Is taking my CASPER for ARCOM in late September too late? Really hoping to hear back from them. Really only taking it for the sake of this school.

They should be sending out a batch of acceptances on Monday or Tuesday next week, that’s what the admissions office said if it’s been 2 or more weeks!
 
Anyone knows how much discount do you get staying at the hotels suggested by ARCOM?

you need to call each hotel and see what they give you. when i interviewed, i just called around and then booked the cheapest hotel

no, they will either call you with the A or email you telling you you’ve been waitlisted or rejected. they won’t just ghost you
 
interviewed 08/13 and just got the acceptance call too!!! congrats to everyone else who got the A today :)

Update: They do in fact send acceptances in batches and waves independent of when you took the interview. Accepted 8/26/2024, interviewed 8/09/24.

I’d almostttttt prefer an outright rejection than a “hey! You are considered a last option if we absolutely cannot find anyone else by the end of the cycle” email 💀, but alas I want to be a doctor so I will take the insult and not withdraw my app bc beggars cannot be choosers lmao

are these rejections after interviewing or after submitting secondaries?? just trying to get a timeline!
 
Will opting for a virtual interview vs in-person affect my acceptance chances at all? I live on the East coast and don't want to particularly pay for $600 flight and a hotel.

I’m in the same boat. Ultimately decided on an in person interview because the virtual interviews don’t start until feb!

Virtual interviews from my understanding will lower your acceptances rates by alot because you'll be interviewing near jan-feb-march, by then most of the seats have been filled and you'll be most likely interviewing for waitlist or more competitive seats -- that is atleast my understanding as admissions are rolling, with chances decreasing with length of time. I lived in CA and I paid $1200 for my hotel and flight and I got in so, just my 2 cents.
 
i 100% recommend coming to see ARCOM for yourself. you will truly be welcomed by the students, staff, and faculty
 
for those who got a “soft r” don’t freak out if arcom is truly one of your top picks… if you’re really passionate about arcom, i’d suggest a letter of interest in a little bit but also i have a couple friends in my class that also got a “soft r” and then got an interview later on. it’s still early for the arcom cycle :)

Love to hear that man. Earlier above I noted that I did not have my CASPER exam completed. This should come back in 2-3 weeks. Do you think if I sent a gentle message requesting this to be added to my application for review after the results release it could help me express my interest to them? I have ARCOM in my top 3 schools for my family so I would really like to hear from them.

i would wait a little bit, just to not overwhelm them. you don’t wanna come on too strong lol. i would recommend waiting to get your CASPER score and in the meantime keep volunteering and getting those clinical hours!

i have seen people post that they got their II 2-3 days after submitting the secondary. it most likely is taking time because of the labor day weekend

same here submitted mine on Thursday but have not heard anything back yet...keep me updated if u hear anything back pls
 
it was white coat weekend and labor day so they’re probably just a tad behind!
