rejected today but appreciate this level of transparency - good luck to everyone interviewing!Hello Everyone - we have finalized our review period for this cycle and individuals not chosen to move forward to interview will receive an email today confirming this status. For those who completed secondaries and have access to our application portal, the portal has also reflected this change by posting the status of "DECISION." (The portal will also be closing down within 24 hours for those not moving forward to interview.) If you are an applicant scheduled to interview in February or who has completed their interview, you are still active with our school at this time. As always if we can answer any questions, please email [email protected]
February is standard interviews for admit consideration (we do rolling admissions). Committee finishes all initial offers for the 66 seats by early April. At that time applicants who interviewed and are not admitted will either be rejected or will receive an offer to be on alternate list. We see significant alternate list movement in May. We close our cohort June 1st. At that time those on alternate list who are not admitted receive their rejections. Are the interviews in February for alternate list positions or is there still a chance to be accepted right off the bat?

When you admit monthly, do you have a preference for in-state students and wait to admit out of state students near the end/february?Hello Everyone - we have finalized our review period for this cycle and individuals not chosen to move forward to interview will receive an email today confirming this status. I was wondering that toodoes anyone know if the 1:1 interview is open file or closed file ?
UNLV does rolling admissions. All interviewed candidates stay active with the committee until the class is seated, so there is not set timeframe for notification. By early April those not admitted into the original seats are either notified for rejection or offered an opportunity to be on alternate list.Okay this is very helpful thank you! What’s the normal turn around time from interviews? One month? Or is it just based on the processing of applications
The committee admits those they deem a competitive fit for our school across many factors. They don't have an approach to specifically separate out residency status for decision making timing. They're continuously reviewing the pool and considering seats until all interviewed candidates are seen. When you admit monthly, do you have a preference for in-state students and wait to admit out of state students near the end/february?
For interviews (asynch and 1:1) our reviewers/interviewers are given the candidate's AMCAS personal statement, AMCAS impactful statement (if supplied), AMCAS experiences, UNLV secondary essays, and headshot photo (supplied to UNLV in the secondary for verification/ID of the candidate). Because interviewing is a qualitative component in holistic review, no quantitative data is shared.does anyone know if the 1:1 interview is open file or closed file ?
Is everyone on an equal playing field as soon as they are invited for an interview or is an interview just one part of the holistic process? Also are the asynchronous and synchronous portions of the interview weighed equally? The committee admits those they deem a competitive fit for our school across many factors. Probably next Friday based on the last 2 years' threadsWe think calls are going to be made today? or will it most likely be next Friday?
The email I got after my interview said they look at applications as close to their interview month as possible, so it could happen but it probably depends on how many they still have to review from past months! Will those who interviewed in early February be looked at during this month's meeting or will they most likely be looked at during future meetings?
That’s the guess, based on the last 2 years of threadsWill calls be made this Friday?
Around 1 from what I have heardWhat time do they normally call?
It is part of the process/holistic application. Both interviews are equally as important. Is everyone on an equal playing field as soon as they are invited for an interview or is an interview just one part of the holistic process? Also are the asynchronous and synchronous portions of the interview weighed equally?
They typically are future meetings. Will those who interviewed in early February be looked at during this month's meeting or will they most likely be looked at during future meetings?
It varies based upon the availability of the Assistant Dean. What time do they normally call?
Would those who interviewed mid/late January have made it to this month’s meeting? They typically are future meetings.
Congrats! When did you interview?IS A. Call and notification on portal.
Thanks! Interviewed early January.Congrats! When did you interview?
A portion of January interviewees did go to the meeting but there was a backlog from December due to the cancellation of an interview week because of the shooting tragedy on main campus. Those individuals had to participate in make up dates in the new year.Would those who interviewed mid/late January have made it to this month’s meeting?
Thank you so much for the continued transparency! Hello and happy Sunday! Piggy backing off what @razzledazzle12 asked, is it safe to assume that due to the higher volume of interviewees in January, that not all were fully evaluated during the February committee meeting, and that the remainders will be assessed during the March review? Thank you 😁A portion of January interviewees did go to the meeting but there was a backlog from December due to the cancellation of an interview week because of the shooting tragedy on main campus.
