noDid you get to pick your interview date?
noDid you get to pick your interview date?
It's not that late for FSU's cycle. I doubt you are interviewing for a WL spot but even if you are its worth a shot if you like the schoolI have an interview on March 12th ---Found out on Jan 21st. It doesn't guarantee acceptance. What if I am interviewing for a waitlist spot? March 12th is late in the cycle.
If you don't want it, I will gladly take it..I have an interview on March 12th ---Found out on Jan 21st. It doesn't guarantee acceptance. What if I am interviewing for a waitlist spot? March 12th is late in the cycle.

Do you also feel like the community is diverse as well. My advisor had shared that FAMU is nearby as well. Do you all get to interact with the undergrad or grad students in the area either in academic or non-academic settings?Like is it ethnically and racially diverse?
My class is pretty diverse. No one would feel out of place at FSU.
is it collaborative or really competitive?
The environment is not competitive AT ALL. We are all willing to help each other. And although probably there is always a gunner, I haven't met him/her yet.
Are people friendly in general?
Yes. I never had a bad experience with anyone since I started last year.
Is there a mix of political views or are people mostly liberal or mostly conservative?
From what I can tell most people are liberal, but there are conservatives too of course. No one really talks about politics (at school).
Are they older student friendly?
They are older student friendly. I think the oldest person in my class is 36. I'm in my late 20s and there are quite a few students around my age.
Are faculty accessible and supportive?
Yes and yes.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
This is just my experience....so take it for what it's worth, but odds are that outside of a few days post-exams and a few sporadic breaks, you're going to have so little free time that this probably won't be much of a concern.Do you also feel like the community is diverse as well. Otherwise, what do people do in the area for fun/are there a lot of things that people can do activity wise to meet people in other disciplines outside the COM or FSU?
(hope those make sense!)
stats pleaseII just now! Complete 7/19!
stats please
To my knowledge, it’s just a delayed email. Like somebody earlier in the year said they got payment confirmation and II on the same day. Like i doubt they verified someone that quckHello I’m new to this thread! I’m quite confused, I applied to FSU in July 2020 and JUST now got a notification that my application is complete this afternoon. Anyone have any input on why this is?
I’ve been accepted/ interviewed at other schools, just not quite sure why it took 6 months for an application complete notification to be sent from FSU. Has this happened to anyone else?

You’re honestly an angelHi all! I’m a second year student at FSU CoM.
Wanted to reach out to let you all know that there were numerous people in my class that got in and interviewed in April and received acceptances up to the weeks before classes started in May. Don’t give up hope! It is only February... there is still time! When I interviewed in 2019, there were plenty of comments on SDN saying anyone interviewing when I was was “interviewing for the waitlist”. Not a great thing to have floating around in my mind heading into my interview day at FSU. But just wanted to let you all know that that was not true then, and I am certain the same will hold true this year as well.
Feel free to reach out with questions, and I will try to answer. Stay strong, consider submitting a letter of interest or expressing interest some other way to FSU, and focus on why FSU/what makes you a good fit. Fingers crossed for you all!
Stats are less relevant for FSU. They are more concerned about mission and fit.Hi All. Anyone has an idea what is the average MCAT and GPA for getting an interview at FSU?
Best for all of you.
Thanks, how you define mission and fit?Stats are less relevant for FSU. They are more concerned about mission and fit.
If someone aligns with their mission and fits their goals. Primary care, rural /panhandlecare, and geriatric care. Thanks, how you define mission and fit?
I know people who have gotten off of the waitlist. I am not sure of how long they were on it before receiving an acceptance. I strongly recommend that if FSU is your first choice school and you plan to attend if receiving an acceptance to submit a letter of intent. You could potentially submit this after interviewing or being put on the waitlist. It's also another way to remind the admissions team that you're still there and shows true commitment.Do you know of people who got off the waitlist or is this pretty uncommon? Thanks!!
Thanks, how you define mission and fit?

I was a UF gymnast majored in applied physiology and minored in chemistry 3.76GPA then went to perform with Cirque du Soleil for 2+ years in Europe and South America and did a medical microbiology masters program through UF while touring. 3.86GPA .. Volunteer-- diabetes camp for children, HOPE's lodge for cancer patients, Balance 180 adaptive gymnastic for special needs. Shadow 3 MD's (dermatology, anesthesiology, pain management) and 1 DO family practice. Going on a medical mission trip to Costa Rica this May. Started a gluten free/grain free pastry business during Covid. MCAT is the downfall 500. Have test anxiety so feel redo not going to make a change. No interview invite.... is it over. I feel I'm holistic... also had two achilles ruptures, and back injury with surgery but rock climb now. Wish that FSU and UF would interview me. What do you think?Hi all! I know you’re not asking for my opinion but I think you sound like an absolutely incredible human being. I hope and believe that a school you love sees that in you as well! 🙂I was a UF gymnast majored in applied physiology and minored in chemistry 3.76GPA then went to perform with Cirque du Soleil for 2+ years in Europe and South America and did a medical microbiology masters program through UF while touring. 3.86GPA .. a quick google search will tell you that admission to the regular M.D. program requires a minimum MCAT score of 498, and an uGPA of 3.3 (unless you have a post bacc or masters to override undergrad GPA)do they screen pre or post secondary? sorry if discussed already..... also how holistic are they? low scores but 5 pubs / lots of research and clinical exp..... and outstanding LORs (4 from MDs, one being academic director of master's program...) oos
