Is there an opportunity to switch to no campus choice preference at the interview if we put a preference for one campus in the primary?

I was able to switch my campus preference via email after the interview but I had a pretty solid reason. I would imagine that you could ask to switch if you have a good reason, but if you’re just stating that you have no preference I don’t know if they would go for that.

Second year at KCU-KC campus here. Happy to answer any questions about the school.

How do 2nd year students go about pursuing specialty specific research? Is it common or doable to start research with physicians during 2nd year? And do y’all go to lake of the ozarks often

I'll let you know when I figure it out myself lmao. Honestly, don't go to KCU (or most DO schools tbh) expecting to have an easy time finding research. There are limited opportunities on campus to do basic science research, but that's about it. I think most people who do research got lucky with some connection at an outside institution.

Aside from case reports, it's very difficult to do that 2nd year and even 3rd year, even at an MD school. The best time to get involved is before med school starts or during the summer between 1st and 2nd year. And yes people go to lake of the ozarks often

I would say if you want it you can find it, even if it means cold emailing people.

Super nervous about the interview tomorrow, how stressed should I be? I’ve prepared some answers for the basic questions, but have no idea what else to do

It’s very straight forward so just be yourself than be rehearsed

Not sure if my comment got lost in the shuffle. Is there an accepted students group me/ Facebook page?

You shouldn’t be stressed at all. Put your best foot forward and try to get a feel for the school and whether it will be a good fit for you. I promise that if you got an interview you are a qualified applicant. Good luck!

Should I be worried if I haven’t gotten an interview yet. I submitted my secondary
8/8 and I got all my stuff verified besides the interview and pre-req courses of course. GPA 3.3 MCAT 502, 2k clinical experience, 120 hours of shadowing, and leadership and research experience as well

No. Your app is similar to some in my class (2026). If you had good essays I'd be surprised if you didn't get one eventually. They're nowhere close to being done sending out interviews. I got mine in November.

Oh wow when did you end up submitting your app?

Haven’t heard anything for almost 4 weeks now. Do I dare email or wait out the 2 more weeks?

How have your first few weeks been?
KCU starts very early compared to other schools, we started in the latter half of July. But it's good 3rd exam next week already.
I do have to admit, KCU for the first 2 exams give you a retake. When I was interviewing no other schools did that. It's a nice experience, and almost a "soft start" since it isn't a lot of pressure if you screw up, you get a second chance.
Overall I don't really have any complaints with going here. Some of the scheduling for classes is weird like tomorrow we have a mandatory in person class then right afterwards a zoom only class. It's a minor thing to complain about tbh

I have a Complete Action Item: Accept Deposit in my Worday portal. I haven't gotten an email or anything yet saying I have an acceptance. I don't know if I should be excited yet, but I'm feeling excited. Is it an Acceptance?

congrats!!! Same here and don’t know what to make of it

congrats!!! when was your interview
My interview was 8/22. I'm not sure if its an acceptance or not. Do they have deposits for waitlisted people? I'm so excited but want to make sure Its real before I freak out and get excited since I don't also have an acceptance email.

I didn't get one and I was waitlisted. I think that means you got in!
