2024-2025 Brown (Alpert)

I know they said we should be hearing back the 17th but just realizing now that that’s a holiday. Is that going to mess with the decisions?

I feel like President’s day only affects government jobs but i could be wrong

Has there been any pattern in the time decisions have been released thus far or is any hour fair game tomorrow?

Waitlist +1 didn’t say anything about high priority so I’m assuming just a regular WL ie R

Waitlisted today. Does anyone have any idea how common it is to be pulled off the waitlist at Brown?

Brown apparently initially accepts [emoji[emoji[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]]% of non-PLME applicants, and then accepts an additional [emoji[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]]][emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6]]]% off the WL. Thus, still have a very good chance!

Apparently someone I interviewed on the same day with was told by their current student interviewer that there is a “high waitlist” status as opposed to the regular waitlist, which is a soft rejection? I don’t see any mention of high waitlist in Brown’s waitlist email. Anyone know if there’s any truth to this or if this was just a past year thing?

The waitlist is notoriously hard to predict, and it is not ranked. We will be continuously reviewing all candidates (admitted and waitlisted) throughout this process, and we will not forget about you as we continue to assess where we are with the MD Class of 2029.”

In reality, all waitlists are ranked because there has to be an order at which to move down them and send offers but basically Brown doesn’t tell us if we’re high priority or not. At least that’s my understanding.

yeah I had heard something similar, but obviously can't find any mention or record of it so im sure they have some sort of internal rank/priority and that's where they draw from

I just noticed on Brown’s website that they say “Scores from tests taken within the three-year period prior to matriculation are acceptable. For example, applicants to the 2025 first-year entering class must present MCAT scores dated from January 1, 2022 onward.” It’s interesting that it includes “three years” and also “January 2022” when the cycle opened June 2024 (shouldn’t the date therefore be June 2021 earliest MCAT??). If the application cycle for 25-26 opens in June 2025 and I plan on reapplying (currently waitlisted), I’m probably cooked if I took the MCAT august 2022, right? I’d assume for next cycle they’d move earliest MCAT date to January 2023.

for those filling out fin aid forms, does the SSB portal show that you uploaded forms? I know its a 3-5 business day turnover for the forms to be accepted but I just want to ensure that all my docs have been uploaded/received.

oh yea, but mine probs wont be completed by today. i just wanted to make sure all my docs were uploaded successfully. Like in IDOC, it shows what documents you upload, but on SBB, i cant seem to find such place

Right there w/ you flower plant. I didn't get any confirmation, but I'm just hoping they went through. Let me know if you receive any updates!

Is the March [emoji[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]] deadline applicable to forms uploaded to the portal as well? If I submitted them earlier today I’m still considered within deadline right?

As i understand it, it’s just the deadline to be considered priority and it’s for everything including the portal

Just found the pre-II R in my junk mail from 2/19. Not me on here rejoicing thinking I’d dodged the R train 😂

has anyone started getting their financial aid packages yet? the financial aid office said they’ll send them by end of april but I wasn’t sure if some students start getting them earlier…
