two questions -

did most people leave the optional question blank?

is the campus preference binding? im honestly open to both campuses and don't really want to make a decision right now. if i select one, is the other entirely off the table?

For those that haven’t received an II yet, what shows up under your application status? Mine says “your application is ready”

"Thank you for applying to Creighton University School of Medicine. Your secondary application is complete and is ready to be reviewed for interview purposes. Please note that the review process takes a while to complete due to the large volume of applications Creighton receives each year."

It's not 100% binding. After you get admitted, it's possible for you to request a change of campuses and they'll generally grant it as long as there's an open spot on the other campus. It's generally easier to change from Phoenix to Omaha rather than the other way around.

FWIW the campus you applied to doesn't matter as far as I know. My interviewers both said they were required to ask me because they didn't know.

One thing to add on the campus thing- both of my interviewers were from the campus I did not apply to... kinda sad I couldn't ask about life in the area, specific culture questions, etc. Creighton if you're out there please coordinate interviewer/applicant campuses!!

did anyone have this issue where you write the essay and it says 1-2 characters left, then I hit save and it says -6? It let me submit my secondary so i am sure its fine but I was confused

Hi! Phx M1 here.
Wishing you all the best of luck this cycle. Keep an open mind during this process and take every opportunity to learn more about your potential programs. My DMs are open and def check out @ cusomadmissions on ig 🙂

Wanted to make a couple comments that will hopefully help you guys out. *Based off of my understanding from last year's cycle (always check with admissions, correct me if I’m wrong)*:
Campus Selection: The admissions team is completely blinded to your preference until you are offered admission, meaning your preference has no weight in your admission decision. As someone mentioned - you can change your campus preference post-interview and possibly after admissions if there are seats available. NOT getting admission to your preferred campus is veryy uncommon and only a concern for people being admitted late in the cycle (aka don't worry about it).
Interviewers: Since the campus preference is non-binding and not considered in your application review, you will likely have at least 1 person from the other campus during your interview. If you do not get someone from your preferred campus at all, take the opportunity to learn about the other campus and CUSOM as a whole. The two campuses have a lot in common! While not as convenient, you could reach out to pretty much anyone at your preferred campus and they will be more than happy to give you info, or direct you to someone who will.

Give grace to yourselves and each other. You guys got this - wherever you land.

Does anyone know what is the difference between the two interviews and any tips on how to prepare for them?

For me, it was one faculty and one student interview. For both, they had a few (maybe 5 or 6) questions that they were "required" to ask you. After those questions it was mostly just chill conversation. They were open file and it seemed like the interviewers thoroughly read through your application ahead of time with most of the questions revolving around your application.

Ultimately, it was super conversational and seemed like the interviewer was really just trying to know more about you and who you are as a person. Be yourself and you will do great 🙂
