post-bacc 500 MCAT. I'm also Indian....
Yesterday during the info session they stated that the time period you received your secondary has a factor into whether you were considered competitive by the committee. Like if you received secondary in Sept you were at the top of the top, October top 1/3, and continuing on. Were any of you guys aware of this? I guess it's common sense but I think I never really thought about that in regards to secondaries. Makes me feel like Meharry really puts in time to consider the secondaries unlike many other med schools
Sooo what about november? Thats when I received mine. And since they said they still gonna send out secondaries , will the one who receive them after january will hardly be considered?

Oh my. I submitted in July and still have not received a secondary. My app is very mission fit, but I didn’t realize I was that uncompetitive. Thats discouraging.
Hey, it’s okay! I got a secondary from Meharry last year—but didn’t this year. Yet, I have had interview invites from other schools. Not getting a secondary from them doesn’t mean you don’t have a stellar app and other schools won’t be interested in you! It’s incredibly grueling and anxiety inducing but I’m confident we’ll be celebrating at the end. I pray for favor over your application! Best of luck

Thank you for the encouragement! 🥹 This process is very humbling, but you’re sooo right! Praying our II’s turn into A’s soon. Good luck, future doc.

Did you get an interview from them last year?

Interview over. Kinda wierd, 15 min overall. Asked 1 hypothetical question, then questions I had. And that's it. Apparently, there's another traditional, in-depth interview later.
Do you mind if I dm you to ask you a couple of questions?

So they send secondaries to noncompetitive people despite the pre-screen?

Hmmmmm….with a 50% secondary rate, this also seems a little money grabby as well. Not shaming them specifically, I’ve realized that’s the game with this entire process but to admit that they pre-screen secondaries but send them out to non competitive applicants is interesting. Good to know!

I swear this process is not a poor man’s game. Not an old folk’s game

Hoping for positive news for all! All of these updates are eating me up.

Praying for positive news for all of us, too. This process is just demoralizing lol. Taking the MCAT, getting the LORs, checking your essays 10x, submitting, and then…silence for months. You don’t know where you stand, what they’re going, and you see people say they got a II, an A, or even a R. And it’s just like “when’s it my turn?” Listen yall, im a believer that God can do anything. Even if you are a “noncompetitive applicant” you don’t know what He can do! There’s something special about each of us and we have our own strengths. Keep y’all head up. Med school will always be there and we can always keep improving our application IF we don’t get in this cycle. Something getting off here and Reddit helps too xoxo. Good luck 🙂

Nothing is over until it's over! There is still time. God knows best fr fr, gotta stay vigilant and have hope

Anyone get a email about student interview? I’m confused on what this is. And they don’t have a number I can reach and speak to someone

For my MMI they only asked me one question?? I’m going to assume that means I’m DOA until further notice lmao
Same. Only one question. The whole thing lasted 6 mins for me. Then I get to ask him a question, which extended the interview to 10 minutes total.

Did you receive email they just sent out regarding student interview, since we got our II and did the MMI but same day?

Meharry please stop emailing me unless it’s for a II or a R dawg my heart can’t take this no more.

They got another financial aid zoom session for tomorrow, 1/31. Please don’t attend if you been on before and don’t share the password.
I never get these emails
