Okay but the tuition is 55,000, which is in line with other private schools, even less, and out of state tuition for a lot of state schools is more than that.
So much of this number is cost of living just because Nashville is expensive, anyone who goes to medical school in a bigger city is going to have to grapple with a ridiculous cost of living. They're budgeting almost 25,000 for room and board, 5000 for transportation, 3000 for personal, etc. I currently work a full-time job, and my take-home pay after taxes is about the amount they budget for room and board. I live in a smaller city though, so I live really well, am able to travel and take vacations, AND I still save some at the end of the month. In a big city, I'm sure it would barely be enough to get by.
