2024-2025 Boston University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
probabl being blind again but did you find that short online form that they are talking about in the financial aid page for the donor stipends? I did a quick look through the tabs and might've just missed it
I had to go hunt for it; it wasn't immediately apparent to me.

If you go to the portal, click on Financial Aid (left-hand, near the bottom), click on 'Continue to Managed Section' something something, it's along the top (green) menu bar. 'Scholarship Survey' or something similar.

Takes about 2 min to fill out, but approximately 4x longer to find

i have seen this repeated on threads pretty often but did the dean say this herself? i went through old threads and it seems like a lot less As are reported in March / most people who get deferred get WLed
I mean even the deferral email said that only a portion of the class is filled in December. Pretty sure the dean also said a majority of acceptances are made in march. Not everyone posts their final result on sdn so I’d definitely go with what the admissions office is saying over this

anyone else not seeing the Open House RSVP in the alerts tab for the upcoming open houses?

Does anyone know if BU offers funds to travel for the accepted student days?

Hey guys how bad is it that I forgot to sign up for the panel meetings 🙁 I’ve signed up now but interview was yesterday

So I’ve read that many applicants get deferred in December, with the majority of the class made up of those accepted in March. But SDN posts and cycletrack data seem to suggest more acceptances happen in December, while March decisions often end up as waitlists.

Anyone have insights or information about this?

self-reporting bias
more people track in aug-dec than in jan-may because they've burned out and care less

I can totally see that but I noticed a decent number of ppl still reported but there seems to be fewer acceptances in Mar than people say so it got me a bit worried.

hey guys! hope this isn’t super repetitive - i’ve been reading all the messages on this thread as they come in but i’ve probably forgotten some. i interviewed here at the beginning of the month and this is my dream school. do they accept/is it worth it to send a letter of intent? i live in boston and work somewhere affiliated with the med school so i love their mission. just looking for some advice 🙂

hii i'm wondering if there are any current BUSM students here that could answer a couple of questions about living in boston/curriculum/etc?

If you go to their portal, it gives you different options for what type of letter you are uploading under "Application Updates," and LOI is one of the options. I don't think it would hurt your chances to upload a letter, but I also don't know how much of a true difference it would make. I would advise to make sure you show true connection to BUSOM mission and how your time in Boston has informed your decision. - good luck!

For anyone who has interviewed here, how was the interview? Did they focus more on asking questions about your primary/AMCAS experiences or secondary app (why BU, interests, etc)? Just trying to get a sense of if its more conversational or if they focus more on what you wrote!

Very, very conversational (in my experience). I was asked... maybe 3 questions the whole hour.

We talked about severance the majority of the time lol very conversational.

I'll second this, super conversational and probably the most relaxed interview of the cycle so far. We talked more about what medicine looks like in a society with huge wealth disparities and about cool research we'd both read or carried out recently (I'm a career changer w/a PhD) and I left feeling like I had just made a new friend at a conference.

Did any of you receive more info about the Accepted Student Visit Day? I only got the tentative schedule at the beginning of January, and nothing since then

For those waiting for decisions, have you submitted your CSS profile?
