
We have received numerous anxious emails and calls regarding the deferral email that was sent on Friday. We want to reassure you that you should be not stressed out or worried. We are working diligently on our end and we will manage the process. We will not be rescinding any acceptances. As of right now, we are only providing options in case students are interested in deferring. If you have reached out to our office regarding questions about a deferral option, we are working thru the emails and will respond by this afternoon.”

Is anyone familiar with the Graduate Certificate Program? Thinking of applying because of the guaranteed admission from the waitlist, but not sure if that 3.7 is as attainable as they make it seem. If anyone knows someone who has been in the program or is in it currently I would really appreciate your insight!

There's literally like 3-6 (if not more) people who are in my class who seem to have come from the GCE (all from quite prestigious programs (Harvard, Penn undergrad and some from FIU). Seems like odds are high.
